It's a Bird! It's a Plane!!
The government is warning small-plane pilots they could be shot down if they violate a no-fly zone in Chicago during the NATO summit.
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a flight advisory for May 19 to 21, banning non-commercial aircraft from flying within 10 nautical miles of downtown Chicago and below 18,000 feet.
“The United States Government may use deadly force against the airborne aircraft if it is determined that the aircraft poses an immediate security threat,” according to the advisory.
Should be a fun time.

General aviation is no threat; Daley destroyed Meigs, remember???
Better safe then sorry in my eyes. At the same time I would love to see the city burn just because then the mayor would notice we need more officer
Isn't it comforting to know that the US Government is willing to blast a plane out of the sky and let all the pieces rain down upon the people in order to protect the NATO dignitaries?
Not possible! Rahm keeps saying no one will be incnvenienced by NatoFest.
Thanks again Mr. Mayor. I now can imagine the remnants of some poor bozos plane raining down on my wife and kids too.
This NATO deal of yours keeps getting better and better. What a great deal. On the bright side, from what I've read about the other cities that agreed to host NATO in the past: It should only cost us tax payers in the neighborhood of $300 MILLIONS DOLLARS!
I wouldn't be flying within 50 miles of this city during NATO. In fact, I'm not planning on even being in Illinois!
THE CHICAGO AIR AND WATER SHOW IS BACK!
See. the new surface to air missile demonstrations for 2012.
Seating is limited so get your bunker seats early.
THAT'S NOW A COP SHOOTING RADAR ON LSD SHOWING UP ON YOUR NEW COBRA RADAR DETECTOR?
It's. a LOCK ON FROM THE NEW CPD SIDEWINDER. PATROL! WATCH THAT SPEED NEAR GRAMMAR SCHOOLS!
Keep those protective glasses on near red lights those new RUBY lasers will make you see spots for about a month without them.
But never fear the red light tickets are printed In braille on the back!
Some poor out of town slob gets lost in his plane and gets shot down by a Patriot missile. I love it!
This to keep the news choppers from broadcasting the events on the ground!
Why do we still have NATO? NATO was formed to combat the Warsaw pact. The Soviet Union along with the Warsaw pact collapsed years ago...
Does this mean we can use SAMs against the black block members holding Molotovs (that would be awesome )
Does that include news helicopters??
I double dog dare them.
Welcome to Amerika. Tell me the government is telling the truth whenthey say this will go off without a hitch. The Obama and Rahm regime do nothing but LIE.
I am not setting foot south of Belmont until the smoke clears and the rubble is swept up.
Good luck to the CPD and other first responders; you are gonna need it.
Don't shoot them down!! Send them the bill for sending 2 F-16's up to escort them down.
does that include DRONES????
Roy Scheider will be in Blue Thunder Protecting us.
I'm in the airline industry and I must say this is standard any time you have a VIP or high profile situation. You will see Temporary Flight Restricions (TFR) over any area which the President is in, or events like the Super Bowl. While the wording of deadly force isn't used, there is a "permanent" TFR over Disney World too!
PH2: Emergency, shots fired at PO's.
Here's an idea. All the police that are scheduled to work the NATO summit should all hit the medical the day of the protesters scheduled parade. Let these crazy fuckers go bananas and tear up the entire city. Let them storm McCormick Place and drag Rahm and all these other "dignitaries" out into the streets and cover them in shit and piss and then slit all their throats! After that, 99% of the world would deem the NATO-FEST a HUGE success!

What an asinine thing to say. If you'd love to see the city burn, I vote for YOUR house first.
Things that make you go hmmm.
Well let's see.
Suppose you have a plane that is traveling at 180 knots. That's three miles a minute. With a 10 mile no-fly zone that gives you about a 3 minute reaction time. A small business jet can easily double that speed and cut the time in half.
With that said are the fighter jets going to be patrolling 24/7 downtown or are the missile batteries being installed and manned 24/7 on the rooftops that the people are "OBVIOUSLY" not being told about because that's the way the Fed does things?
It's a rhetorical question.

No Missiles on Our Roofs Please, We’re British
East Londoners are balking at a 2012 Olympics security measure they say will make them a possible target of terrorism.

Residents of East London are worrying that they will be made terrorist targets after receiving letters from the Ministry of Defense announcing that high-velocity missiles (HVMs) may be attached to their roofs as a security measure during this summer’s Olympic Games.
Residents of the Bow Quarter – a complex of around 700 apartments near the Olympic Park – is the first of several other nearby areas that will be fitted with rooftop missiles as part of a strategy to prevent an airborne terrorist attack during the Games.

Shhhh, be verwy, verwy quite....
The motor says no one will be in convinced be NATO. I ask this question, how are they getting all those people from the airports to downtown? Over a hundred motorcades shutting down the Kennedy each time? Someone tell me the city now has a fleet of choppers.
I work in the superintendent's office, maybe thats why we received a coupon for a free glider ride to view the Chicago skyline on the weekend of NATO.

You are exactly right, any plane shot down (if there is a situation) will almost certainly land on residential populated land. Fuck the elite, erect a big tent somewhere south of I-80 and let them meet there.
So let me get this straight. Someone throws a molotov cocktail or a bottle of a biological weapon at you and you cannot fire back, but if grandma and granpa are in the Cessna 170 and get lost on the way to Palwaukee airport an F16 is going to turn them into carbon? Really?
Fuck the G ...let it burn.
Hopefully a plane will fly over 4228 N Hermitage...fuck you Racoon and fuck Amy too.
SCC, your headlines and sub-heads crack me up. Great writing. :)))
A couple stinger missles are always a great way to break up the monotony. Plus, it's always lots of fun watching the fast movers deploy their ordinance.
Londoners are still finding out about their wonderful Olympics -- a bunch of yuppers in some luxury building have just discovered that there will be men with surface-to-air missiles on their roof, as it is an ideal vantage point. They're having kittens.
Probably here we get the same for close-in, stationed in the security zone, plus air cover orbiting.
Not to worry, won't cost us a penny.
Check out the LA Times website for video of an attack by Occupy protesters on LAPD. Video is notable for a few things:
-- Protesters snuck up behind a line of police and were carrying a sign that actually was made of wooden pallets; they used it as a weapon to ram the officers. Their approach was very calculated.
-- They were masked and ran away immediately into the crowd. What are you guys doing about masked protesters? Don't they deserve extra attention? They're masked so they can pull stuff.
-- Easy to see why not enforcing the ridiculous eavedropping act (I know you guys like it, but it is ridiculous) makes sense. You wouldn't have the manpower to book all those people. As a protest, it's pretty much a joke, if you look at the video carefully. Almost everybody is taking videos with their recorders or their phones or their still cameras, just standing there filming the police who were maintaining their lines, peacefully.
-- Excellent reaction from LAPD, very cool heads. They were set upon and outnumbered. An over-reaction would have provoked violence and the officers might have had to use deadly force. Instead, they kept their composure, called for backup, and did not escalate the situation.
-- Excellent LAPD spokesperson, an on-the-ground one-star named Smith. The police are "facilitating" the protesters' exercise of their First Amendment rights. This is consistent with the Chief Charlie Beck culture of "constitutional policing."
-- A good job by the finest urban police force in the United States.
Lori Healey says bring your family down to the combat zone and "showcase."
Oh, I forgot. She's already finished with NATO -- she was on TV yesterday, gushing about the utter wonderfulness of the Restaurant Show.
Man. A couple of free meals, and she's "pwned," as the kids today snicker.
Most of the media here the same, afraid they'll get locked out of the salad bar...
Now THAT's what you call an Air Show.
Bring it on.
Fly some corporate jets out of Chicago Executive Airport (Pal-Waukee) and let's see how fast they shoot 'em down.
Let's see some A-10s just rip them to shreds.
I could hear Harry Caray announcing it, "WOW, look at that. Hey, pass me a Falstaff. Now THAT's entertainment."
Lets try a bullshit check!
Fly model planes around CITY HALL.
AND SEE IF THE MISS.
Riiiight..... You're going to shoot a plane out of the downtown sky. Innocent people on the ground hurt or killed by falling debris. Think of the lawsuits. Think of the children! Oh wait, I forgot. The government don't care. They'll raise taxes to cover the bill. They don't care about the children, they've killed US citizens before.

The A10 is a ground-attack plane meant to destroy armor. It would likely not be effective on small planes. It would, however, be impressive.
So they're willing to wipe out a neighborhood with untold amounts of civilian casualties caused by falling debris to protect a few politicians.
That's nice to know.
SCC check your previous stories. I do believe a Barrington women in a private plane was escorted out of the no fly zone by 2 F1, the last time Obama was in town. The faa post no fly zones online everytime the president & vp fly in. If iam not mistaken that is a weaker no fly zone for 50 heads of state. 20 mile radius when the 2 knuckle heads fly in to town.
Still remember the night when arrogant bastard Daley had the runways at Miegs Field plowed. And we let him get away with it. What a pompous son of a bith! He knew then that he could do whatever he wanted in this town and not worry about the taxpayers. Now he sits up in his cushy condo on Michigan Ave. and spits on us. Many talk shit about his father but he was a SELF MADE MAN who always had his hand on the pulse of the citizens.
Come see the Feds shoot planes out of the sky! This event is for the whole family! Bring the kids to see planes disintegrate before their very eyes!
Does that include news helicopters??

I sure they will get a special exception. Lets get the Aldercreature to pass an ordinance restricting them to 3000 ft. LA did it. Fucker are like cockroaches out there. Those assholes hover at minimums for 20-30 minutes at a time, waiting for there "live" shot. What a load of crap.
Why do we still have NATO? NATO was formed to combat the Warsaw pact. The Soviet Union along with the Warsaw pact collapsed years ago...
5/02/2012 07:35:00 AM
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Because the war mongers couldn't make money starting wars for profit if they got rid of it. No Warsaw Pact any more? No problem. NATO just becomes the world police for the New World Order crew. And we pay for it.
If you have check points, don't allow masked people in! Our names and faces must be visible. Them too, or not allowed in the march or red zone ! Exenmpts think of that. Plus to LAPD post, great reaction, maybe sarcasm, but if not, your tools that just showed "the whole world that was watching" that you can get away with this shit and more. Yep ... Great job getting hit with a sign.
Channel 9 News reports that the fortress-like "Federal" Reserve on La Salle will be shutting down for NATO -- but everyone else is supposed to keep their vulnerable small businesses open.
"Showcase!"
"A good job by the finest urban police force in the United States."

You are such a belly-crawling, ass-kissing syncophant, Andy.
"With that said are the fighter jets going to be patrolling 24/7 downtown..."
That's possible. It's what they did over Chicago after 9/11 and they perform Combat Air Patrols (CAPs, but not THAT CAPS) frequently when Barry is in town.
"Still remember the night when arrogant bastard Daley had the runways at Miegs Field plowed. And we let him get away with it."
Not only did he get away with it, the taxpayers picked up the tab for the FAA-imposed fine.
rb
"They don't care about the children..."
But Rahm & thirty six of the Fifty Idiots do! Speed cameras, ON!
If they shoot it... Where would it fall?
The media WILL NOT be allowed to fly over the"footprint". They acknowledged so last week in a meeting between the CPD and them.
Video is notable for a few things:
==================
LAPD Cops did good. For the most part, so has every other city PD in the US that has experienced these kind of protests in the last decade. Seattle had a moderately nastier situation but they handled it well too.
Note that the use of brute force by police was very targeted against those that needed it. As it should be. Not much in the way of serious complaints about how it was handled.
Look at how Chicago handled the protesters that camped out in a city park not long ago. The city handled that very well.
I think these knuckleheads have about run out of steam. They have not been able to provoke either the police or the politicians into acting stupidly as they have in other parts of the world. Chicago may be their last chance to do so.
Not a cop.

The A-10 can carry air-to-air missiles. I also suspect that the backwash/wake turbulence coming off an A-10 would rip the wings off a small plane if the pilot did a close fly-by.

Nice to know you're still hanging out with us, OCCUPY. Now, go away.
Will twinkle toes fiddle AND dance as the city burns? Don't shoot down the planes that encroach the no fly zone tax em and god forbid if they are enjoying a sugary drink boy are they gonna be in trouble!

Gee, thanks, but I'm sure we'll be able to erase that 'stain we earned in 1968' without your commentary or advice.
(And before some newbie jumps on me, read this person's offensive earlier comment about our Department.)
Air one will forget the transporter codes and countersign.
