5 Killed in 12 Hours

Stuff like this has to have McCompStat pulling his hair out. We can't react to any of this:
  • On Thursday, Haynes was shot dead in the street while trying to stop two guys from the neighborhood from a fight over a stolen necklace near 116th and Vincennes, less than a block from his home. The 22-year-old was one of five men who were shot and killed over 12 hours in Chicago. So far this year, there have been 302 murders, a 30 percent increase from 2011. In the spring, the number of murders was 66 percent higher than the previous year.

There's that "decrease in the increase" again, none of which helps Rahm. And on a Thursday?

Who has the number of shooting victims. That would be a telling statistic. So would the clearance rate.

Haynes :future basketball star was gunned down while breaking up a fight over the golden necklace. Is this coincidence that another Hayes was found with lots of bullet holes not too far? How about his brother being questioned by police reg. home invasion and shooting? If those three are related, the family is full of A+ superstars.

I've heard the number of shooting victims since the first of the year at somewhere around 1,200 and that was several weeks ago.

Can you imagine the ER cost and hospital workload alone not to mention the investigation and court time/costs.. man..

Yeah most of us probably can I guess but nary a word of it in the media on how this effects all of our health care cost when these people that can't pay for their treatment.

The Conference on the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (U.N. ATT) has broken down and will not report a draft treaty to the member nations.

This is a big victory for American gun owners, and the NRA is being widely credited for killing the U.N. ATT.

On a July 2011 vs July 2012 basis were making a strong final stretch run at last years number of 55 homicides.

What are we about 14 dead bodies away with four days to go and who knows how many are still on life support from prior weeks.

Chicago, the Sanctuary Hellhole City of Death Mayor Rahm Emanual presiding.

Hey for the city if chicago that's a pretty good number. But wait a minute crime is down. Murders does not equal to homicides, shootings do not equal to people shot according to your highest majesty sir McDoofus and as far as tiny dancer he should maybe grow the rest of his finger because he sure does have short term memory. Maybe his finger will grow faster than all the promises that he made before getting elected.

The dead appear to represent 22-23% of the number of persons shot. That's a very rough number considering that some of the dead were stabbed, etc. I wonder what the percentage of dead vs persons shot looked like in the 90's. Anybody know?

What a wimpy Ballerina.
She cannot face up to the real crime issues so Rahm
pick a fight with a fried chicken restaurant.

Should we put Farrakhan in charge of security?

Maybe we should give everyone in 007 and 011 free plane tickets to Afghanistan to keep them safe! Imagine what we'd save on ER costs!

Seriously, we should give everyone in the ghetto free plane tickets to the country of their choice (who will allow them in) as long as they agree to stay for a period of at least 5 years.

There's the solution to the rising murder rate!!!

Although then the murder rate in Afghanistan would skyrocket--a win-win!

I blame the medical staff at the local hospitals. The numbers would be much greater if they weren't doing such a good job.

Rahm should consider shuffeling some of the hospital staff to other venues, such as teachers or police. He's done it to others who were doing a good job.

Clearance rate is probably the worst it's ever been. There is not even time to document the scene before you're on to the next one. Overtime is at an all time high in Area North, and no one has time to do anything. You're on the road from 011 to 015 to 016 to 024 and everywhere else. Even the young detectives can't keep up with this pace. The workload is beyond everyone's expectations. No one at 35th Street will admit that they failed in their design and correct this travesty.

Even if there is an increase in the decrease of the increase of the decrease in murders for July, Chicken Little and McTipsy will end up crediting Cease Fire and Louis Farrakhan for the "improvement" anyway. They need something to show that the money that was given away to them to buy votes in Nov lead to these "great result."

Lol, in the spring we had 124 murders versus 75 murders for the 66% increase, which is 49 more bodies. Now we have 302 versus 231 for a 31% increase, but up 71 bodies! That is the great story of McNumbers' crime fighting strategies. "I'm going to change the way we do Policing in this Country"

Through July 27

202 shooting incidents
36 homicides (though I hear it is 40)

Last July it was 216 shooting incidents an 56 homicides.

Through the year it looks like 1,048 shooting incidents and 280 homicides.

Haynes' that were victims of seperate homicides the other day are not related nor are they true victims. Young Michael the basketball star has a criminal history and was a known GD. His brother Brian is also a POS and no doubt was involved in whatever took place that night. I haven't seen either of them in a few years but find it hard to believe that other than being a good basketball player was doing nothing to "turn his life around". The other Hanes was a S.V.L from south deering. Again there are not many "true" victims out there. You reap what you sow , for the most part.

At Least 12 Wounded In Shootings This Weekend
July 29, 2012 10:14 AM

OT: NYPD

"Suspended?"

What?

NEW YORK – A 17-year veteran of the New York Police Department has been suspended without pay after a kidnapping victim was found tied up in his garage.

The New York Post reports Ondre Johnson, a detective with the Brooklyn north gang unit, was being questioned in connection with the incident and was forced to surrender his gun and badge.

Ok, that's officially odd. But it gets better.

Four men have been charged in the apparent kidnapping scheme, MyFoxNY.com reports. 30-year-old Hakeem Clark, who lives in the same building as Johnson, was charged with kidnapping and weapons possession along with 27-year-old Jason Hutson and 27-year-old James Gayle. 24-year-old Alfredo Haughton was charged with kidnapping.

Let me see if I get this right. The cop lives in the same house (and yes, folks, it's a house) as one of the people charged, and the kidnapping victim was found in his garage.

So exactly what is the relationship between the charged individual who lives in the same house and the detective? Exactly how does a cop with a gang unit wind up with a kidnapping happening in his own garage and one of the alleged perpetrators living in the same house?

Through the year it looks like 1,048 shooting incidents and 280 homicides

--------------------------------

So out of the 280 homicides there must be at least 250 that are the result of GSW (shooting incidents) right?

Therefore is it fair to say that we had at least 1,298 shooting incidents with 250 of them resulting in a homicide based upon that assumption?

Amazing how the city can make the shooting numbers appear lower if you pull out the shootings that result in death an assign them to a separate category no?

I GOT IT!

What we need to do is come up with some new names or definitions of what a homicide is.

For example if a homicide is defined as a death from a result of anything other than a GSW than we had only 30 homicides all year!!

That's the deaths by stabbings and beatings and people run over by cars and such. Woo-hoo crime is down. Look at that drop in homicides baby.

Now all we need is a new name for the people being shot and killed, GSW -- and heaven forbid that we actually use "shot and killed" or "gun homicides" or "murders", "massacres" or slain.

See... we need to be careful of the images people "conjure up" when we choose these words (am I right Gerry, Larry, Gary, Barry or whatever his name is?).

That said, the only thing that I can come up with so far would be UHIB.

Unexplained Holes in the Body == UHIB.

See how politically correct UHIB's would be? We're not talking about guns, not conjuring up images of violence or even assigning blame.

A UHIB is like an unavoidable act of nature like a hurricane, tornado, or earthquake right? No-one can be held accountable for an act of nature!

These people are found with unexplained holes in them and that's that.

Oh and if 9-1-1 response times get an longer we can have another category -- Death by rigamortis

Yep I heard the man say it. They found the guy lying in the apartment and the man said rigamortis set in and killed him.

Silly I know.
