Show Rahm the Money

Still not getting the bills paid:
  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration has made its second reimbursement request for expenses incurred during the NATO summit here in May, including a claim for more than $300,000 for costs to the CTA and more than $900,000 for police agencies.

The total amount billed to the Chicago NATO Host Committee on Friday is more than $3.2 million, which comes on the heels of a request for more than $15 million last month. Sarah Hamilton, a spokeswoman for Emanuel, said the city would continue to submit itemized bills to recoup its costs.

It's kind of like being a contractor for the city and waiting 6 months, 9 months, a year to get paid. Nice to see the shoe on the other foot for a minute.

...and the media and Noodles STILL insist that it's not costing the taxpayer anything because money is coming out of "Federal Funds"

Yeah and Rahm was touting on how his job strategy is working so well too.

Why he created 28,000 jobs over the last year he wants us to believe.

Well if things are working so well on the job front in Chiraq then the teachers and police union contracts and raises should be no problemo at all.

Give 'em their raises Rahm. Look at all those jobs created heh-

But let me ask you one question.

If an unemployed person living in the Sanctuary city should happen to find a job how do we know that Rahm's actions created it?

Maybe the person got a job in the suburbs, or Dupage or McHenry county even. Could of got work in Wis. of Indiana and now commutes until they are able to sell their home in a oh so crappy Chiraq housing market.

Maybe they are working remote on a computer for some overseas company. Those things would have nothing whatsoever to do with Rahm's job strategy.

Nevertheless on a side note we would also like to point out that like the crime stats timing is everything.

Rahm choose a May '11 to May '12 time frame to report his great success.

What happened in June? Illinois unemployment rate kicked back up.

What's happening in July?

State issues layoff notices to hundreds of DCFS workers

Chicago Tribune‎ - 7 hours ago
Pat Quinn 's office has issued layoff notices to nearly 600 workers in the state's troubled child welfare agency, despite vows to restore funding in ...

Statewide health care worker layoffs on deck along with correction officers as prison get shut down. We still have the upcoming US post office layoffs coming up and an Airline merger that always results in cuts. Groupon will likely go bust before the year is up and there's more..

But even if we give his majesty the benefit of the doubt and say that okay fine some jobs were created I then have to ask what kind of jobs? Part-time temporary min-wage jobs? The reason being that the number of people collecting Food Stamps in this so-called great state have not gone down over the last year, they've gone up. So what are these people being paid?

Hunker down..Has everyone google "Spain Austerity" lately?

We're right behind them

There's nothing in the unemployment stats that tells you the people in Chiraq got a job in Chiraq. All the bls knows is that you're no longer on unemployment

Meanwhile, more people have been stabbed to death in Chicago so far this year than in all of 2011, RedEye found.

A 49-year-old man was fatally stabbed Monday in the 500 block of West 72nd Street in Englewood, police said.

Twenty-eight stabbing deaths have been logged this year compared to 27 of these deaths last year, RedEye determined. Stabbings have accounted for about 10 percent of homicides so far this year, compared to about 6 percent last year, RedEye data shows.

Twenty-seven homicides have been logged so far in July. Fifty-five homicides were recorded in July 2011, according to RedEye data.

Yes stabbings are up but where they inside or outside stabbings? If they were multiple stabbings do they count as one?

Regarding 7/21/2012 12:32:00 AM's comment:

It has recently occurred to me--what exactly do those of us with jobs that pay taxes to this state GET for our STATE tax dollars??

Governor, Elected representatives, Judicial system, state police (to an extent as we live in the city, but they do check our breathalyzer and test our dope), jails to keep the bad guys locked up, and state parks (at least at the moment)

What else?

Tollways are covered by tolls, license plates and gasoline/diesel taxes should cover other road expenses.

The state base sales tax rate is 5%, (6.25 if you include the city and county tax already built in),
The individual income tax rate is also 5%.

So, what else exactly does the taxpayer get for his money? Can you think of anything???

011 was in a rap but Rahm needs 4 squad cars to protect him at jackson and hamlin. The four squad cars on top of his security detail. If chicago is so safe why do you need so many police officers protecting you? What about the backlog? He doesnt care as long as he has protection
