Lovely Rita, Meter Maid ...

Bribe ’em: Sneed’s dumber-than-a-box-of-rocks award goes to the meter maid who reportedly took a $20 bribe from a teenage motorist in the form of a personal check for scratching a parking ticket.

◆ The backstory: The meter maid, Jamila Judkins , 36, was about to write the ticket when the ticketee pleaded with her to forget it.

◆ The bribe: Judkins, who worked for the Chicago Department of (ka-ching) Revenue, allegedly said she’d make the ticket disappear for $20. Because the teen had no cash, he used a blank check from his parents to pay her.

◆ The kicker: When he returned home, the teen told his parents, who called the police, sparking an investigation that revealed Judkins deposited the check in her personal bank account the same day. Judkins was charged with felony bribery and was placed on a $5,000 bond Tuesday

fresh off the press. in Saturday mornings sun-times
what a dufus, But hey they ( the city-/ mayor wants to privatize/has already privatized ) ticket writing, so go figure.

I remember years ago the traffic guy in 14 got caught up for shaking down the businesses along milwaukee ave. for illegay parking . Although bad move on traffic guys part but WOW 5,000. bond?

I'm sure Judkins will get slapped on the wrist even though it says ' worked ' and will probably end up somewhere else on the city payroll.
and be told like the rest just like all those that work outside of the dept do and be told " DO NOT DO THAT AGAIN !!" WHAT A FUCKIN EMBARASSMENT TO the city and especially D.O.R
I tell you, all those D.O.R. people what scumbag pieces of shit !!!!
remember also that just a little over a month ago, those same piece of shit d.o.r. people were out writing tickets to p.o's that were attending a halloween/ fundraiser party for one of our own in the 13th dist near ( halsted & erie ) and even told one off duty p.o. ' i dont give a fuck who they are'.. well guess what we dont give a fuck who you work for in the city especailly d.o.r. .... hey can i write you a check??? JAG !!

Get out your barf bags for the next week as the City will tranform Maggie (Carmella Soprano - blissfully ignorant of her husband's Tony/Rich Daley's crimes - but profiting from them nevertheless), into some kind of Saint.

Furthermore, watch and see if they do not try to re-name the Chicago Cultural Center after her.

And the daughter will likely be put in charge of Maggies afterschool matters program - the program that twisted the arms of companies for donations and got hundreds of millions of city dollars.

Will the coppers assigned to drive her to the hospital and doctor (because her scumbag kids and husband were too busy to do so) now be released for street duty ?

Do unto others that would do unto you.
While the printed media provides Sunday papers off of newspaper trucks, the TV media bites us. Unless there is a specific permit involved start taking enforcement action against TV trucks and the like. If they run a red light - ticket them, if they are parked on the sidewalk along LSD to provide live video - ticket them & make them move, if they place their vehicles in a such a way that a normal vehicle would be ticketed, do so unto them.
As a great howling begins be sure to use the radio to announce that you are taking enforcement action against a media vehicle. This is a sure fire way to eliminate the “he said - she said” situation. Even better should you receive a direct order not to take enforcement, use the radio to cancel the tow per order of “the deputy..”, or whoever. Recorded transmissions are hard to refute later.
Find and carefully read the ordinance and statute citations that apply to the media. I believe you will find that the lowliest patrol officer can make the biggest media truck with a satellite disk move to a legal parking space.
Now also be mindful that the media is surreptitiously recording every word you say. So be very careful about what you say, on the scene of an incident, to a fellow officer, you may have to eat those words.
If you wish to truly walk into harms way, wait until they begin a live broadcast to use a loudspeaker to tell them to move along.

Hacker Group Targets Pepper-Spraying Cop

The Internet hacking group "Anonymous" has launched its latest attack on the UC Davis police officer accused of pepper-spraying students by posting a video online that lists his personal contact information.

In a 10-minute video attributed to the group, a computer-altered voice publicizes the home address, home telephone and cellphone numbers and email address belonging to Lt. John Pike, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Did anyone catch the article in "Chicago Breaking News" aka fibune about the firefighter injured during lower West side blaze? Since when has Chicago had a lower West side? Does that imply that we have a middle and upper West side as well? Could it be that the author is either from Manhattan or went to school in Manhattan and never had the benefit of working for City News and learning the ropes?

Best wishes to the Firefighter and a speedy recovery or not if he wants the holidays off.

Looks like they finaly getting along to a Sgt list. Look for merit packets in the next 2 weeks. They have to use money that was set aside or lose it. Word is enough money for 120 from the last 2 budgets but would expect closer to 75 or 80. Supe wants them to have some time at grade before the G8/Nato summits next summer.

Budget is the same thing for Dics however Supe wants to wait until all the reorganization is done so not to retrain new promotees again. Probably not gonna happen for a while then get put on hold for the summits.

GoodLuck all that have been waiting forever.

Things I have learned in life:
• Don't get married
• Don't believe, "it's okay, I'm on the pill"
• However, the kids are the best thing that ever happened to me. They grow up fast so enjoy every minute of them.
• Having a good partner you can call "a friend" in a shitty district is better than being alone in a good unit.
• The housing bubble is popped forever. No matter what I do to my house in the city, it's still just a workin class guy's house and it's not gonna make me rich.
• Pills that promise to make your penis bigger really don't work and they don't really have a money back guarantee

Imagine Racoon Eyes with his shit eating smile looking down at the crowd of cold peasants after he just got done lighting the puny city Christmas tree. What is he thinking about? How fucking stupid we all are allowing him to fuck us over at will. He only sees us as a source of REVENUE and a means to an end. Mom and Dad are depressed even though the kids are all happy and full of excitement thinking Santa will fill up the bottom of the tree with goodies. Fact is Mom and Dad have no idea of how they will pay for this Christmas or the next. The Racoon loves being the Grinch all year. He likes the idea he won't need a gun to stick us up all next year and he won't go to jail. The Racoon makes Scrooge look like Mother Teresa.

Civillian question. Who are the guys in the unmarked cars in tshirts/jeans and vests? (I'm curious both what they actually do, and what the brass thinks they do).

They're not fooling anyone in terms of being under cover since the cars are very obviously cop cars, and the way they are dressed is obviously police.

What is the point? They're out of uniform, but not undercover.

I'm very interested in hearing the reality version plus what the official purpose is.

@1.15am Yes, you can be tested for steroids. More than one CPD officer has gone down because of them.

Better question is do you use them and why?

THEY WILL KILL YOU!!

Lyle Alzado, Ken Caminiti, anyone of many professional wrestlers and other pro and amateur athletes up to and including Walter Payton, can all blame steroids for their deaths via various cancers, liver problems, hormone imbalances or just or 'roid rage.

If you use them, you need to stop before you harm yourself more or someone you care about when you lose control and go on a rampage.

From not a cop, just a humble and lovable city worker,

Maggie Daleys charity, After School Matters, is just a front for businessmen to funnel cash to the Daley family. The feds would NEVER think of auditing IT, would they? A giant family slush fund, immune to taxes and oversight!

Back under Daley I, Continental Air Transport controlled all airport shuttles. Jane Byrne, knocked them out. They got the shuttle business back under junior, with one exception, they had to take on a silent partner. Guess who? MAGGIE DALEY!!!!
Everyone go cry crocodile tears for Chicago's Marie Antionette!

"Does the Chicago Police Department test for steroids?"

11/26/2011 01:15:00 AM

..I believe the Department will test an officer for using steroids only if there is a complaint. Since the complaint would involve the ILLEGAL use of anabolic steroids, the complaint could be made anonymously.

That cortege goes by me, I will keep my hat on, turn my back, and quietly wait for it to go away, around the corner somewhere.

The medical while a visible benny does not really cost the city anything. The city does not replace you when you go on medical your unit will just work short.
If the city was serious about the medical abuse they would only go after those who abuse it but that might bring them into conflict with the clout heavy.

I'm sure Judkins will get slapped on the wrist even though it says ' worked ' and will probably end up somewhere else on the city payroll.

I would not give revenue a break anymore or SERCO or whoever is writing tickets.
I fucked up and forgot to write the date on a residential parking permit. They put it right on top of my fop sticker. In may opinion, as to say fuck you; we don't care who your are.

I am ok. The ticket was my fault. I fully accept responsibility.

However, so should they. I will not give any of them a break anymore. Maybe, and that is a maybe, if they can prove they are married or close family of law enforcement.

Cant say forsure, but I don't recall ever seeing her. They have always been about themselves, so the only funeral she may have gone to was one that she personally knew. On another note. I love how the media tlaks about the "Daley's day" has always been sunday. That's the excuse they use for never going to St. Judes. But if anyone recalls when Daley was selling off the city to get the olympics he spent all day sunday showing the olympic people around, but could never spend one hour at St. Judes.

Yes she did. She came to the funerals if she was in town. She always stayed to the left of the Mayor in between him and the1st Dep. She did miss a couple, but made several including the funeral of Brian Strouse, where she clapped for Mrs Strouse when she busted on Richie about the lack of a raise that year. Maggie clapped with the rest of the crowd and Richie shot her the knock it off you goofy woman look. Mrs Strouse overshadowed Brian's funeral in the media with that comment, but Maggie clapping and Richie sulking in his seat was a riot.

West Side a rough place to score dope

"Someone shot out the back window of a car being driven by a Downers Grove man on the West Side early this morning, wounding him in the back.

"Four other men, including the 18-year-old brother of the driver, were in the car but no one else was hurt, police said.

"The group was traveling on the 2800 block of West Lexington Street at 2:40 a.m. when a gunman fired four or five shots that went through the back driver's side window of the 2004 Volkswagen Passat, police said.

"The driver was wounded in the back and continued to drive to Rush University Medical Center, where he was treated, police said.

"A motive was not known and the five men were being 'uncooperative' with investigators..."

What fool would accept residency in place of medical? How many P.O.'s would actually end up moving? Sure there would be some, but most are settled in and kids are in schools.

Lifting the residency will mostly affect new hires, and do we really need more suburbanites on this job?

Losing medical would affect everyone.

Be careful what you wish for.

Why do you care so much?

Don't worry about what job they are doing or how they are dressed or what kind of car they are driving.

All you need to know is that they are doing their job - the job that their supervisor has them doing.

Now go away and find some civilian blog to pester people on.

Here is Loevy & Loevy's scam, they don't take any of the award in fees. They only sue in Federal Court. Whatever the judgement is for the plaintiff, all of it goes to that party.

Loevy & Loevy then asks the court for legal fees and submits a bill. The client doesn't pay it, the City does, if they lose the case. That's how it works in Federal Court.

Anyone remember Flint Taylor suing on behalf of one of the Wilson Brothers? The People's Law Office asked for and received damages for their client of $1.00 (one dollar)

Taylor then submitted a bill for legal fees for over One Million dollars which the City was forced to pay. Wilson was free to keep his one dollar although the police officers' family had judgements against them.

Guess what?

We're gonna put corporate logo's on everything. Bridges, garbage cans, trucks, police cars soon.

The backs of parking tickets will likely have coupons for discounts at a pizza joint or coffee shop.

The pimps are whoring out the entire city for a buck flushing our culture and heritage down the sewer.

The lighting of hizzhonors "Holiday Tree" is just one example.

Next year that tree will be brought to you by some corporate sponsor with their logo's all over it. Just wait until you see what they have in mind for the manger scenes!

The corporate logo "tagging" of city property by the corporate friends of hizzhonor will likely make the gang tagging of garages and homes a welcome site.

To all the people who say that police should just be happy to keep what they have in this next contract negotiation I say this......you didn't get a raise last year because of Quinn's tax hike. Your water bill just went up. Your property taxes just went up. Your city stickers just went up. Your electric bill is going up. You pay the highest gas prices in the country. Enough said.....Fuck this! Compensate for having to live in this shithole!

To the post about banging the news media, well I work a beat car in the 1st district and during Taste of Chicago, the Police Comand Van always parks on Plymouth Ct and Jackson. Well signs were all posted due to a Special Event going on, but the media still decide to park because of the Blag Trial going on at the Federal Courts. Well the Sgt. in charge of the Command Van gets out and approached the media vehicle crews and tells them to move, they ignored, out he comeswith a ticket book and writes about 9-10 cars, he then proceeds to order tows on every one of the trucks, the tow trucks come and hooks 4 vehicles and then the media decides that this Sgt. meant business and moved. I walk up to the Sgt. and tell him he has a big set of balls, and he said that he had enough of thier crap and that he just doesn't deal well with threats of being dumped, etc. I saw him again on another job and told him I remebered him and asked if anything ever came about the tows, and he just looked at me and said, Nothing was done and smiled. I sure wish I could get this Sgt. to work in 001 with us.

Anyone who talks up for any Aldermen, Mayor and or other political hack needs their heads examined. They sold off the city for their own gain. The parking meters, sky way, ripping up an airport and all the privatization with their friends and families owning the companies. The Aldermen vote 50 to Zero backing all this nonsense and telling us we are clock watchers. Well keep coming on the internet and other venues and saying what good people they are, and how nice of a job they do showing up to different events. In the end they are selling your kids down the river.

Wake up!

Just curious Rip Maggie Daley but I was wondering did she ever attened a police officers funeral when they were killed in the line of duty.

11/26/2011 04:23:00 PM
===================================
She was also at the ff's funeral last year when the chaplain called out the elected officials for trying to mess with our pensions. She smiled & clapped there too.

I have ran into her on 2 occasions when not in uniform & she was nice when think that I was just a citizen. The last time my son said that I was on the job and she was even thankful to me for serving the city. She was not like her husband.

Then steroids are listed and there is no allowable leeway, No Presence of Steroids is allowed

Don't feel too bad -- even a rich guy's house can be a dead loss these days. I saw one on TV, huge mansion, built on a hillside with a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Even the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra could not sell that place -- THEY REALLY DID TRY.

The realtor held a huge champagne reception there and hired the entire Orchestra for entertainment.

Everyone came, ate, drank, listened, wandered around looking in awe at the huge empty rooms, then got back in their cars and left.

Isn't there still an IAD approval needed to be assigned to a tact/ gang/ ocd unit? If so, how does one get approved after hitting the medical to avoid working midnights and waltzing her way onto a team? She must also have something to offer after being the A/3 secretary with 6 years on the job. I've heard that not only is this sticking around but the age may actually be lowered to 52 or 53.
Think about it it's a very inexpensive way for the city to shred the high salaries of the old timer coppers. They lose our high salaries, reduce the number of officers, and only have to pay our healthcare premiums. I've even heard that the city's contribution to our healthcare premiums are federally subsidized under this program. It's a win - win for the city and seems likely to stick around.

They're not fooling anyone in terms of being under cover since the cars are very obviously cop cars, and the way they are dressed is obviously police.

What is the point? They're out of uniform, but not undercover.

I'm very interested in hearing the reality version plus what the official purpose is.

07:27 You don't have a clue what you are talking about. The city doesn't pay any health insurance premiums. They are self insuranced. All BC/BS does is administer the plan
As far as lowering the age, this year the city only allowed 199 firemen to take advantage of the 55 if the city wanted older officers to retire wouldnt that also apply to the CFD
How can there be a federal subsidy if there are no premiums.
The 55 plan is a negotiated benefit and it has to be in the contract and no one including any FOP officer can tell you what the contract will bring. In a worse case scenario, the 55 could go to arbitration and the abritrator rule against it
When they are running for office they will tell you alot of things
I'm sure FOP has followed true on all their promises and you believed them

Now THIS is embarassing!!!
Let us know who and what unit this douchebag is in so we can school him. This is the reason we as an organization, have so many problems.

Hey dickhead, whoever you are,
raise you kids in the proper, respectful way that we all should.

Not in the, "My daddy is the police" mentality.

A little respect goes a Looooong way.

i hope Mike Shields considers bidding of starting times during the next contract negotiations. Management is always moving starting times for people management does not like. This is a non-economic issue, so it should be a no brainer.

WAHHHHHH! I NEED TO HAVE A 0530 START TIME BECAUSE......

A)I have a family.

B)I need to pick my kids up because I' too cheap to pay for after school programs.

C)If I start at 0530 then I can take my lunch at 1315hrs and screw the late cars.

The point is.......there is no point. I myself have been on the job for over 20 years and have wondered why these officers dress like they do. Grant it the unmarked car is harder to make out from a distance (compared to a marked car), but beyond that.....

The official version is it is a spot to put someones kid who just got off probation. Walking around in civilian dress but with the vest (usually in the black cover) on the outside and the duty belt on fools no one.

But it looks cool. And you get to impress the ladies, making them think that you are more than just a glorified beat cop.

From today's Tribune, section 1 p. 13, entitled "British riots panel says police botched response":

"Looters and violent offenders were encouraged by limited numbers of police..."
