Joliet?
Mothballed for a decade, the Joliet Correctional Center could be temporarily reopened to serve as a detention facility for those arrested for serious offenses during the May 20-21 NATO summit.
Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart says his first choice was to use Division 3 at Cook County Jail before the once-empty division had to be filled with detainees over the last two months.
A less desirable alternative was to put up tents in the yard at Cook County Jail.
But, Dart said the solution that makes the most sense is Joliet, the hulk of a prison facility mothballed in 2002.
Bus them out there and make 'em walk back. At least they'll be tired when they arrive for Round #2.

They can use Guantanamo for the really bad guys, Tents or chain link holding pens will do or perhaps they can strike a deal with Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona.
One encounter with Sheriff Joe and they will never want to come here to be arrested again. But of course this is Cook County, the land of milk and honey for arrestees.
This whole NATO thing is nothing more than a money making venture for Loevy and Loevy, People's Law Office, Flint Taylor and the other blood sucking leeches who are trying to generate some cash flow for their law firms.

Please tell me why do we need to OPen up Joliet? According to the City and our Chief it will be a peaceful event?
Instead of locking them up in joliet, make them auxiliary police and assign them to work for the xo of 19. They'll never come back to chicago again.
Is there any chance of getting Joliet ready in time. Will the state even allow it?
The facility is not under the jurisdiction of Dart so what makes him think he could just up and use it?
Most of the arrestees are going to be ROR any way.
They put up an outdoor cage at 19 west and the auditorium is being set up for IAD to process arrests. IAD? Yep. Gitmo North!

Dart will spend millions on this fool-hardy idea and the taxpayers will have to pay more.
Imagine the short term emergency contracts that will granted to the connected.

confine them on a barge on Lake Michigan, then sink it.
Those charged with a misdeamenor will be shipped to 011, 015, 005 and 007 lockups so they really get a taste of chicago.
Dart will say anything to keep his name in the media. It's been a slow month for illegal puppy mills.
