And Another Police Shooting (And Another!)

Crime is down? Bullshit:
  • Chicago police wounded a robbery suspect Sunday night in the North Austin neighborhood on the city's West Side, authorities said.

No officers were reported injured in the shooting that occurred just before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Lotus and Bloomingdale avenues, according to both Chicago police and the Independent Police Review Authority.

The wounded person's condition wasn't known.

Two words - who cares? Anything above "still breathing" then he should thank his lucky stars.

In any event, no police were hurt, which is good. So we're up to four police involved shootings in under 2 weeks? Or is it five?

Well done to the involved Officers.

UPDATE: A second one in less than three hours:
  • Just after midnight, officers from the Area South Gun Team spotted two men walking in the 7900 block of South Shore Drive, one appearing to have a handgun protruding from his waistband, Chicago police said in a formal statement.

The officers with the "gun team," which focuses primarily on taking illegal guns off the streets, were in the area because of a previous shots fired call, police said.

As the men approached, one of the officers announced his office, prompting one of the men to pull out his handgun and point it at the officers, police said. One of the cops opened fire, striking the gun-wielding suspect, police said.

Auntie says police just opened fire without announcing their office and her nephew was as pure as the driven snow - this despite two previous weapons convictions. Auntie insists he was innocent this time. Anyone want to bet his juvenile record shows a few more?

Again, well done Officers.

Won't be long now when all the concerned extortionist Reverends will be protesting outside the 5th floor of City Hall protesting how trigger happy cops are killing the poor youth in the Ghetto. Police will need more training and also more cash to the churches to educate their yoot.

Last week in roll call we were told that there were 12 police involved shootings in ten prior nights. Between 003, 006, 022 I think there were six police shootings last week alone. Police shootings have to be up 300% from the same time last year. Anyone know a way to look this up to confirm?

That Area South gun team has been involved in quite a few of the recent police involved shootings.

Good work but too bad they aren't completely eliminating the threat.

Now it comes out that the juvenile that pointed the gun at area south gun team officers didnt have to go to school in the morning because of the strike. The kid figured he could stay up into the wee hours of the morning. this is just the tip of the iceberg, it is gonna be worse.

Guy was hiding in the bushes in front of the house on south shore while others were being stopped on the sidewalk. Of course bunch of coppers were there for the outdoor roll call. Please watch your surroundings. 410R was too quick to give a total disregard. He had no clue. Good thing we had a real sarge who was able to keep things in order.

This has GOT to stop! Have you seen how expensive ammo has gotten. Maybe it's a good bargaining chip for a bigger raise.

It happens every time Nobama runs , ammo gets scarce, prices go up and there is a rush to buy more guns.

Gun and ammo manufacturing is about the only area of the economy he's good at stimulating.

The last one they had to shoot was put a stop on as a "possible curfew violator" -- and out comes the gun.

Not old enough to be out late, but old enough to kill you.

BE CAREFUL.

Sullivan Act: Was created to protect criminals who were tired of being shot at when they tried to rob merchants coming into the city/docks to transport their goods. Criminals bought a crooked politician (Sullivan) and had him draft the law that stripped law abiding citizens of their firearms so that they were defenseless against the hijackers. Fact. Research it. Hmm so many many many alderman come to mind.
