Maybe not as many (although they claim they will be many), but they're still on the way:
- Although the G8 Summit has moved to Camp David, protestors say they still plan on coming to Chicago in May and they're making changes so they can move forward with what's expected to be a massive march on the NATO Summit.
Organizers of the protest movement say they are gaining momentum.
Of course, they have to say that. Just like Rahm and McG8 have to continue with the fiction that the Department is up to full strength, the training is more than enough to handle 50,000 protestors running amok and crime is down citywide.

Yes, these assholes are still coming. It is as if the Grateful Dead were still around and all these (violent) heads are coming to town. Perhaps we should deputize the Maniac Latin Disciples (Rahm) and let the visiting assholes deal with them! They are going to want weed and MLD will be there to serve, protect, probably not. I am not a doctor, and don't pretend to know what I am talking about with this, but I had yearly checkup today, and was chit chatting with the Doc. I've been seeing him for years, and I trust his opinion. He asked if we are prepared for May, and then thought about it for a second and asked if I had my hepatitis A vaccine. It's been so long since I had any of those shots I told him I didn't know. Due to what may be encountered in May he suggested that I get the shots. I haven't heard anything from FOP about this, or at the class for our expert crowd control training. This is just an FYI for everyone that may be going downtown for the festivities. Like I said, this is not something I know much about, but thought it could be useful info. I'll stop thinking now. Stay safe everyone.

(video) Meanwhile down in St Louis last night the Midwest regional Occupy group kicked off their protest actions.
Occupy had representatives from at least 18 different Occupy groups representing at least six different states.
It's hard to tell what exactly happened from the citizens videos posted but what appeared to begin as a peaceful action ended with about 14 arrests and some cracked skulls ( two protestors hospitalized) when about 50 officers some swinging batons are said to have charged the group for no reason as protestors left a park. Haven't heard of any officer injuries. There was one cruiser that got some windows busted out. Maybe it will become clearer as more video is posted. If what the protestors are saying proves true some officers will likely be stripped, but you know how that goes. Time will tell.
All it takes is one. One bottle thrower on their side or one over zealous officer on our side to enable the propaganda war that taints everyone in the respected group while escalating violence.
Anyways, while there was only somewhere around 150~200 protestors at last nights action in St. Louis you can bet on several things.
1.) The police standing in front of Bank of America in the videos come off as hired thugs assigned by the corporate owned political puppets to protect the corporate banking crimes that the president overlooks, refuses to have his regulators charge and prosecute, and thereby are making a mockery out of our entire justice system.
This doesn't portray the police on the side of right, law and order, but on the side of might, money and greed. You will put up with the frauds and crime perpetrated by them and like it is the message. We're more concerned about city ordinance curfew violations than we are with massive frauds effecting the global economy and what is causing these protestors to take to the streets in the first place.
Heh..must be that "Broken Windows" crime mythology where you concentrate on the low priorities because it may prevent the high priority crimes in the future. Nice diversion if you're buying it.
The presidents comments that no crimes have been committed when it comes to the banking fiasco is a lie. Not because the protestor say so but what the FBI and others have said including what has surfaced is various hearings. Who do you serve -- who do you protect is the well known mantra.
2). While the numbers in St Louis so far are relatively small the number of locations represented is larger and the representatives in attendance will return home with stories of how things went down which may prove to be a motivator to some for their Chicago visit.
With this economy I hope the whole world comes and I'll join them.
And our local nutcases like thayer, naham, rogers, and sertek are just a few to watch out for in May. They are looking for the dollar sign.

Your estimate is off by about two weeks. They aren't arriving the day Nato starts. The big push is to move into Chicago on May first.

Is there ANY city PD in the entire country that could handle a rowdy crowd of that size? The riots of the 60s proved that even a few thousand rioters was more than any city dept could handle and that was when wanton violence against the rioters was considered acceptable by many police agencies and much of the public.
In all the training we have had for this cluster, I have not seen one boss. Keep in mind when the shit hits the fan, they will be the ones directing us(god help us).
They have no clue what is going on. I would rather have an instructor give us direction on formations rather than any CPD boss. Just because you are a LT or higher rank doesn't mean you know what you are doing.
I get that the Outlaws are friends of the police during the Summmit but "Cops and Outlaws" doesn't sound right. As long as we are new BFFs would they mind if I called them Robbers, just me and just for special events. See what I mean? "Cops and Robbers" even sounds like a couple.
