One person was stabbed after a fight broke out at Gately Stadium Friday, halting the Simeon-Morgan Park football game, and eye witnesses and a police source said shots were possibly fired.
Loud noises and flashes of light could be seen coming from the Morgan Park stands, according to a Sun-Times reporter who was at the game at 800 E. 103rd. A police source told the Sun-Times a large fight broke out at the game and said officers responded to reports of shots fired.
But the Chicago Police Office of News Affairs said police officials do not believe gunshots were fired.
So a reporter sees flashes and hears noises, but since nothing was found, nothing actually happened. Maybe the Department is hoping the reporter doesn't know what a revolver looks like? And at least one thing did happen:
- A spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department said a male was stabbed and taken to Roseland Community Hospital about 8:43 p.m. The age and condition of the male was not immediately known.

It's just a matter of time before some players pull guns and start shooting at each other on the field. Why not? They don't have to run around and get all sweaty and shit. Just cap the mo' 'fo on the field.
Can't wait for the school zone speed trap camera's to nail these school buses as they zoom down the streets trying to avoid all the gunfire.
I'd suggest that everyone fasten their seat belts but as far as I know the Governor decided that requiring school bus companies to install seat belts was just too expensive and an unnecessary waste.. so there are none to fasten. So much for "the children"

I'm not from Illinois. Where I went to school we had two high schools: the regular public one, and the 'alternative' one that the fuck-ups got sent to. I think this is a good plan. Let me get this straight: In Illinois, if you are a good student and want a quality education you have to pay for it yourself and find it? Is that not backwards? Shouldnt the public school be the quality education and anyone who fucks with that program get the boot?

I have said for years now whenever fights break out at H.S. games. The 1st time a fight breaks out during a game the 2 teams involved should have to play 1 seasons worth of games without the fans in attendance.
The fans get susspended for 1 yr.

As a CPS teacher, I say "Wow, what a well thought out and written statement". You pretty much said it all. (must be that private school edjumacashion talking, LOL!). It's a sad day when you finally realize that WE are the enemies. All of US - cops, fireman, teachers are looked at with such disrespect and people wonder why some of us throw in the towel and just go thru the motions and collect a paycheck. I was there, the first said shots fired and they said they had a large group of people fighting. they put it on the air the shots fired. I'm assuming thet put it out for a reason, then when everything was getting out of control they called for a 10-1.. I got there and it took hours to clear the streets, and right in front of police they started fighting.. asking these animals to move and clear the street was like talking to a wall.. if police officers from 004, 003 and 006 didn't show up, many people would be killed... fucking animals, and yes it was shots fired.. if it looks like a chicken, walks like a chicker, smells like chike and tastes like a chicke, its a fucking chicken... loud noises and flashes.. its shots fired..WTF..

we have a reporter ( that one would guess is a trained observer)

Chicago Tramau Documentary produced by National Geographic aired this week. It detailed the day in the life of Tramau surgeons and theirteams as they deal with the steady influx of gunshot victims through their tours of duty.
They show did had some interesting tag lines, such as "Chicagos homicide rate is up 60% over last year."
"More people have been killed in Chicago than in Afghanistan," And shootings were up by. Xx % (sorry don't remember the # they quoted ."

Don't understand why the D's have to call Felony Review (or as many call it: Felony Rejection) for a cast that is, by statute, a felony. A convicted felon in possession of a firearm? Slam dunk.
