Summer Coming

  • Lots of heat and humidity are on the menu for the Memorial Day weekend, with an especially hot Sunday looming.

According to the forecast from WGN-TV meteorologist Tom Skilling, temperatures should climb into the 90s on Sunday and Monday.

Skilling is predicting a high of 97 Sunday – say hello to summer. If it does get that high, it'll break a record of 94 for that date that has been around for 101 years and become the hottest temperature reached so early in the season, Skilling said. It'll also be nearly 30 degrees above normal.

Stay hydrated folks. And stay aware of the tendency for shootings to rise if you're working, regardless of what McCarthy thinks.

Gonna be the same bullshit as last year. Decent folks won't be able to set foot at the lakefront or Michigan Ave.

I volunteer to drive the LRAD-equipped vehicles left over from NATO, bellowing orders to beach goers to vacate the sand and surf whenever "the temperature" justifies such closures.

We DO still have 40K worth of these fancy bullhorns, right? Or have they gone missing already?

Raise the beam on the ol' Doppler radar, Tommy me boy ,so we can detect hot incoming lead!!!

Order North Avenue Beach to close. If it was closed last Memorial Day weekend at 83 degrees...God knows what this 97 degree jungle heat will do to the natives.

Sure wish Rahm would stop dickin around with the install of the school zone speed trap cameras. Cuz they would of caught the people that done this.

Two 17 year olds and a 15 year old child was shot last night.

THE CHILDREN RAHM, tell us again how so concerned you are about the safety of THE CHILDREN!

3 dead, 5 wounded in South and West side shootings

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-shootings-south-side-west-side-violence-guns-gangs-may-26-may-25-20120525,0,2852644.story

"...A crowd surrounded and hassled paramedics at the scene and they couldn't drive the ambulance away, police said. Paramedics called "10-1," a distress call for first responders, which prompted police from across the district and a neighboring district to race to the area. Paramedics loaded both victims into a single ambulance and drove a few blocks away to stabilize them before transferring one to a different ambulance so they could go to different hospitals..."

Kind of sounds like a riot to me yet no riot squad in position, no horses, no LRADS, no helmets, no south side command post set up like we told you to do. THAT's how much Rahm cares about THE CHILDREN.

Rahm cares more about corporate property getting paint on it or a window broken more than he does THE CHILDREN. Rahm will spare no expense even though the city is bankrupt to protest corporate physical possessions. People lives however are another matter with this guy and that not only includes worthless gang bangers but the officers that are put into harms way because of them.

BTW what happened to the three-quarters of a million dollars that was confiscated at the last drug raid. Seems to me that money should go into the pensions funds or to put what..about seven more coppers on the beat for a year? Where's all that other drug money that's been confiscated gone? How about some transparency and accountability. That money is not in the budget and I would like to know where it's being spent! Do we use it to pay for the x-mayors bodyguards and drivers? Maybe it's the alderman's bodyguards and drivers? Where does it go?

Anyways, what's the over/under for tonight's south and west side shootings. We should hit double-digits tonight don't you think?

Hey what's the procedure to sign out that quarter of a million dollar waste of money no-bid contract twenty-five foot mobile tower sniper perch that the city rushed to purchase for NATO?

Deer season is around the corner don't ya know. That tower is just sitting in the garage gathering rust and we should use it.

Heh..

Damn thing looks like a death trap for crowd control doesn't it?

With that bucket 25 feet up in the air that van looks like it would be that much easier to tip over regardless of any ballast weights.

Imagine if the ground that it's on is not level like if two wheels on one side were on a curb or something!

The scissors lift reminds me of that college kid photographer that died when the schools lift blew over in the wind at that football game a while back. Not sure where that was. Indiana I think.

Anyways, talk about a waste of money.

The media tries to make it sound all high tech that it has an infra-red camera installed and like that makes it worth the money. Hell you can buy a pro-consumer camera with that technology for under a grand.

In fact you could probably assemble a mobile 25ft scissor lift from a lift like construction and roofers use, stick a couple cameras and radios on it for half the price and have the same technology.

Rahm will tell us not to worry about it. That the money to buy the lift was from a Federal grant and therefore the Illinois taxpayers didn't have to pay for it. To which I say since when are Illinois taxpayers exempt from Federal Income tax that makes up the Federal grants?

Talk about money laundering and rackets.

Rahm Emanual is a failure.

Girl, 4, critically injured in hit-and-run

A 4-year-old girl is in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital after being hit by a car in the Englewood neighborhood this afternoon.

The car was traveling northbound on the 7100 block of South Normal Avenue when it hit the girl, said Chicago Police Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti, a department spokeswoman.

The car fled, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Rahm, You say the school zone speed trap cameras are to protect the children and here we sit almost four months after your bill was approved and you have nothing to show us. Not one damn camera installed.

If you were a project manager assigned this task in the private sector your ass would have been fired about a month and a half ago Mr. Mayor of the 1&.

But then again is there a school or park near 7100 S. Normal?

Well it doesn't matter because Mayor 1% only cares about the safety of the children during certain hour and days of the week when we'll have the camera's turned on.

You know like when it's prime rush hour and we are to generate the most cash from them.

Meanwhile...

A six year old girl get's shot in the arm tonight and what do we here on the news? Gary McCarthy would like to know who slashed the tires on one of the CPD vans and he wants the public's help.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?

"THE CHILDREN" of this sanctuary city are dropping left and right from gun shot wounds and you people are worried about physical property? A van's tires! Fixated on some political protest movement. Pulling out all the stops and spare no expense to find out who punctured some tires.

Your priorities are eff'd up. This is some Showcase you're running. It looks like a corrupt third world banana republic not a World Class City.

Just so they can hold the savages at bay a North Ave, beach.

Can't have that embarrassment , can we?

The Rotten Raccoon Meter for the Children. Did anyone else see the meter for what every child owes for our pensions on the City website? The Rotten Raccoon is using this inflammatory political tactic to turn the public against city workers.

The Rotten Raccoon is asking for our input concerning "reforming" our pensions.

Stop using the children as political pawns to begin with you hypocrite. How many of these kids educations did I pay for with my income and property taxes? Since I'm single with no kids, I paid plenty.

So screw the Rotten Raccoon and his "reforms." I earned the pension, so pay me.

Do you really think a speed camera would have kept that child from being hit? If so, you live in dreamland. All it will do is send the owner, NOT the DRIVER, of the car a ticket.

As for installing the cameras, THEY ARE ALREADY INSTALLED. Every red light camera IS already a speed camera.

You'll be able to rack up your hundred dollar speeding tickets soon enough; Hamilton Park is .1 miles from 7100 S. Normal.

The law isn't in EFFECT until 01 July. No matter HOW many cameras are installed, they CAN'T BE USED UNTIL THE LAW GOES INTO EFFECT. What part of this don't you understand?

That is YOUR personal problem.

NATO IS OVER.

Shut up, Andy. Shut up and go away.

You don't even resemble a man, no matter how much of this big, dangerous-sounding police talk you soak up here.
