Protests Come to Rahm
- About 150 protesters with Occupy Chicago marched on City Hall this afternoon aiming to speak with Mayor Rahm Emanuel and "assert our First Amendment rights."
But the mayor did not come out during a one-hour demonstration, and the protesters ended up handing over petitions to an aide demanding that they be allowed to occupy Grant Park.
The demonstrators said the march was sparked by two weekends of arrests by people who sought to set up camp in the park. They were joined today by groups who plan to protest during next spring's NATO/G8 summit in Chicago.
As the weather turns colder, we imagine that the Occupy Chicago forces might need a permanent warm and dry place to continue protesting. That hallway looks pretty comfortable - we're just saying.

Great. More a-holes sleeping in the police station.
Can't wait!
There are plenty of warm places to spend the night downtown. They are called Hotels, book a room, pay the taxes.
Of course McCormick place is usually empty most of the year...
Why doesn't hizzhonor come out and face his constituents like a man?
*** REGARDING THE OCCUPY CHICAGO MOVEMENT ***
ATTENTION ALL "OCCUPY CHICAGO" PROTESTORS MONITORING THIS BLOG FOR RECONNAISSANCE ...
Us in the 011th District, located at 3151 W. Harrison (S/E corner of Harrison & Kedzie streets) welcome you with open arms come the cold weather.
Our lobby is routinely occupied by the disease-ridden homeless, so you folks will be a welcome change of scenery for the officers that work the desk. The citizenry who visit the desk for report purposes might be able to learn a thing or two from you people...feel free to preach your message to them as they await an understaffed desk crew to cut them a report.
REMEMBER!!!! The lobbies of ALL police stations and all other public buildings BELONG TO THE TAXPAYERS/CITIZENS, so don't let them tell you that you can't set up camp at these locations. Furthermore, you CANNOT disturb the peace of a sworn law enforcement official, so feel free to chant your message nonstop while 'occupying' our lobbies.
Tom Skilling says the brisk temperatures are forthcoming...come claim your spot in our comfortable confines before the most valued real estate is taken. We'll be sure to order extra bologna to throw you folks the occasional sammich, too.
- former relief officer
Has everyone been paying attention to Oakland and their "peaceful" protests? Here's an important question; when an officer gets battered and/or injured, possibly seriously, during the G8 and NATO summits and when we grab that offender is the state's attorney's office gonna be on board and completely follow thru with felony agg batt to PO charges in each and every instance?? I sure as hell hope they do.
" As the weather turns colder, we imagine that the Occupy Chicago forces might need a permanent warm and dry place to continue protesting."
Back to mom's basement, I'd imagine.
That plus the Thousands that connverged on the State Capitol Rotunda today. Gee racoonmanuel can you imagine? the thousands plus the occupy chicago crowd. you think we'll save your ass? hmmmm can't guarantee it but We'll try our hardest, we promise...... NOT !!NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK of what you stirred up with your bullshit.......
I would guess Racoon Eyes was taking a nap after spending time in the basement of the Hall tearing open chained up metal garbage cans.
They lost me at Andy Thayer.
"Occupy Chicago" is looking more like a grade "B" Zombie movie every day.
No more residency waivers for city employees
Updated 4:00 a.m.
The Emanuel administration says it will no longer grant exceptions to the city's residency requirement.
019 tact was called out to the protest too... Good thing they haven't closed the station yet or no one would have come. Come to think of it, if they were closing my station and they called, no one would come out
Was AWESOME
Cops just stood there security? Ha what if the threw Bags O'shit like they didd in'68. They should have Never gotten inside.
FLOP should march

Serious question:
How does one make a living as a professional protestor---contributions to the cause from misguided donors; on the payroll of lawfirms;???
I say Occupy Shity Hall with city workers led by the CPD! Da Rah needs to know that with out the CPD this Shitty would have been destroyed several times over, over the last 150 + years. Da Mayo Rich would have had many Brutus moments if not for the CPD.
One thing good about Chicago, the weather keeps the political vermin at bay. Let them see if they can live in Grant Park when a 35 mile- an-hour wind comes from the North off the lake.
The CPD has been pussified by poor leadership. Commander/Supt. Cliff Claven should be wearing a Post Office Uniform and not the Supt. uniform.
Bring back the hard ass approach of 1968. That was great TV and made many people very proud of the CPD for protecting this city against out-of-town agitators.
It used to be where you look at a Chicago cop - even the out-of-shape ones and felt - no one is going to screw with this city because these guys would kick their ass. BIG time.
Now, you look at some in CPD and think wow what are they going to do if something big happens? (ESPECIALLY the leadership)
Forget City Hall, go protest in front of Rahm's home. We'll see how long they are out there, before they are arrested.
Rahm is duh peeple's mayo -- let them f*ckas in and don't let them out of Raccoon Eye's fiff flow office until duh mayo squeals.
Fuck the Racky Racoon!
They need protest at his house, like he would advocate doing to anyone who disagrees with him.
"Why doesn't hizzhonor come out and face his constituents like a man?"
Emmanuellle is busy.
Protest rahm every day then you'll at least be doing some good.
"As the weather turns colder, we imagine that the Occupy Chicago forces might need a permanent warm and dry place to continue protesting."

NO WAIT !!!! I have a great idea. since 13 is closing and it is a public place where the down and out homeless spend many of their nights, why not let them come on down to the soon to be emanuel 13th district old police station and and sleep in the hallways.. remember people, keep the stairway clear, be quiet, and come in peace and say you need to keep warm. as long as you do that the POS mayor allows you to come in and use this wonderful- old state of the art biulding of its day station . and you know how they say location location location right? well think about this when considering this as a "Warming" fascility. it's conviniently located on the edge of the, well, it's ukraniuim village east, bucktown south and the west loop walking distance to sidewalk cafes and wonderful wells high school .. don't worry about it come and protest here - 937 n wood street, lots of parking available on and off street. WE DON'T MIND, C'MON IN AND CHECK IT OUT WE WLCOME YOU...... LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL :)
Why doesn't hizzhonor come out and face his constituents like a man?

You just answered your own question !!!! like a man. gotta be a man first before you face up to anything to be a MAN and that we know he isn't
Why doesn't F.O.P. rent buses and drive the Occupy Chicagos agitators to Rahms house or hotel or whereever he lays his weasely head down.
City Hall is a WARMING CENTER!! Right?
How about McCormick Place, nothing else is happening there
time for a camp out and candle light vigil in the 4200 block of north hermitage--- bring plenty of monopoly money with you so you can throw it all over the little guys front lawn--- he's all about the benjamins, especially the ones that find their way into his pockets....
Hey Occupy Chicago, why don't you go protest on Rahm's block, maybe his neighbor's would be happy to see him drawing so much attention to his cozy neighborhood. What a complete ass! Now tickets for 1811, tickets for snow removal, tickets for puppy owners, tickets for bike riders, tickets for boat owners? Seriously? I hope you jag's that voted for this guy are happy with yourselves, I wish I had your money to throw away on a sinking city...
Protester's the doors of 018 and 001 are wide open, please come in stay warm and get a good nights rest, you are more then welcome to stay with us instead of a cold park. And this way no arrests either
come on people work smarter not harder
Hey why not sleep in A/3 aka 019, yes it's closing but it is in Rahm's district and since we do not need so many Officers there should be plenty of room for protesters to keep warm, use the restrooms and plan the following day's activities. Maybe even get up early and greet Rahm at his house, he does not seem to care about you as he does not seem to care about us either, there are more of us on your sides then you would think so keep it up and good luck.
Don't bother with Grant Park, go directly to the Police stations and camp in the warm lobbies, the doors are open and they are warming shelters plus clean restrooms and friendly service, this way you avoid being arrested.
Be smart not an ass like the hiding mayor
Hizzhonor does not come out and face his constituents like a man because he is not a man. He is a sissy punk bitch! Hiding behind taxes, tickets and his Police Security Detail. A real Man does not need a Security Detail, remember that. When you leave you are 99 and you alone control your security for yourself, your family and home. This punk has a 24 hour detail like the Superintendent? What a joke, good use of city dollars friend. Don't worry I will protect you Mr Mayor don't cry...
When the G8 comes running, step aside and let em have it! This mayor and Superintendent will absolutely not support us nor have our backs. Please boy's & girl's each other and family first, this is not the same city nor career that our parents had. We are alone, and they are just waiting for one of us to trip so they can make an example and hang us. This is what they want this is what we will give em
Why is the Mayor's Office sending in a person to talk with the Occupy Chicago people about where to sleep? Just send them to 018 & 001, lobbies are warm and there are bathrooms with running water and electrical outlets to recharge your phones for free, take advantage of what your taxes pay for and go there to sleep and re-charge for another fine day of protesting and wasting everyone's time.
Check the video on Ace of Spades website on your side bar. An armed group arrived to the OWS protest in Phoenix. At the 1:30 mark in the video, the armed person stated they are there to protect the protesters from the public servants (police on scene). Including use of deadly force according to his statement. This is becoming truely disturbing.

Let em sleep in Grant Park and when they refuse to leave, have someone turn on the in-ground sprinkler system he he! Give them stinky asshole's a quick shower and I bet they will run like Dracula from Holy Water!!!!!!!
Now that's Classic Chicago Police Work!!!
How about Occupy a shower you nasty bastards!
Seriously tooth paste and deodorant does not hurt, use it maybe you'll get a job!
Oh Rahm! Oh Rahm! Oh Rahm Emanuel! He may like having the police around....but, he don't want to pay for them!!
Get ready, boys and girls!! You're about to get screwed again!!
LOL...
Where to start?
City Hall has no legal authority to allow anything in a Chicago Park District area...did someone miss that point?
6am to 11pm Hours mean Just that without a special permit.
But hey...the whatever % are too stupid to do anything other than remember how to breathe I guess.
019 tact was called out to the protest too... Good thing they haven't closed the station yet or no one would have come. Come to think of it, if they were closing my station and they called, no one would come out
Either way i don't think anybody would notice if you were there or not.
Protesters! Occupy Chicago Folks!
Sit-in at the "Civic Federation of Chicago", 177 N. State St., Suite#400.
This is the major advocacy group for Chicago's crony capitalists and plutocrats.
I gotta hand it to the cops. You guys are stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one. On the one hand, you have a mayor doing his damnedest to put you on the unemployment line, and on the other hand, being sent out to stare at and arrest a bunch of protesters who are ideologically on your side and are a threat to no one other than Rahm and his 1% buddies - and even then only on a political level - has got to be demoralizing.
City Hall is a warming center? Awesome. Had no idea. I'll pass that along. ;-)
I support a peaceful demonstration and sit in and WILL NOT make any arrests unless given a direct order by a sgt or above. A lot of cops are on your side and hate the "Chicago machine" as most do...019 district cop. Quit hiding Rham and speak to the people who put you in office or they just might decide to demonstrate around your house you coward.
Rahm Emanuels home address is 4228 N. Hermitage ...public information.
I don't understand?
.
.
His worshipness wants them to move quickly and us to drive slowly?
.
.
He wants no probable cause nor a complaining witness nor the totality of the circumstances to do:
Which?
A ticket in the mail and/or confiscation of personal freedom and private property if one doesn't bend to extortion of exorbinate fines to maintain the corruption?
Or?
Incarcerated first amendment protesters of the similar corruption private and public. Plus confiscation and DESTRUCTION of personal harmless property while they are unable to prevent/protest/demand due processes due to unlawful restraint and false arrest for what?
Trespassing on the public way while sleeping.
Instead of a summons/ ticket to appear and use an affirmative defence; he wants to make them criminals in the cages.
Two more curfew violators? We're short handed (yeah) tonight. Put them in the holding cell so we can watch em!
Recruit fully trained by guess who says! "With the transvestite cannibal, the HIV post operative sodomist and the serial cremationist rapist?
Veteran KMA MEMBER says, "Yeah kid, tell em to stick together!" I'll be back I gotta go up on the roof and have a smoke." Keep a eye on my; " Retire in constable county Nevada, magazine!"
It's got the, "No taxes if you have a CCW license as a retired cop and latest wanted dead or alive articles." You wouldn't understand it anyways kid?"
If that's right? Who are we?
.
First amendment ideas can start or STOP wars!
It can define the will of the people if the people can have access to it. Blog's like this prove that!
Occupy Chicago and the Bums in the Lobbys sounds like a party to me!
The Catholic Church. They have a lot of unused buildings, lots of money a strong sense of social justice and Flager.
Let em sleep in Grant Park and when they refuse to leave, have someone turn on the in-ground sprinkler system he he! Give them stinky asshole's a quick shower and I bet they will run like Dracula from Holy Water!!!!!!!

Um, the parks don't have sprinkler systems except in some of the flower beds.
ATTENTION ALL OCCUPY CHICAGO PROTESTERS! Listen kids, we do not want you guys to get cold so we are letting you know that you can come to any police station to spend the night and stay warm. Seriously. We let anyone spend the night there if they have no place to go and NO, you WILL NOT be arrested as long as you guys are lawful and peacable? Come on down to the 001st, 018th, 012th, 013th Districts.....all offer easy access to the downtown area. But you dont need to confibe yourselves to these districts, go to ANY district. Yes you're welcome! This benefit is courtesy of our thoughtful Mayor. Many people take advantage of the freebie, why not you?
Sheeeiit...
Tell 'em to occupy 9.5's front lawn and see what happens...
The same thing that happened when they went to city hall...
Tiny Dancer 9.5 peeking between the shades like the Puss with an aye ee he really is.
He hides behind his bodyguards, his millions and his status as the "make it hap'n cap'n" thanks to his yellow-pinky Gold Coast/North Shore/Hyde Park financial backers and fund raisers.
As an aside...
We noticed 9.5 & McMouth-breather have a problem looking Policemen in the eye.
We don't remember the actual term for this but it's well known in military & psych circles as an unconscious deminishment of one's enemy before killing him by refusing to bestow a shred of humanity on him by looking him in the eye.
Rahm & McMouth-breather have murderous intentions toward Policemen just like the ghetto dogs do...
Ruthless & hateful S.O.B's
Most of us that have been out there daily do not have a problem with members of Occupy Chicago. In fact, there are a few of our guys/girls marching with them on Saturdays and Wednesday at City Hall just like every other city union does.
The problem is not the true members of OC but the many other groups that have joined them to promote their un-American views (socialism, anti-police, one world government, etc...). Many true members/supporters of OC have left the cause because of this. A lot of the working class does not want to be tied into what this movement is now becoming.
I believe OC as we saw it for the last month will be gone. I also believe the rallies and marches will become less friendly as the membership becomes more composed of people with other agendas.
Bottom line is not one of us that will be on the lines from now thru May (and maybe beyond) makes that $507,000 per year to be a 1%er and we do have the same gripes as the true OC membership. However, this can not allow us to let our guard down as we sympathize or agree with their cause. Their tag along groups DO NOT like us, DO NOT support us, and if given the chance WOULD LOVE TO DO HARM TO US.
As always, stay safe brothers and sisters of CPD.
Hey OC folks, here's one of Penny Pritzker's many homes, go camp out in front of her house.
She is most certianly part of the 1% and a very close friend of Obama and Rahm.
You'll get some action protesting over there.

The lawyers contribute to "The Cause"
"The Cause" goes out and causes the incident that causes the lawsuit against the city...
The lawyers collect from the city 'cause they also contribute to the aldermen who write the checks.
Forget the 1%, if the Occupiers went and protested at the East Bank Club, they'd find the .5% -- most of whom are Rahmbo and Obama's buddies.
Calling all Chicago Police Officers . Wake up and do your job , the mayor prays you're afraid to Enforce the laws passed by the city council .
CPD has to Authority and Power to Enforce every law on the books .
Do your job , don't be cowards .
You have More Power than G8 or OWS protestors and the City of Chicago Corp Counsel has to defend you for doing your job.
If you don't want to have current benefits reduced and pay cuts , Start Now , Be the Police .
Doing Nothing is what the mayor and aldercreatures want .
CPD has power and authority to bring the mayor to his knees.
promote their un-American views (socialism, anti-police, one world government, etc...).

They want this until they realize that they aren't immune from the lack of prosperity their views bring. They're special, the rules don't apply to them, even if no one has anything, they believe they'll still have their I Phones, I pads and $5 for a Starbucks coffee. They're stupid and many are young.
To the poster asking about Andy Thayer- He works for our dear friends over at Loevy and Loevy. I've seen him there myself.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am one of the approximately 300 arrested--I was among the first arrested on the 16th. I am a full-time student who spends a maximum of 3 hours a week with Occupy Chicago. I do not speak as a representative of OC--this is just me talking.
What I see being said here is enlightening. OC knows that CPD agrees with the message. OC doesn't want CPD to lose more jobs. But it's hard to have dialogue when CPD is in uniform and on-duty--we know that it's a hot situation and one has to be careful with what they say. I'm someone interested in people telling their stories--that becomes history, right? History is made of our stories. I worry that CPD's stories will be left out, though, in the larger picture.
CPD is clearly not NYPD or OPD--I have thanked many an officer for corking roads on marches, and was cordial to my arresting officer (Fred?). We made small talk on the walk to the wagon. That is why we have thanked you in the past--for not harming us. That shows us that you respect us.
I want to help CPD tell their story. That might take the form of a short video, or it could be a small self-published book (in case anyone wants to remain anonymous). I'm interested in why individuals became police in the first place--did you like protecting the bullied kid on the playground? Had your whole family been police officers? And I'm interested in capturing what you all are saying here (about corruption in the city) and putting it into another, more visible form. This movement shouldn't turn into Occupy vs. Police--that's what the corrupt 1% wants to see happen, while they drink cocktails in their penthouses, laughing at the skirmishes below. No one wants to live in a world where they fear their own public servants--it's time to humanize CPD for the media & the historical record.
We can shift the course of history when we realize our unity. We have common goals, and I like to believe that most of us are basically good. Turning this whole thing into people vs. law enforcement is a quick way to kill it, and we don't want that. We don't want to get hurt and we don't want you to get hurt. Who's interested in this project?

I'm interested. Leave your contact info and we can contact you.
Now, you look at some in CPD and think wow what are they going to do if something big happens? (ESPECIALLY the leadership)
------------------------------
Verbal Judo. Its a joke. the Feds and lawsuits make it impossible to do anything to protect this city, do you think officers wish to go to prison and lose everything if something big happens, hell that happens when its small. The city will not indemnify its officers. So it means the feeling instilled by all is act upon protesters and you might go to prison, or be fired and possibly lose in civil court. Basically, for all members of CPD its lets pray that standing there in uniform solves these current Occupy and G/8 problems. If they act peacefully some arrest will happen-no big deal. Worst case, thousands and thousands show up, for two weeks and start fires and fight, and hold parts of downtown while rioting along with peaceful protesters the city is going to have problems. In the end will officers be fired? The city pays out a billion in damages? and when sued settle for millions? and some officers might be sent to federal prison? Don't worry no bosses will be sued or fired just maybe the blue shirts. The city must be prepared to answer these above questions. But won't in the open.
OT but worth looking into...

Why did Ray Kelly, Police Commissioner of New York, have a secret meeting with George Soros recently? You know, George Soros, the despicable communist/marxist/socialist whose money and organizations are responsible for the Occupy hordes in Europe and in the US. This article is worth reading.
Is it true that Tiny Dancer 9.5 wanted to charge them each a $10.00 admission fee ????
Hearing buzz about another march on City Hall...and 35th Street. Buckle up boys and girls the rank and file are gaining momentum.
