You are preaching to the choir SCC! Why is it the bad guys never seem to get older?

You deserve a break. Thanks to all you did out there in addition to keeping SCC going at all.

Have a few beers, get some sleep.

I agree with the 'getting old' part. Those days took a toll, along with working 10 days straight. Ugh.

You're entitled, SCC. Take all the time you need. Just happy to see you made it through the insanity out there.

Well if this goofy NATO did anything, it has brought to the forefront what so many of us already knew, and that is that our CPD does a great job. I am just a citizen but have always appreciated the hard and often thankless job you do. The toll it takes on your families and loved ones. Truly, there are more of us than you may think. I only hope that people will somehow realize that what they saw on the news or the newpapers was just a small, small portion of what you face on a daily basis, and often worse. So keep up the good work, bask in the accolades - you deserve them.

I am grateful that less protestors showed up than anticipated and that no one in the crowd was a suicidal maniac, or all could have been different. Being newly retired, I hunkered down on the home front waiting for all hell to break loose in the 'hood, but life seemed to be normal. Thanks you for a great showing and hope FOP can replay those tapes for the good mayor.

SCC- Sitting on a powder keg day after day, night after night, with adrenaline popping off all around you, had to be draining beyond belief. Glad you're ok but take the time you need to recover. We'll still be here whenever you're ready to rock and roll again. Huge hugs from a very loyal fan- my 6th year with you now! What a gift you've given your faithful readers, our Windy City and, especially, your brothers & sisters-in-arms. Be well! :)

Hey SCC? Y'all come on down to Flawida! Baking the ol' bones ain't bad. Specially when flights leave many times a day to the frozen Chosen.

I would also like to give thanks to the undercover officers that worked with these people the past few months and were in the mix of the crowds. This would have been a lot worse without their help.

We city workers got a gift with our check today from Raccoon eyes. He wants suggestions on how to reduce our pensions and wants input. Here's my input:

FUCK YOU PAY ME.

That is all.

Which is why Policemen SHOULD be allowed to draw full pensions with 25 years of service regardless of age!

Jealous haters can shit talk all they want about "50 to 55 year old cops getting a pension" but Policing IS a young man's game!

to put things in perspective the cpd deals every day with similar type events. it maybe on a smaller scale, but its the same, dealing with the public. we are the referees in the game of life and we cant please everyone. the public seen on a large scale what pos have to deal with on daily basis, and restrain from knocking the dog shit out of malcontents.

When you catch your breath can we have a post about people working their 6th and 7th consecutive day and what they need to do? Per the Sgts contract section 20.3 you are entitled to overtime in you are in a pay status and work 6-7 consecutive days during the workweek. The workweek is Sunday-Saturday. This applies to lots of people due to days off being cancelled for NATO. MLA is trying to tell people it doesn't apply in this case.

Speaking of Contracts...

I hope Lieutenants and Sergeants were Watch Commanders (or as McDufass and O'Kneel to Rahm now call it "District Station Supervisor") or other Out-of-Graders put in their Out of Grade Authorization Slips along with those blue comp time slips.

The Feds will have to honor our contracts even if Rahm wants to trash them.

Now that you had your moment Garry take your shinebox and go back to New York. We got a lot of damage from you and Weis to undo.
