My husband is out there with his fellow officers. I'm home praying for their safety. I don't think people understand the hard work Police Officers do every SINGLE DAY. You put yourselves in harms way to protect, to serve and to keep the peace and yet the media portrays you all as bullies. I hope that nothing happens to my husband today or any other Officer. But if something does, I will be on every news outlet saying the truth on how Rahm and McCarthy put you all in the middle of chaos without enough Officers or equipment!! Stay alert, safe and protect each other!
This is a class war and it's not local to Chicago and not even local to the USA.
Try Googling "Montreal" for example.
For 26 consecutive nights now there's been ten's of thousands in the streets. The latest numbers are quoting 20,000 protestors or more.
The bankers are running the same game as they did on the housing crisis that crashed the global economy and started all this with the too big to fail bailouts.
Seriously.
What started the mortgage crisis?
No doc loans, government subsidized loans, lack of banking regulation enforcement. Easy money.
What's going on now?
Now they shifted to student loans instead of mortgages, government subsidized and guaranteed with no bankruptcy allowed. Easy money
This easy money is causing tuition rates to soar like the easy money caused housing prices to soar.
This student loan debt bubble is now over one trillion dollars in the USA and represents more debt than auto loans or even credit cards.
The bankers are dancing, partying it up big time. You want another student loan guaranteed by the Federal government and taxpayers. Sure why not? Who cares if the person getting the money will ever get a job in their chosen profession or major. Eff that. The loan is guaranteed by the taxpayers! Whoo-hoo. Too bad for you if you bought into the concept of getting a higher education is ALWAYS the answer to a better life and standard of living.
FOOLS, now you have a six figure debt, a worthless graduate degree and a poverty job to pay it all back over the next 20~30 years if you're lucky.
Welcome to indentured servitude my friends. Do you see why there's protests going on?
Some will say IDGAF I got mine. I'm making my $80K a year. To them I say wait until you see what kind of retirement you have when the generation right behind you are all either unemployed or working poverty jobs with some over their heads in student loan debt and others the victims of public education cuts.
There will be no selling of your investments at a profit in retirement because no one can afford them. Just like the underwater mortgage many people have today. There's no wealth being generated by the generation right behind you to buy that house -- they are paying their student loans with their WalMart wages instead while still living at home.
There's no future here. What do you have to lose if you're in this position? Desperate people that see no future within the current system will do desperate things and I think this is only the beginning. One protest after another is the new norm. After NATO it's not over.
So how's this for hyprocrisy? Tom Morello, the former Rage Against the Machine guitarist, performed today at Petrillo and urged people to "fight economic injustice" and demand that the 1% support the rest of the economy.
Well, a quick check at celebritynetworth (dot) com shows that Morello is estimated to have a net worth of $60 million, putting him squarely in the top 1% of the 1%.
He's accumulated his fortune by selling out to things such as, making the musical soundtrack to "Talladega Nights" and "Anchorman," and being a featured musician for the "Guitar Hero" series of video games.
Do these sheep he's leading, and surely selling things to, even realize they're actively helping him do & be exactly what he pretends to "Rage" against?!?!
Lets see, 330 million people in America, so 99% must be the 800 that showed up Saturday night. About 100 of them were plainclothes police, FBI, Secret Service. About 150 were tourists that went along to see what happens. 120 were camera nuts looking for that photo op to make them a paparazzi. 100 were former hippies that survived the acid, heroin, cocaine trips, stayed in college years to avoid the draft, did nothing with their lives other than to abort a number of babies and are now searching for the meaning of life. 146 were guys that came downtown searching for loose liberal women with weed. 43 came from the hood looking for Iphones, Cameras, etc. 25 came down to sell weed. The 120 must have left their momn's basement and got one of the the (hundreds of buses from across the nation, according to Occupy folks.) That leaves the five Anarchists arrested.
It just occured to me that we have using the wrong approach with these Anarchist assholes. Notice that probably 1 in 50 may have a real job. They dress in stupid costumes like it is Halloween. Instead of throwing tear gas at these jagoffs...throw them CANDY! There you go! CANDY! The city could find some corrupt connected vendor to supply spoiled expired candy and little trick or treat bags for all the demented jerkoffs. They would be happy filling their faces with nice sugary treats.
Hats off to all the guys in 001 working their asses off. You guys are the shit and make us all look good. No i work across the river in 018 but have been listening to all the good work. Nice job
That is what happens when you have people in charge who were never really the street police. Who were never run into the ground, exhausted had to think on their feet and close with the enemy.
Oh, about tomorrow.
DAYS OFF CANCLED FOR FIRST WATCH PERSONNEL NOW FOR MONDAY.
THESE WHO HAVE HAD THEIR DAY OFF CANCLED WILL WORK 1900 to 0400.
W.T.F
Exhausted, pissed off and back in the fight, bad combination.
Great job from the bike teams. You were definitely the red headed step children yesterday. Should have deployed ALL of the sim teams, they were ready, suited, and itchy. The mob almost made it to the academy! Should have upped the bridges to contain them. Great work from everyone, also from the dispatchers on metro 2, studs at their job!!
Captain Rude Wedster is in the street at 21st & Michigan, shooting her loud mouth off and running around like a headless chicken. What an asshole! I'll follow her into battle. NOT!
Watching it live on WGN. I wish they would let you guys crack some heads!! These fucking people have a lot of nerve to come here and attack our police officers.
Remember officers, stick with your training. You're looking good. FUCK YOU COMMAND POST! You are all fucking asshole cock suckers!!!!!!!!!!! Platoons in full riot gear who are TRAINED AND READY and you refuse to use them. Then give these bullshit 'encouraging' messages over the air. You sound like a fucking asshat. You have officially ruined this department. Fuck you fuck you fuck you.
Watching our boys out there! I am proud of you, hold the line warriors. The supernintendo is out there. Kudos in my book. Be safe out there my bros and sis. I am proud to be a chicago police officer.
ALL THE BLUE SHIRTS, YOU HAVE MADE THIS CITY PROUD! What a show of professionaism, loyalty and love for your fellow copper and law abiding citizen. As we watch you with tears and deep gratitude on televisiĆ³n, wishing we where there with you. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. For all of us that have been there in protest past. We love you! The mayor, superintendent, president be damed. You are not only chicago's finest, but the valient contigency that doesnt allow for rahm to fall on his own sword. G-d bless.
Watching live on cltv now. Say what you want about Mccarthy but he's out there giving directions and was just helping on the front lines with his hands on an arrestee. Thats more than Weisel would ever do!!
We just heard A protester grabbed a coppers radio and ran into the crowd 3 min ago . This while I stand in front of Shitty Hall guarding 9.5 offices from the sidewalk...
Good job boss Mcarthy. Saw you leading from the front. Good to see the Boss out there. Other Supts would be at the command center That was great!! Havent seen that in 22 years as a cop. That's leading from the front!!! Was proud to see the Supt. on the same block as me.
I have to give Kudos to Supt. McCarthy. He is on the front line patting PO's on their helmets and getting physically involved as they fight off these protesters! Jody wouldn't have done it!
Don Lemon on CNN saying "The police are pummeling the protesters and they were unprovoked". Not sure what video he was watching but not it sure wasn't what they are showing on TV here in Chicago.
Kick some coward protester ass. Put a serious hurt on these chicken shit bastards. Thanks and more importantly stay safe. A South Loop resident who is not a cop.
Around 6PM - watching FOX TV (local) for last hour and a half. Seeing all the CPD in the front lines - GOOD JOB in restraining yourselves.
I would have given them an hour after 4:15(when their permit expired). After that- would have drove in big garbage trucks and had them drive the crowd back.
With all of the protesters with their cameras, my first baton hit would be to the camera lens, then to the solar plexus. (Saw one copper actually do this - promote that man!)
Not enough action (like '68). News anchors trying to hype it up saying the police and protesters are clashing. Not quite.
I see all these cops on the street and wonder - HOW MUCH MONEY ARE WE WASTING HERE???
Lori Healey and the rest of the rah-rah crowd can go jump in the Lake. Chicago isn't making any money with this NATO Conference.
Just the police tab has to be HUGE $$$$. Stay safe - but crack some of these idiots' heads!
Hang in there, guys & gals....you've done a great job so far...I have to say I was impressed with how McCarthy held his own against a horde of press (some openly hostile & accusatory of police 'instigating' violence last night) last night for an impromptu press conference. I've been retired for a while now, so I don't know the man, but I was impressed with how McCarthy handled himself with those reporters. He's also been on the front lines for ALL of this BS, and we all know Mr. J-FLED sure as hell would be 'monitoring the situation from his office at 3510.' Stay strong, all of you working this mess. It will soon be over. Put those folks where you want 'em, and keep 'em corralled!
Does the douche bag at the command center listen to the radio? I think he just likes the sound of his own voice. You're not motivating fuck-tard. You're a know nothing asshole
NBC (local 5) highly supportive and complimentary of CPD. Jody on ABC with dopey Cheryl Burton who clearly sides with protesters. At least from 5-7pm Sunday.
Bob Jordan of WGN is giving excellent commentary of the protest. Jordan's commentary explaining formations and more importantly when you put your hands on an officer you're going to jail,is on point.
I am so disgusted by these protesters. I am a military officer watching this on the news from another state. Being a Chicagoan, I am praying for all of you tonight.
Channel 7 news is showing the position of sharpshooters on the Field Museum roof. Their "security expert" Jody Weis never said a word while sitting next to these genius newscasters.
I was so shocked I could do nothing but shake my head. I hope someone's head rolls for showing footage like that.
Once again the brass shows that they are completely inept as leaders. We've got coppers falling out from dehydration and exhaustion while literally hundreds of coppers sit idly by waiting to relieve our brothers and sisters on the front lines. Worthless FUCKS. And to the Gold Star who's only contribution to this moronic circus is "remember your training, arrest any protestor that batters an officer, and your on live TV" over and over again. We get it you fucking suckhole puss head we are on our own you don't have our backs.
To the Men and Women of the CPD, You rock. What a wonderful job done by all. Thank you for keeping our city safe from these d-bags. I worked this entire weekend downtown and was blown away by your professionalism, friendliness, and show of force. God bless you all. Be safe and know that you are in our prayers and supported by the majority of citizens.
A few sparatic events but nothing major. It could be we were intimidating or that they knew we weren't like other cities. My thing is I really don't want this east coast dude takin friggin credit for this. It wasn't him. Our reputation has been around longer than this goof.
The police department has shown extraordinary restraint in the light of the abuse (yes, bricks, bottles and buckets have been thrown at the police and attempts have been made to disarm officers).
The right to protest is guaranteed, yes, but the right to commit acts of violence and destruction is NOT. Try reporting the shattered windows at Wabash and Jackson, for starters.
By the way, since Jody Weis has NEVER been a police officer and has no boots on the ground experience as a police officer, he has no business commenting or acting as a 'specialist' in these matters. Please stop giving him any credibility. WE know he has none.
Retired P/O here...Watched our troops on tv today and I thought they did a really great job under difficult circumstances. The hot weather was no fun either. Supt. McCarthy earned lots of points with me by being on the front line with his troops. Hopefully all goes as well tonight and Monday. We have a great police department and the last three days proves it to all.
Geart job by the guys and girls on the front line today you did all of us proud. Give McCarthey credit he was right there with the troops. I didn't think much of him before but he earned some respect today.
Impressed by everything I saw on the news and honestly very inpressed by your boss McCarthy being down there in the middle of things....say what you want but that was pretty cool of him to be there and not hidden away in some command center.
See BS news had "police clash with protesters" on their web site. How about "protesters clash with police". They don't miss a chance to take a cheap shot at the police. I would love to see jay "big nose" levine get arrested again. His pussy ass wouldn't be near the front line.
Stay safe out there cpd. Im not a cop but hope to be one, especially for chicago one day. You guys and girls watch out for each other. These hippies are here to cause violence and hurt innocent citizens and police. Im sure city residents have your backs as do many others including suburban people such as myself. Today im very proud (always have been of cpd) of how you all have handled yourselves amongst this shitshow of protesters. Its takes much restraint and patience to deal with scum like these protesters. You all deserve the world but unfortinately the brass and city wont give the brothers and sisters in blue the credit they deserve. So once again, thankyou for being the great officers most of us know you are and not the ones the bullshit media portrays. Proud of all you. Tony
This sure is not the 60's. While on post around Wabash/Roosevelt, one of the tough guy protesters with his bandana went into Starbucks for his coffee. No play should be given to NBC5 or especially Phil Rogers. This asshole called out a P/O's name and badge number when they pushing back a group at Michign/Cermak.
Congratulations Superintendent McCarthy on a great job! SCC I have to hand it to the guy. He is a Cop's cop. He was out there with us and was doing a great job. Even the media was impressed by us. The bike patrol team did a great job and so did the blue shirts on the front line. Bottom line we were professional in every way and so was our Supt. It was cool that he was on the front line with us. Outstanding!!! We finally have a leader for the Chicago Police Department. I know you will make fun of me for saying this but I think we have proved our worth and will receive a fair contract. Good job to all for today. One more day and it's in the bag. Congrats again Supt for a job well done.
As much as people rag on McCarthy, you've got to give the guy props for being right there. How many of the past leaders would be there, and not hidden in a van, or away from the action.
Stay safe, one more day...hopefully just one more.
I'm currently IOD so I can't be out there with my brothers & sisters in blue. I just want to show my support to all the officers out there working their asses off. I've never been so proud to be a Chicago Police officer after watching the way the CPD has handled themselves out there. I know its difficult with the bosses handcuffing you but you figured out a way around their bullshit and let the world know we are the greatest police department in the world. Stay strong and keep handing out those wood shampoos. May St. Michael watch over all of you and bring you home to your loved ones.
What a bunch of misguided fuck-ups. Yell in front of hotels that diplomats have already left for the day, yell at police who are not part of the 1%, and blame them for the policies they hate in Washington and on Wall Street. Makes no sense at all.
They really made a huge impact on those policies by taking our pictures and videotaping us, and chanting to each other since nobody else was there to listen.
Asking us why we had streets closed like we blue shirts invited NATO here and were responsible for the planning.
Dumb fucks, every single one. Insignificant nobodies, with nothing to offer. What a boring bunch--all follow the lead and nobody thinks for themselves. Not an original thought among them.
And too bad it didn't rain to wash some of the stink off of them.
What an ugly bunch. Ugyly personalities, ugly faces, ugly existences. Self-important, cookie cutters who chant the same things over and over to nobody but the people to their left and right.
SAW THE LIVE FEED, the SGT that went into the crowd and dragged that asshole out of the protesters is my hero.....great job... OFF topic need more support at UNION MEETINGS...
SCC- I watched live coverage today. I feel very proud of Chicago Police Officers today and equally so to live in our city which you all protect day in and day out. You are truly the finest of the finest. What a show of strength and control. Even under direct attack, CPD displayed courage, incredible tolerance, and 100x more brains than the witless zombies we know most of the UNINVITED are.
We are sorry that we were not allowed to join you guys downtown.
We have an absolute pussy for a Sheriff that couldn't make a decision, a correct decision if his life depended on it. However, I am told he was on 60 minutes talking about how he saved some dead people.
The rank and file patrolman in our department just can not stand this guy. We, along with our Sgts, Lts and exempts at Maywood are all in agreement on this. CPD morale on their worst day could not equal the morale at our HQ tonight. The fact that Milwaukee PD, ILEAS, the State Police and even the Secret Service all put in work while we were held hostage in Maywood is appalling at every level.
I pray to god that each and every law enforcement officer that is eligible to vote for our next sheriff remembers this day and when it is time to elect another sheriff that they vote Tom Dart out of office. I remember when Cathy Touhy was injured and CPD gave that POS judge who let the offender walk a shellac job at the polls. We need to do this again, except to Dart.
I am aware that you feel that all professional courtesy should be revoked for Cook County. I do not blame you. However, if you will look at the bigger picture and the painfully evident lack of LEADERSHIP being forced upon us, perhaps you will reconsider.
Just listened to WGN News...Bob Jordan and Jackie Bang are pro- police. One street reporter, Maggie Carlo, was definitely siding with protesters saying cops were "clubbing" them.
Take lessons white shirts on leadership from our superintendent. Great job on directing the operation. We showed those anarachist who we are!!! CPD!!! CPD!!!! CPD!!!!
Was on Mich. Ave at Hilton when circus went by. Bless all of you officers who had to walk next to these nitwits for so many blocks while listening to their bullshit.
I wanted to salute all of you. Those of us who had better assignments were thinking of you and praying for the best...we had headaches of our own, but absolutely nothing compared to the conditions you all had to endure. You guys and girls were awesome, and I'm sorry there wasn't a better way to spread the hurt among us.
Once again the men and women of the Chicago Police department have displayed tremendous Courage and Grace under pressure. When I was working we often talked about the fact that there was always a new "worst thing ever" The last two days fit into that category but you have, as always MADE US PROUD in Chicago. Thank you, stay safe
Seven year retiree here..watching this media circus. I have to say how proud I am of all of you. You officers are amazing! Stand strong we,re praying for you .
And believe me, all of you people are a lot uglier than any pig I've ever seen.
At least pigs have personalities and heart.
The protesters had neither.
Yawn. Sounded like parrots. Squawk! Squawk!!! Squawk!!!! Nothing original. Conforming non-conformists who think they're unique.
Why didn't the protesters go into the 011th District to recruit some of the people of color to join them? Why didn't they go to the meetings they were invited to in 011?
Because without a police escort, those protesters knew they'd get their asses kicked by the west-side residents....and they were too chicken-shit to go.
We should have bused in some 'folks' and 'people' to join in the fun.
I have not heard a single interview with a protester who could put together a coherent sentence. Not one. Not one could put forth a coherent thought.
What a waste of time. They should have done something more useful, like go to 011 and offer free housecleaning or lawn care to the unfortunate masses who live there.
So funny how many glowing comments for MCtalkingheadshot have been planted here tonite by McPR's PR. Hope you choke on your PR paychecks, PR chuckleheads.
Once again, sat for 12 hours. Then at the heat of the protest was ordered terminated because they didn't want to pay the 10 of us overtime. Can't complain, easy ass Nato for me, and I'm not a chosen one,I usualy get the shit details. Just lucky I guess. Be safe
Anonymous said... Don Lemon on CNN saying "The police are pummeling the protesters and they were unprovoked". Not sure what video he was watching but not it sure wasn't what they are showing on TV here in Chicago.
5/20/2012 05:54:00 PM
Don Lemon is a big asshole and CNN has always been anti-police. We just don't watch CNN.
Watched it all live on WGN. Out-freakin-standing job by the troops on the front lines not letting those smelly unwashed asshole protesters get the best of them. That shit could have spiraled out of control in the blink of an eye. Instead the men and women of CPD remained in control.
Damn fine job.
A citizen who appreciates all you do even if the asshats in the white shirts and sawed off little midget on the 5th floor of City Hall don't
Assume they are rope-a-doping you to learn your tactics and catch you by surprise on Monday.
I maybe giving them more credit then they deserve but it's best to be vigilant.
The CPD performed magnificently. Watching it live in a public place in 18 people were not pro trouble makers.
And the media and Durbin call the Tea Partiers extremists? What a joke. I was at the Chicago Tea Party in the Loop a couple of April's ago. The CPD had no problem with anyone. Though, the CNN crew did it's best to create an incident.
As I walked with my 8 yr old son to breakfast this morning In the south loop. I told him about the history of protesters in grant park. After breakfast i showed him the you tube videos of 1968. Then we stopped and talked with some of the all black uniformed officers deploying for the days festivities. A chance to show him what is good and right about this city. Later we watched you guys kick ass and he / we Had no doubt that you guys are professionals. Thanks
When it comes to the media McCarthy does speak better than all of our past superintendents and all of our current exempt. He talks from the heart and off the top of his head and answers questions without having to read from a piece of paper. Or sound like he is writing a report. Or say "no comment" and panic when feeling pressured. And he doesn't hem and haw in the middle of sentences, even kline did that all the time.
Sorry I gotta give the guy that much, because all past and current cpd exempts were horrid and embarraasing when speaking to the media. McCarthy isn't afraid of the media because he loves the camera as much as he loves the hooch. And he appears to be doing a great job at both!
Phil Rogers did a LOT of back pedaling later, when earlier this scum bag called out an officer by name and star number, who was pushing back protesters. He's a real piece of shit for doing that on national tv. So this officer will be tossed under the bus in a lawsuit thanks to PHIL ROGERS of NBC 5. Boycott of NBC 5!
Retired CPD here..Im from the old school guys, and I have to hand it to McCarthy. he out there mixin it up..He is the REAL PO-LICE!
Keep up the good work. Im proud of each and every one of you. Just for this weekend I wish I was back on the job to stand shoulder to shoulder with you people!
If Emmanuel messes with pensions after this, he needs his ass kicked but good!!
Watching it on tv on big island of hawaii. Thanks to the professionalism of cpd this is a non-story out here. Fox tv giving very good coverage to cpd. Hope all of those spoiled white middleclass kids wake up and get a job before they become burden to their aunts. Go with God CPD and CFD and may the road be kind to ye. Retired defense attorney from Crushed, Trampled and Assaulted!
It's ironic, when you think about it, why the protest today went relatively well:
1) The police have no faith in their leadership, and therefore, we see no point in engaging with protesters.
2) Due to this lack of faith, and the potential of disciplinary action, we see no point in engaging with protesters
3) Due to the fact that the dept. does NOT 'have our backs', we see no point in engaging with protesters
4) Due to the lack of respect, the city's failure to live up to its pension obligations, and its attitude toward us that we mean nothing, we see no point in engaging with protesters.
5) Due to the fact that Rahm and McStupe would flush us down the toilet in a heartbeat, we see no point in engaging with protesters.
The media is already kissing McStupid's toes. I was there. I didn't get ANY TRAINING. I wasn't told how to behave. The success of this debacle was due to each and every single ONE of us, who knew what we had to do, despite the vile taunts and acts by the protesters who profess they want peace.
Maybe it's good the second watch was out there. We know the game--seen it, lived through it--no fucking way were we going to respond to some assholes thinking they were taunting us by calling us names and sticking cameras in our faces.
#1 rule--go home safe.
I do have to say, I'm impressed McJ was out there, and I was shocked at his emotion in an interview. Maybe he's crossing over from the dark side.
Anonymous said... Congratulations Superintendent McCarthy on a great job! SCC I have to hand it to the guy. He is a Cop's cop. He was out there with us and was doing a great job. Congrats again Supt for a job well done.
24th Dist Ranger.
5/20/2012 08:46:00 PM
Oh my God, seriously get to the nearest ER! You are delusional from dehydration! And for God's sake, calling yourself a "24th Dist. Ranger" proves you are a hairgel. Old-timers who broke me in on this job when I came on in '86 would have cut you to ribbons.
Fuck the supe. It was every single officer on the line, not the fucking supe. We lost every single line we put up yesterday. Total chaos. Bike guys/gals pushed to the breaking point.
The success came from seasoned officers who knew what to do and how to respond to events not from any training from the CPD, but from spending years and years on the street, and putting what you've learned to work.
No fucking credit to bosses. We had to think on our feet. The situation was fluid. The credit goes to the blue shirts---YES, THE BLUE SHIRTS--who used their heads from their STREET EXPERIENCE, not from any training given for this event by the CPD.
A fair contract--where do you live, in a fucking fairyland?
We will never hear the end of McIdiot and Mc9.5 tooting their own horns about how great they are. Fuck you both. It was us, us, us, on the street.
Anonymous said... This was a lock-up a protester party BABY
5/20/2012 08:20:00 PM
Oh, yes. That was on my bucket list--idiot. Good Lord, I don't know what is worse--the mindless repetitions of babble or the constant mindless chatter.
Retired CPD and very proud of our brothers and sisters showing the utmost professionalism! Our Superintendant deserves kudos as well! Wish I was out there!
Remember that rahm wants to fuck us on retirment age and pension contributions not to mention swiping in and out. Why are we risking our safety for this bullshit? Keep it in mind and stay safe.
As a city employee I just want to say thank you to ALL of CPD. You made me proud to be a Chicago citizen by the way that you handled those that were intent on destroying our city in the name of "Anarchy". Keep up the good work and remember that most of the city is in full support of your efforts.
Bravo Zulu CPD. Watched events unfold on Channel 9 from the comfort of my air conditioned living room.
After attending the CCC "Gang Book" roll-out, I wasn't really impressed with CPD Superintendent. Today he express himself as more than window dressing, surrounded with good leadership. Reminded me of legendary CFD Commissioner Quinn today.
Impressed with the crowd control use of force tactics and strategies. Very effective for this battle against these plausibly deniable special forces using a lawful civilian protest as cover for subversive activities. No doubt the "invisible committee" overlords are reviewing the films, preparing to exploit any perceived weakness.
I've never been prouder than I was today of our officers! Showed great restraint and professionalism! Hats off to the Supe for being out there leading from the front! He scored major points with me and I'm by no means a supporter. Also job well done by car 100, 2200, 6700, 1800, as well as the front line supervisors out there with the blue shirts getting it done!
An amazing job done by our uc officers imbedded in the crowd relaying critical info to command!
One more day to go boys and girls stay safe!
Speedy recovery to all injured officers!
Ps lay off the dispatchers and Homan Command; yes it sounded redundant but it was nice to hear encouraging words for those with radios.
To my favorite men and women, you were on the world's stage and came off like the pros you all are. Now if the city will help Tom Skilling a bit with a water cannon these things could be shut down quickly with fewer IOD's.
We get it you fucking suckhole puss head we are on our own you don't have our back
You are an idiot. That guy on the radio did an excellent job at directing operations, motivating troops, and helping to maintain composure. Reminding people that they were on live television helped keep people's temper in check.
Don Lemon can go to hell. He said "So the question is, did the protesters start this or did the police just go in clubbing people." EYES MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU HAVE THEM??!!
"Good job boss Mcarthy. Saw you leading from the front. Good to see the Boss out there. Other Supts would be at the command center That was great!! Havent seen that in 22 years as a cop. That's leading from the front!!! Was proud to see the Supt. on the same block as me.
5/20/2012 05:36:00 PM"
Unfortunately, while it gets everyone all warm and fuzzy to see him 'leading from the front', that's not his job. His job is to assess the situation from a neutral location so he can make unemotional decisions. This isn't Braveheart.
Thanks to all of you who have been out there in the thick of things, especially the bike unit. My thoughts are with you today, wishing that everyone gets home safe and in one piece tonight.
To ALL CPD officers... Extremely proud of you!! You exercised extreme restraint and exhibited extreme professionalism in the face of danger!! Come contract time...you deserve and certainly earned your pay/benifits etc...hopefully that will be remembered and not taken away from the brave men/women of the CPD who protected our city and prooved to the entire world what it means to be the BEST police department in the world!! Thank you all for your heroism, professionalism and for making us proud once again!! God bless the CPD
Don Lemon is a big asshole and CNN has always been anti-police. We just don't watch CNN.
5/20/2012 11:10:00 PM
Lemon and Huberman once had a domestic at their boy's town residence, previous to Lemon leaving Chicago's WMAQ-Channel 5 for CNN. He is Huberman's ex-top jockey.
Anonymous said... Anonymous said... Congratulations Superintendent McCarthy on a great job! SCC I have to hand it to the guy. He is a Cop's cop. He was out there with us and was doing a great job.
24th Dist Ranger.

5/21/2012 12:31:00 AM
"Seasoned officers"; yes. But not you. You sound like some grumpy old fart who was pissed off that his daily routine of coming in on days, having coffee, lunch, maybe handling a few paper jobs and then ducking early was interpreted by NATO. Sorry. I was there and I agree with the guy from 24. I'm not quite ready to elevate McCarthy to sainthood but I respect the guy for being there with us. We're certainly quick to criticize him for something we don't like. Morons like you should shrivel up and go away.
Who is the freaking idiot sgt.on the radio all day telling us to be nice and stick with your training while we are getting bricked. Embarrassing!
probably just a guy that was reminding you to use what little training you recieved prior to this cluster fuck and to stay within the guildlines of what is a reasonable use of force. Might save a policeman doing something that would end in a lawsuit and or disiplinary action.I was not there. Just an opinion
5/21/2012 06:51:00 AM
OK Jody---you had your chance honey. It's time to go home now.
12;58 YOUR ANOTHER INSIDE HOUSE CAT THAT WISHES HIS PERSONAL FRIEND WAS MADE SUPER SO YOU COULD GO ON BEING A HOUSE CAT AND NOT DO REAL POLICE WORK, RTD, 11 YEARS AGO AND I SEE THAT THE OLD BOY NETWORK WITHIN CPD STILL PERSISTS,TAKE A CUE FROM THE PRESENT CPD SUPER AND GET A SET OF NUTS,
Once again the brass shows that they are completely inept as leaders. We get it you fucking suckhole puss head we are on our own you don't have our back
You are an idiot. That guy on the radio did an excellent job at directing operations, motivating troops, and helping to maintain composure. Reminding people that they were on live television helped keep people's temper in check.
I thought the direction was excellent.
5/21/2012 05:51:00 AM
Good grief. You are an idiot. Are you sure you aren't from the other side?

24th Dist Ranger.
I really wish we could learn who you are. You are such a complete ass kisser. Fair contract from Rahm? He has violated every labor contract is this city. Look what happened to the teachers. Then he changed the teamster's labor contract. We are next after nato. Rahm said we did the job we are paid to do, nothing more. The mayor negiotates conracts not the supt, you idiot. I want to hear from you in one month about the contract, asshat. BTW, did you work the street, ranger?
SAW THE LIVE FEED, the SGT that went into the crowd and dragged that asshole out of the protesters is my hero.....great job... OFF topic need more support at UNION MEETINGS... ___________________________________
Saw that too. Great job! They were looking all over for that masked black guy. Was coordinating the Black Bloc with a walkie talkie. The Sgt. spotted him and went and got him. He had a big bottle with white liquid in his backpack, supposed to have been Sulfuric acid.
"Seasoned officers"; yes. But not you. You are so totally off-base. I was there too, and happy to go. You guys who call yourselves 'rangers' and the rest of that crap just haven't learned the game yet. Some day you will have the benefit of experience, and time on the job. You've got a lot to learn. I hope you learn sooner, rather than later, because right now you are a know-it-all kool-aid drinking dreamer who will wonder why your ass hurts after you are screwed with no lube.

careful and god bless CPD

So proud of CPD even the protesters can't help but to compliment the professionalism.
Much bigger crowd than yesterday. No probs yet. They headed to McCormick pl
1500 hrs : Blac Blocs throwing water bottles (tossing, as WBBM reporter put it) at police.
No police response to this action ... yet.
Be advised: those green hatted Lawyers Guild are their handlers. I saw one give orders that were followed.
Nice job
I actually like the comment that EPA dude made - which got him fired:
"The Romans would enter a village, crucify the first 5 people they encountered, and thereafter, that village was easily managed"
Too bad the cops have their hands tied.
They are RWOC all the arrests so why the fuck should we arrest anyone. Fuck this place.
NOT!
Have been listening to Radioman911.com, and it seems someone is trying to jam Citywide 5...
Curby is running scared and hiding in the back at 22nd Michigan. USELESS!

PD is dispersing the increasingly violent crowd. NBC guy thinks they have an LRAD. True/false?
These idiots are scarce in Wrigleyville, too many baseball fans waiting to smash thief heads.
Stay safe everyone!!!
Yep, there's the squad with the LRAD on it. Haven't activated it...yet.
Watching our boys out there! I am proud of you, hold the line warriors. The supernintendo is out there. Kudos in my book. Be safe out there my bros and sis. I am proud to be a chicago police officer.
CPD IS SHINING TODAY!!!
G-d bless.
watching the news now and am in awe of the CPD and their utter professionalism and restraint.
Thank you all for protecting our city...my hat is off to you all...
Who is the freaking idiot sgt.on the radio all day telling us to be nice and stick with your training while we are getting bricked. Embarrassing!
Good job boss Mcarthy. Saw you leading from the front. Good to see the Boss out there. Other Supts would be at the command center That was great!! Havent seen that in 22 years as a cop. That's leading from the front!!! Was proud to see the Supt. on the same block as me.
what a job Mc Nutty looks like the Pills Berry Dow Boy. Ill stand behind you way behind you.
I have to give Kudos to Supt. McCarthy. He is on the front line patting PO's on their helmets and getting physically involved as they fight off these protesters! Jody wouldn't have done it!
Question - My wife works in the Prudential Building and we told to stay home Friday and Monday but is this shit going to carry over to Tuesday?
Why do they have mounted officers putting on masks?
Shouldn't a mounted officer leave with his mount when teargas starts flying?
Don Lemon on CNN saying "The police are pummeling the protesters and they were unprovoked". Not sure what video he was watching but not it sure wasn't what they are showing on TV here in Chicago.
Kick some coward protester ass.
Put a serious hurt on these chicken shit bastards.
Thanks and more importantly stay safe.
A South Loop resident who is not a cop.
Word is protesters are going to storm the first district station... sending units to surround the 1st dist
One enormous mistake.
You never underestimate your opponent. Driving the wagons through the crowds without infantry support was incredibly stupid.
If this crowd had been a touch more hostile, that right there would've been a flashpoint that may have lead to flipped wagons.
Not a LEO, JAFO
Jody Weis is ABC 7's Security expert. yeeeah...
Hang in there, guys & gals....you've done a great job so far...I have to say I was impressed with how McCarthy held his own against a horde of press (some openly hostile & accusatory of police 'instigating' violence
last night) last night for an impromptu press conference. I've been retired for a while now,
so I don't know the man, but I was impressed
with how McCarthy handled himself with those
reporters. He's also been on the front lines for
ALL of this BS, and we all know Mr. J-FLED sure
as hell would be 'monitoring the situation from
his office at 3510.' Stay strong, all of you working
this mess. It will soon be over. Put those folks
where you want 'em, and keep 'em corralled!
Does the douche bag at the command center listen to the radio? I think he just likes the sound of his own voice. You're not motivating fuck-tard. You're a know nothing asshole
watchin' it live. mccarthy on scene. showin some balls. great job by all. lookin real professional. i'm guessin big trouble later. STAY SAFE!
retired on 2004
NBC (local 5) highly supportive and complimentary of CPD.
Just got done watching NBC5.Nice job front line Officers.
Retired 2 years ago.
Continue to be Safe.
Excellent patience and restraint by police at 22 and michigan. Divide and conquer moves were done quietly, calmly and artfully. Very good job by all.
I still hate kerby just because.
Awesome work guys! Great coverage by Ch 5, prop-police all the way!!!!!!
Props to McCarthy, he was on the front line like no other Supt!
Wyzinger there too.
Yes I am the police!
To the Men and Women of the CPD,
You rock. What a wonderful job done by all. Thank you for keeping our city safe from these d-bags. I worked this entire weekend downtown and was blown away by your professionalism, friendliness, and show of force. God bless you all. Be safe and know that you are in our prayers and supported by the majority of citizens.
Be safe officers. My prayers are with you.
Come home tired, hungry and grumpy but please come home safe.
Down on unwashed heads.
Justly deserved baton blows.
Let the red thugs bleed.
A few sparatic events but nothing major.
It could be we were intimidating or that they knew we weren't like other cities. My thing is I really don't want this east coast dude takin friggin credit for this. It wasn't him. Our reputation has been around longer than this goof.
Dear Channel 7 - abc news:
Clusterfuck clusterfuck clusterfuck.
Did I mention it was a clusterfuck?
Retired P/O here...Watched our troops on tv today and I thought they did a really great job under difficult circumstances. The hot weather was no fun either. Supt. McCarthy earned lots of points with me by being on the front line with his troops. Hopefully all goes as well tonight and Monday. We have a great police department and the last three days proves it to all.
Geart job by the guys and girls on the front line today you did all of us proud.
Give McCarthey credit he was right there with the troops. I didn't think much of him before but he earned some respect today.
GREAT JOB CPD/ISP !!!!!!!!!!!
BE SAFE !!!!
Impressed by everything I saw on the news and honestly very inpressed by your boss McCarthy being down there in the middle of things....say what you want but that was pretty cool of him to be there and not hidden away in some command center.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Not a cop !
Great job today CPD! made the citizens proud!
Job well done CPD!!
Retired
CPD kicking some ass.Great job.
See BS news had "police clash with protesters" on their web site. How about "protesters clash with police". They don't miss a chance to take a cheap shot at the police. I would love to see jay "big nose" levine get arrested again. His pussy ass wouldn't be near the front line.
Those guys on the front line made me proud today. 6o home in one piece.
Tony
This was a lock-up a protester party BABY
Saturday was a massive clusterfuck. Sunday was no doubt Gameday. OUTSTANDING JOB HEROES.
CPD-- Outstanding job-
Congratulations Superintendent McCarthy on a great job!
24th Dist Ranger.
Thank you CPD. The few hours of the coverage I watched live...you guys did a great job of at the same time being forceful yet restrained.
I know you guys have some problems with McCarthy but I thought it was good to see him on the front lines supporting the effort.
Good luck tonight will say a prayer for you guys. <3
Idiots. Although that is too nice of a term.
SAW THE LIVE FEED, the SGT that went into the crowd and dragged that asshole out of the protesters is my hero.....great job... OFF topic need more support at UNION MEETINGS...
I will never crack jokes about the bike unit.. u guys worked your ass off and still are.. I salute u brothers and sisters in blue
Lots and lots of citizens clapping us on the back and thanking us. Nice to see.
URGENT MESSAGE FROM THE SHERIFF'S POLICE:
Phil Rogers showing huge support to the police on the 10pm news.
thank you from a civilian, for protecting our city.
Does anyone have the 'Chicago Police--Red Rover Champions 2012' photo?
SCC- check this out- NBC is allowing therefore supporting anti-law enforcement comments after after four CPD are injured including one stabbed.

Thank you. I hope you get some rest.
GREAT JOB BY THE CPD TODAY!! Proud to be from Chicago and proud to be the daughter, sister and niece of Chicago's Finest!
Sgt Looney, you are true to your name ya dousch nozzle.
CPD looks awesome on TV, stay safe guys, from NIPAS MFF, all of us wish we could be with you there...believe me...
Great Job by the CPD today. Very proud to be from such a great city!
You all proved today why you are CHICAGO'S FINEST!!
Seven year retiree here..watching this media circus. I have to say how proud I am of all of you. You officers are amazing! Stand strong we,re praying for you .
To the first 2 comments: YOU'RE BORING!
And the police don't deserve any raises? Fuck this city.
Black bloc meet the Blue bloc
So funny how many glowing comments for MCtalkingheadshot have been planted here tonite by McPR's PR. Hope you choke on your PR paychecks, PR chuckleheads.
Once again, sat for 12 hours. Then at the heat of the protest was ordered terminated because they didn't want to pay the 10 of us overtime. Can't complain, easy ass Nato for me, and I'm not a chosen one,I usualy get the shit details. Just lucky I guess. Be safe

"Protest Parade Beginning"
What are we protesting?
Rahm's failure to hire more police officers?
Rahm's deliberate circumvention of the contract?
The department's failure to promote anyone in recent memory?
Nice work CPD. Keeping city safe, and those silly kids safe too.
So far, so good, as far as I can tell.
Don't underestimate these Anarcists.
Let's be careful out there.

I'm proud of my fellow brothers in that mess. I'm happy that everyone went home safe. God Bless you all. P.O

Great professionalism displayed by the CPD. You are Chicago's Finest. Good application of wood shampoo to the deserving recipients.
As I walked with my 8 yr old son to breakfast this morning
In the south loop. I told him about the history of protesters in grant park. After breakfast i showed him the you tube videos of 1968. Then we stopped and talked with some of the all black uniformed officers deploying for the days festivities.
A chance to show him what is good and right about this city. Later we watched you guys kick ass and he / we
Had no doubt that you guys are professionals.

I hope everyone is safe and gets some sleep.

24th Dist Ranger.

Oh, yes. That was on my bucket list--idiot. Good Lord, I don't know what is worse--the mindless repetitions of babble or the constant mindless chatter.
So sad.
Mc Nutty was only out there for the Media attention! He did nothing but parade in the "safer" areas. Please! He is just trying to keep his job!
Retired CPD and very proud of our brothers and sisters showing the utmost professionalism! Our Superintendant deserves kudos as well! Wish I was out there!
Always appreciated CPD, today was amazing! N TSA loves you;-)
Remember that rahm wants to fuck us on retirment age and pension contributions not to mention swiping in and out.
Again, Bravo Zulu, CPD.
Who is the freaking idiot sgt.on the radio all day telling us to be nice and stick with your training while we are getting bricked. Embarrassing!
5/20/2012 05:35:00 PM
Its the master of ceremonies brother S.G.
Down on unwashed heads.
Justly deserved baton blows.
Let the red thugs bleed.

We get it you fucking suckhole puss head we are on our own you don't have our back

I thought the direction was excellent.

Does anyone know the exact days of NATO? I'm starting to get geared up! Thxs in advance
WTF!!!!! Cancel my normal 5B furlo and I'm sitting home today on my RDO!!!! Wonder how that grievance is going/went? Anyone hear anything?
Who is the freaking idiot sgt.on the radio all day telling us to be nice and stick with your training while we are getting bricked. Embarrassing!
probably just a guy that was reminding you to use what little training you recieved prior to this cluster fuck and to stay within the guildlines of what is a reasonable use of force. Might save a policeman doing something that would end in a lawsuit and or disiplinary action.I was not there. Just an opinion

Saw that too. Great job! They were looking all over for that masked black guy. Was coordinating the Black Bloc with a walkie talkie. The Sgt. spotted him and went and got him. He had a big bottle with white liquid in his backpack, supposed to have been Sulfuric acid.
