We couldn't believe this goof advocated everyone stay in the city, come downtown, don't mind the hours long commute on public transit and the possibility of delays, riots, flash mobbings, etc. She's actually saying it's going to be fun time with minimal disruptions, while in the meantime, we're getting 500 State Troopers and 600 National Guardsmen along with assorted hardware to combat a worst-case scenario.
Healey is bordering on criminal negligence advocating trips downtown in the middle of this.

As for the Red Cross plan, CBS 2 News has obtained a copy of an e-mail sent to volunteers in the Milwaukee area.
It said the NATO summit “may create unrest or another national security incident. The American Red Cross in southeastern Wisconsin has been asked to place a number of shelters on standby in the event of evacuation of Chicago.”
According to a chapter spokesperson, the evacuation plan is not theirs alone.
“Our direction has come from the City of Chicago and the Secret Service,” she said.
I thought the protesters came to mass transit and looted our fridge. Turns out the Lt. had and in-between snack and wiped it out clean.

Suggested we visit friends and family out of the city. Stock up on medicine, food, water,flashlights, etc. Building said due to traffic congestion. Really??

"The Chicago host committee for the NATO summit said Monday that the event would be a bigger economic boon than some of the city's best-known trade shows, but the rosy projections include what the government and corporations are spending to put it on.

I hope you are correct, but have you seen the news reports concerning other host cities during their turns in the barrel? For what reason would the protestors decide to play nice during our turn? You apparently own/use a computer, but do you own a television? Do you read any daily newspapers?
Also, The Price Is Right game show has notified Lori Healey to cease and desist using the "C'mon down!" phrase, else a lawsuit will be initiated. They do not want their game show with many nice prizes connected to a reality disaster show with many potential not so pleasant surprises.

I think it was seven, not a dozen. There is considerable doubt that any anarchists were actually responsible for the bomb. Keep in mind that after the fact all of the people convicted of the bombing were pardoned by the governor of IL due to a complete lack of evidence that any of them were actually involved in any way with the bombing.
Don't forget either that the police started shooting more or less indiscriminately into the crowd after the bomb went off, managing to wound as many as 60 of their fellow police officers in the confusion and darkness, along with killing 4 and wounding more than 70 protesters.
It is not clear that any of the protesters ever fired so much as a single round at police, although contemporary accounts suggest that there may have been some shooters in the crowd. It is not clear just who they were shooting at, or when they started shooting, if they actually existed.

When the meaning of words changes 'over time' solely because the word is misused by people who don't know what they're talking about, then it's just plain wrong.
A flash mob has a good connotation. It's a group of people who suddenly burst into entertainment mode.
A CRIMINAL mob is exactly that. A mob of CRIMINALS. Big difference.
