This is Racial Profiling?

  • Tyler Perry's April 1 Facebook post about police pulling him over was no April Fool's joke: The highest-paid man in entertainment is accusing a pair of white Atlanta police officers of racial profiling.

Four days later, Perry's post boasts more than 117,000 "likes," 21,000 comments, and 12,000 shares. Atlanta police have launched an internal investigation, E! News reports.

Perry's predicament began when he admittedly made a left turn from a far-right lane -- a trick his security detail taught him, to make sure he wasn't being followed, Perry explained on Facebook.

Two white Atlanta police officers pulled him over, but apparently did not realize they'd just stopped Tyler Perry.

No, they only realized that they saw a traffic violator with tinted windows make a completely illegal left hand turn across three active traffic lanes from the far right.

Evidently that's "racial profiling" in Atlanta. We had no idea.

And not recognizing Tyler Perry? We couldn't pick this guy out of a photo array on a bet. So what's the big deal that a couple of cops couldn't recognize him? Oh, they were white, so since they didn't recognize him as an actor, writer, producer (because you know cops and Hollywood elites all move in the same social circles), that must be racial profiling also.

And after all of that, the cops let him go. Without a ticket, summons or warning. Just an apology for being so impolite as to think Tyler Perry should follow the traffic laws of mere mortals. So yet again, that must be part of the "racial profiling" we hear so much about on the news.

Famous people break the law, get stopped for it, get a few questions tossed their way and released without so much as a warning ticket. We think too many cops have been doing it wrong all these years. So thank you Mr. Perry for pointing out the errors in Atlanta's racial profiling system. Hopefully, they do better from now on.

Another arrogant in his mind legend that thinks he is better than people. The fact that he got a break should have made him happy. But all these clebs are getting on the Treyvon Martin bandwagon. I always think back to Congressman Danny "Driving While Black" Davis. Being a holiday when he drove over the center line a few times might make me think he had a few brews with his pals in his car. The cops gave him a play and of course he starts whining about the stop anyway. And of course our favorite ex State Sen. Meeks who was pulled over by a White police sgt. Can't please anyone these days I guess.

Governor Grants Clemency To More Than 50 Illinois Offenders

Gov. Pat Quinn granted clemency and expunged the criminal records of more than 50 people on Friday.

The crimes Quinn wiped from the record range from drug offenses to forgery and domestic battery and occurred between 1958 and 2003.

Quinn tends to act on a slew of clemency requests right before busy holiday weekends, when there typically is less media scrutiny.

About 25 years ago, I put a stop on a Lincoln that flew threw the red light t Well and North Avenue. The kid at the wheel said "I have to get him to the show!" Next him was JAY LENO, it was before he was THE JAY LENO but it was JAY LENO.

I got not only gave that kid the ticket but a R. Lee Ermey Full Metal Jacket tounge lashing of how he was going to get JAY LENO killed and the world of comedy was be forever at a loss because of him.

I might have saved JAY LENO's life that night.

The problem here, apparently, is Tyler Perry's huge ego...upset that these cops didn't recognize him, nor immediately cower in fear, afraid to do their job. I have never seen a Tyler Perry movie, and I would not recognize him if I met him, either. Tyler has an attitude problem, and his racial profiling claim is baseless and an insult to every good American, and every cop on the street just trying to do their job to protect the public, while still going home safe to their family every day.

IN CONTRAST: Several years ago I observed a large SUV in the gold coast area, with a license plate holder that covered the state of origin, so I couldn't run the plate. I also had NO idea if the driver was a man or woman, nor which race, as I was behind this SUV, and yes, there was plenty of window tint, too. After curbing the vehicle in the driveway of his condo building, the window rolled down and it as Michael Jordan. I am not a big sports fan, but I did recognize Mr. Jordan, though I did not tell him I knew, so I could observe his attitude while he was experiencing a traffic stop. He was a complete gentleman, and VERY cordial, the entire time. I told him the reason for the stop. He replied that the vehicle is registered in Georgia, where he has family there. I asked to see his drivers license. He said he left it up in his condo unit. Since he had no I.D., just for fun, I said, "well can you tell me your name, then?" He got a big grin on his face and said, "yes, I'm Michael Jordan!" to which I replied, "I knew that, I was just messing with you," and we both had a good laugh. I could have taken him to 018 for a TVB for the license plate and fail-to-carry-DL violations, but of course I didn't. Again, at that time perhaps the most famous celebrity in the world, and NO ATTITUDE, just a very wonderful human being, who also had no problem being stopped by, and talking to the police.

Tyler needs some professional help for his anger and delusional issues. And I hope those Atlanta cops have the option of suing him civilly, for his false accusations of racial profiling.

Then he could claim that the white man is out to get him, then he would counter suit you for civil rights violation because you were preventing him from doing what he wanted to do, he would have high priced lawyers on his side, you would lose because you have a not so expensive attorney and the media would make you out to be the bad guy. Take the solar powered trash cans out of downtown and replace them with the wire basket types because they are too dangerous to have around with the "NATO" guess but they're okay for the churls of the city. The small businessmen and the middle to low income tax payer. Eff the security for the churls. The city must protect the dignitaries. Any security and protection the people get are a result of unintended consequences it seems.

It's funny to hear how self important they think they are to the world. They will spend ten minutes telling you all about their status.

And if they treat me civilly and act human they might get a break. Act like an a-hole and COUNT on posting some bond. Cause I really could not care who you are.

Most of the tickets or arrests to these "important people" are dismissed anyway. And I really don't care about that either.

I wonder what the hell is going on in this country when someone can murder, rape, steal from, abuse, and torture another human being and not only does society not care but neither do the courts. But if there is s suspected hint of racism, they set up the gallows. All criminals KNOW this fact. Its a way out of trouble. If someone commits some horrific crime and more than one race is involved, the criminal knows if they show big round eyes and shed a tear about the pain of racism, the public will abandon every instinct they have so they can smile about being progressive, just like their overpaid privileged college professor. This country forgets that if you as a person and not as a cop say that you dont like a race or culture its a FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT (as long as you dont infringe on anyone elses rights) . You can hate who the hell ever you want for any reason, and say it too. It might not be moral but its your right.

I said no, and then the fool assumes some kind of boxing stance. Feeling threatened, I hauled off with a right hook. I put all of my 5'8", 170 pounds into that punch, and knocked the tool out cold. I then rolled his dumb ass over, clicked him up, and patted him down. By now a few backup cars arrived, and all the guys were saying "you know who that is?" I said no, and they informed me it was Muhammad Ali. After a quick name check and a contact card, a groggy Ali apologized for acting silly, so I cut him.

It's a true story, it really is. Would I lie?

Or it is called good proactive police work. White kids in a Black neighborhood, stop them and ask questions. Black kids in a white neighborhood stop them and ask questions. You want to know how to run security and take back our city from thugs... Ask isreal

Why is it that every post for the past few years you guys talk about not writing tickets, not generating revenue, fuck this city I didn't get a raise so I'm not doing shit but now everyone here says they would have written him or that they write most people and no breaks. Which is it? You guys either don't write tickets or you're full of shit.

Drop the MCC and you have the muni code we use in Chicago for the Parker.

When I worked in the old 018th Dist. many years ago, I pulled over a number of celebrities, MJ and Oprah included. Both were class acts, no problems.
I think some celebrities are more annoyed that you
DON'T know who they are, then they are concerned
about what their actions were that drew your attention
to them in the first place.

The last time the Pope visited Chicago, he was picked up at the airport by a stretch limo. The Pope always wanted to drive one, so he asked the driver if he could drive the limo. Of course the limo driver said yes. The Pope is headed eastbound on 190 and likes the feel of the V8 engine, so he opens it up, pretty soon he's going over 100 mph. Eventually he gets pulled over by CPD. The Officer walks up to the limo, and the front window rolls down, the Officer immediately recognizes the Pope and goes back to his squad car. He radios, "I need a boss out here." The Dispatcher tells him all supervisors are busy, and asks what he wants. The Officer replies, "I need a boss, I got someone really heavy out here."
The Dispatcher asks, "What an alderman?"
The Officer says, "Heavier."
The Dispatcher asks, "The Mayor?"
The Officer says, "Heavier."
The Dispatcher thinks to herself, "Who is heavier than the mayor?" She asks "Do you have Oprah out there?"
The Officer says "Heavier."
Now the Dispatcher is getting annoyed so she asks the Officer, "Who is heavier than Oprah? Who do you have out there?"

The Officer pauses..."I don't know who it is, by the Pope is their driver."

Does anyone else see it!

It is an election year. Right
Suddenly there are racial claims flying all over the United States (first in Florida now in Georgia)we also had one here with the retired railroad cop that was shot over 20 times) Right.

Get ready boy and girls, here comes all the racial beefs from simple traffic stops or the rest of the type of jobs we handle everyday.

Next, the President will try to bring us all together.

We go thru waves of this racial abuse complaints .......

After curbing the vehicle in the driveway of his condo building, the window rolled down and it as Michael Jordan....

I have a feeling that claims of racism will start exploding. Now that the media has proven that they will manipulate the facts to create a racist slant. The media needs to be sanctioned for their unethical behavior in the Travon case. As far as this idiot. Get a life, who cares who you are. Your commited a traffic violation and got pulled over, how the hell is that racist.

About six years ago as I am walking out of the Bellagio in Las Vegas, I noticed a long line of people waiting for a cab.

About 50-60 people back, I see a beautiful buxom creature standing in line with two small children.

It was Selma Hayek.

There is no doubt she could have asked for preferential treatment and got it. With to toddlers in tow and the impatience that they typically have standing, one could hardly fault her for being put ahead of everyone else waiting.

But evidently, she's wired such that she knows she puts her pants on just like everyone else.

If I was a cop, I'd give her a pass...hell I'd make a pass. She's gorgeous and apparently not filled with airs.
