Not to mention the complete meltdown of his personal life. And election that could go either way since he hasn't been around to campaign in almost two months.

- Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota “for extensive inpatient evaluation for depression and gastrointestinal issues,” according to a statement from Jackson sent late Friday by Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo.
Jackson’s whereabouts have been a mystery since he went on medical leave June 10. The statement issued Friday said the congressman “has arrived at Mayo Clinic,” but did not say where he came from.

Actually, depression is fairly common in patients who have had bariatric surgery, as are other issues that might manifest themselves as "stress." I know this because I know several people that have had the surgery. Just sayin'...

I mean if he was so ill why did he not go to the Mayo in the first place inquiring minds would like to know?
Nevertheless, everyone needs to just back off now and allow the man his privacy and pray for him to regain his strength....just like the brass does for the beat cop. Ya know Chicago's family values and all that crap.
..and if the mayor didn't shut down all those mental health clinics Jesse could be getting his mental health care right in his own congressional district instead of the taxpayers money being exported out of state to the Mayo clinic.

"Stress" and all the pretend "problems" and "ailments" that accompany it are BULLSHIT. "Stress" is just another excuse in a list of many to justify laziness and the lack of everyday coping skills. It's a crutch invented by the medical profession, much like its sister diagnosis "fatigue". Ranks right up there with ADHD and "chronic" this-or-that.

I remember reading an article about suicide in the Tribune a while back. Men use more lethal means when they attempt suicide, and die more frequently as a result. Pills were not considered as lethal, and were used more by women.
As indicated by the 1st poster, it's common knowledge that JJJr had bariatric surgery (Shrinking of the stomach to address obesity) which is known to have possible side effects down the road.
In his case it 'could' be a "U.S.Attorney Ulcer."

for him, especially among female voters.
2) If his fellow political constituents, let alone the
FBI, had any substantive evidence directly connecting
JJ Jr. to the 'senate seat for sale' brouhaha, they'd have indicted his ass by now. He might face a mild rebuke
by his fellow congressmen, but it's very doubtful if
much else comes out of their investigation.
3) Depression is a serious health issue. He's getting treated for it. I'm sure we have many members of the Dept. who are suffering greatly from depression as well, but most of them will eat their guns before
