I heard he did call someone. His clout. To cover up his numerous drunken escapades. Hmm from bridgeport wonder who his clout was.
Dumb mistakes will change you life forever!
Lose da booze!
Da Pelon
Frugoli had 18 years on back in April 2009. Seems like his attorney dragged it out enough for him to get to twenty years on.
If I'm wrong correct me, but since it wasn't duty related he should be able to start drawing a pension at age fifty.
For those of you readers, cop or not, inclined to drink and drive I suggest either drinking close to home and walking, sleeping it off in the back of a pickup, or cabbing it.
Better yet just join Mitt Romney and eschew alcohol, caffeine, and all intoxicants. Screw it, I'm drinking a coke and rum right now and grabbing a cig.
I remember the day this happened.
People were all over this blog talkin shit about how this Detective was so heavy and that nothing was going to happen to him and he'd probably get promoted.
WOW!
That is why I take a cab when I go drinking.
I didn't get in trouble every time I drank, but every time I got into trouble I had been drinking.

Stealing cabs when you are drunk is just plain stupid. Take them when you are sober. There is much less chance of getting caught.(I hate cabbies. Can you tell?)
if you kill when drunk driving youre no better than the criminals that recklessly kill...
You don't expect a kid to be on a bike at 1 am and and you don't expect a car to be parked on the ramp of the expressway, but you are responsible. Don't let this happen to you. Good people make mistakes that are not 100% their fault, but they will get 100% of the punishment. A lesson for everyone.
You lose your pension if convicted of a felony. He resigned from CPD before the conviction so he probably took it in one lump sum.
Agg DUI. Not DUI. The victims were stalled in fast lane.
It's sad that he had soooo many chances to "turn his life around". But, he's still alive to see the error of his ways.
Nobody wins in these cases. God help us all.
not a lot of drinkers on the job now like there were years ago--- some of these hair gels open a bottle and put a nipple on it and are laughing like little schoolgirls after the first one is drained--- back in the day the bosses drank right next to the coppers and you had the watch party every three months where everyone had a little something to drink--- ahhh the good old days....
It's sad anytime to see one of our own with an out of control drinking problem and to see it blow up on them in the manner in which it occurred. I'm sure he'll get all the help he needs to deal with his addiction in prison.
Even worse, that two innocent young men had to die because someone was apparently out of control and in denial about their drinking.

Fuck You, you self righteous piece of shit.
I have twenty years on. Let me know how I can draw a pension, I'd like to know.
Can't wait until the shit hits YOUR fan.
Cocksucker.

Me too.
But that's also why I've been arrested 3 times for PSMV and 18 times for CTTV.
Not stickin up for him but alot of you guys and gals know we have gone out together drinking and drove thinkin we OK or we the Police. Did it myself a hundred times. Now retired. That You Lord. You young guys-be careful and dont do that crazy shit. Not preaching but I was LUCKY. Dont fuck up your life, career, your family OR KILL SOMEONE over a good time and a few beers. Have a tear or two in my eye. THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Call someone boys and girls. At least you still have a job and access to help you need..."
Here is the big secret of recovery --
"You don't have to do that anymore if you don't want to."
"That is why I take a cab when I go drinking."

Yeah, I know, the driver's standing there in the middle of the street yelling and pointing...
...veh. found later in Country Club Hills "both doors are open, the engine is still running..."
Can I come next time?
Whoo!
No pension and no clout. Went right into no pay status and has been there since this happened. Resigns recently with 18 years of service, 2 years short of pension.
But for the Grace of God that could be any one of us or our family.
I got sick of hearing this detective brag about the judges and politians he knows. Total blowhard!!!!
Good luck Joe! I'm praying for you.
0730 you dont lose your pension if convicted of a felony. Prior to going on pension as in this case, you get back all the money you paid into the pension fund plus like 2 or 3% a year. Doesnt matter in most cases because the lawyer gets your pension. That is one reason the po resigns first so he has the money to pay the lawyer
I don't dislike the man, but he was running away from the scene. No doubt! He had gotten away with all his cocky bullshit for years and now he does this and runs away...
You only lose your pension if you commit a felony while on duty. I think he will get something. I am not going to throw a rock, cause I do live in a glass house. I am older more then 20 on the job. I have drank and done stupid things, but thank God nothing like this happened to me. I have woke up the following morning with a hangover, thinking how stupid. And it always happened drinking with other coppers. Guys we got to really look out for each other. Grab the keys, call a cab whatever.....it just takes one time. Stay Safe
Soon we will be back to horses so my question is can you Ride?
In regards to the pension he gets what he paid in, that's it. If you are convicted of a felony you loose your pension benefit. No winners in this sad tragedy and for you assholes to gloat at this detectives misery is shameful. No excuses for what happen but with two people dead and another life ruined in prison I don't think I need to throw salt in the wound. For those fellow police officers who hide behind this computer making snide judgements shows what's really wrong with this department. What he did was wrong and as he faces going to prison I think no one realizes it more.
I am still waiting for people to say that we do not know the whole story and that he was railroaded. And throw in the race card. And, yea the prosecutors were out to get him. Also, the judge was biased. And to top it off, he did nothing wrong.

Wow you and the bosses drank like fishes every night. So that makes you a man and me not because I don't drink myself into a fucking stupor. Ahh the good old days... You fucking retard!!!!

Yea, we are assholes because we are responsible for what he did. We are to blame for his misfortune. And I am sure that you are a "detective," also. (Please do not have any kids.)

If we are assholes. Then the detective is an asshole x 1,000,000; he killed two people. And you are right up there with him. So, take your unwashed sorry hillbilly ass to get your six pack of beer--I know, you are above the 40 ouncer.
Too bad his parents were not well-known art dealers in the north suburbs. . . . .
different rules for us and for them.
don't play the game when the rules are stacked against you.
Remember that the two "innocent" kids who died were were well-known graffiti taggers and were allegedly in the process of tagging the overpass, which is why their car was stopped.
RIPs for those two upstanding citizens were posted all over the graffiti and taggers blogs when this happened. those bloggers even posted the detective's home address on their site if i recall.
Not that it makes it better to run over them while drunk off your butt.
i wonder what the headline would have been if the dick had been 100 percent sober?
but for the Grace of the Man Upstairs . . .
"I'm sure he'll get all the help he needs to deal with his addiction in prison."

You will get all the help you need to deal with precisely s__t in prison.
Oh, there might be the odd program in there somewhere, but there are people in there on their fifth DUI. All they are getting is old. Some of them have like a reconstructed face, one glass eye, steel rod in hip, etc.
"Ain't a bridge abutment between here and Cairo, Illinois what don't bear m'mark."
"Sick and tired of being sick and tired?" Call AA, always in the phone book.
"You don't have to do that anymore if you don't want to."
To 7:47 am read it again slowly, I don't think he's or she is making excuses

Yea, I read it. You need to learn to read. It says that the people who are commenting with a certain opinion are assholes. And it says that the people who are commenting are the problem with this department--never mind the detective who killed two people. Sure, officers who kill people are not the problem.
mr detective your nothing more than STUPID!!!! we all know the consequences of dui, how the fuck are you gona cover up a crash with fatalities detective STUPID? thanks for the bad wrap.......DICK!!!!!!!!
Furgoli is a basic tool! I always remember the guy talking a lot of shit about his Bridgeport connections and his judge buddies. He is nothing short of a phony. Not wishing this on him, but he has had chances before and pissed them away.
There is a difference between having a few cocktails and repeatedly being bombed out of your mind. The detective was very cocky
Who did he write memos on???
hey maybe he can make commercials now..........stay thirsty my friends.......lol
