Tollway Assailant Convicted

  • A Kane County jury convicted an Elk Grove Village man Tuesday on charges he hit a police officer with his car after a chase ending at the Elgin Toll Plaza.

Andrzej Wojtkielewicz, 23, was found guilty on one count of aggravated battery of a police officer – a Class 2 felony.
Around 9 p.m. July 14, 2009, Chicago police, acting on a tip that Wojtkielewicz had a large amount of cocaine and a gun, tried to stop Wojtkielewicz’s car at West Diversey and North Central avenues, according to Kane County prosecutors. Wojtkielewicz then led police on a chase westbound on Interstate 90.

[...] Wojtkielewicz stopped his vehicle at the Elgin Toll Plaza and officers approached the car and tried to get him out. Wojtkielewicz put the car in reverse and knocked an officer down, injuring him. He then put the car in drive and drove toward another officer, who shot at the car. Pieces of the bullet struck Wojtkielewicz in the chest, prosecutors said.
Of course, this was a Kane County jury that convicted him of Aggravated Battery of a Chicago Police Officer. A tip of the hat to the States Attorneys out there.

In Crook County it would have been some traffic tickets and those would have been SOL'd in court.

Can't wait to retire and get out of this shity hole of a city and county.

"Reputed gang member to appear in court in teen beating".... turns out McMouth has not been successfull in "obliteraing" the MLDs... the teen, who actually an innocent victim, that was beat into a coma last week, was beat by an mld... supprisingly the media also pointed out that he only recieved boot camp for a UUW pinch in 2009, which ran concurent with an agg dui arrest...

OT:Brown also vehemently denied ever being the subject of a sexual harassment complaint.

“It is not in my moral fiber,” he said.

Chicago police Lt. Dominic Rizzi said he felt a duty to attend Monday’s meeting and speak in Brown’s support.

“My experience with the man has been nothing but professional,” he said. “He is beyond reproach.”

He compared a blog that features negative comments about Brown to “an electronic bathroom wall.”

No one who has worked with Brown has anything derogatory to say about him, Rizzi said.

RIZZI, you suck ass bitch!!!!!

Some good news, however he was not found guilty of attempted murder of the other officer that he drove towards. Kane County jury = not much different that Cook County jury. Still 12 people too stupid to get out of jury duty.

How much time is to be dealt out for allowing this chase to continue? Heard some cars even ran out of fuel during the chase.

Criminals should be more observant of the Cook County/Lake County borders.

Attempted murder has a much higher threshold than we might think. I am sure this jerk will eventually kill someone. He got off way too easy to suit me.

Sounds like the young man beaten in this gang attack may not even pull through. If he does he will probably be brain damaged. We too often think every young victim of these incidents is also a gang member. By all accounts he was just in the wrong place wearing the wrong colors. The color of his clothing is worn at the city military high school he is attending. Wasted lives.

Kane county consists of mostly hard working Americans. Cook county is just a zoo. It is amazing how much the defense attornies in cook county get away with.

Since Brown was IN iad, and since Brown is SO connected, I'm sure he has been able to 'take care of' any residual evidence, if there was ever a complaint against him. IF there ever was.

A co-worker and I were a victim of one of his little games. I went straight to the boss and told him if it didn't stop immediately, I wanted a cr on the guy. With a sad little smile, the boss told me that 'wasn't going to happen' and 'I'll have a talk with him'. (I didn't realize back then how the old boy network and the clouted phone calls worked). I lost respect for the boss and the department that day.

I left the unit shortly after (my choice, for something more interesting), but always thought it was amazing how SOME guys could get away with the most blatant, outrageous behavior.

And, yes, I'd be happy to have publicly told Darien all about it, but it's better he goes to Darien and we're rid of him for good.
