Now We're Alarm Clocks?
- There was no sleeping in the South Shore neighborhood this morning, as sirens woke up residents.
At 85th Street and Exchange Avenue, the Saturday morning quiet was shattered by sounds of sirens.
Police were summoning residents to a street meeting.
We usually throw a boot at the cat when he starts wailing in the early AM hours, "Tom & Jerry" style.
We're surprised the aldercreature and police commander weren't walking the block with metal garbage cans and a 2x4 to make sure everyone got the message.
This is an "appropriate" use of police manpower?

No worries good citizens, just us police supervisors trying to justify our existence and make it look like we're doing something.
hahaha..
Hey..
"THREEEE O'CLOCK AND ALL IS WELLLL!"
The gun fire we've grown deaf to but those damn sirens, heh yeah. The mayor has got to do something about those damn sirens..
Alderman John Pope (10) was at the big CAPS on the sidewalk, all the plastic chairs set out.
The guy was wearing some kind of custom official-looking windbreaker -- and under it a black NYPD turtleneck, except with
ALD
on the neck!
can you dig it
ALD
I was thinking the same thing. Whose genius idea was this?
todays Commanders are not the Police Life, Limb, Property they are "managers" not leaders-go figure District 010 Ogden Ave has one!
"There was no sleeping in the South Shore neighborhood this morning, as sirens woke up residents."
Wow. That must've totally fucked up the neighborhood's collective sleep schedule.
Betcha everyone went back all up in da bed right after the poleese left out and they didn't get up til 1500 hours as opposed to the usual 1400 hours.
In some neighborhoods does it matter that it is Saturday? Everyday is Saturday in some.p
"Want everybody to know we are out here and we want them to know what is going on in the community,” said Fourth District Police Commander Berscott Ruiz".
Berscott was just following orders
from the Alder"thankyou for my job as DC"creature.
Pre Election Day drill... it's just a drill to alert the Neighbor Watch after the City counts & re-counts the ballots on Nov 6th.
Romney is coming! Romney is coming!
Summon the National Guard.
This is the type of behavior that savages require. They NEED to be led and told what to do because they can't do things on their own. That's why if left to themselves, they'll vote away their rights and freedom and put a strong man in power. Liberty means nothing to those who choose to enslave themselves.
Whose fucking idea was that? Let sleeping dogs lie.
WTF?
Why, for God's aske, do we want to wake these fuckers up? Let em fuckin sleep from 5am to 11am.
Only peaceful time in the hood.
They had me do this in 011.
Desperate measures for Rahm and MacDaddy! 21st Century policing is really getting embarassing! The lack of evolution in Englewood and other "thughoods" will continue to slow progress over coming decades!
Are you F'n kidding me? Really!
Right now participation in these “community meetings” are voluntary. If BO and Tiny Dancer have their way they will be mandatory, comrade. Roll will be taken and anyone not their will be ANOV'd.
FORWARD!
can the CPD get any sillier?.....well, wait for more orders from the Bureau of Silliness, Irrelevance, and Incompetence...
"Bring out your dead, bring out your dead"
Pope is a good guy who doesn't fux with d'police but WOW - what a DUMB idea!

Keep up those b.s. chases out of 010. Eventually someone will get really injured and you will be jobless/homeless. Know when to let them go. NO weapon recovered. NO crime scene. NO witnesses. NO victim. NO reason to jeopardize yourself or others for the end result. NOTHING. Stop chasing every jagoff who runs from the Police hoping you might find something at the end. Just two PO's injured in a crash on the I290. Was it worth it? Huh?
"Police were summoning residents to a street meeting"
The city can now summon us to meetings? When the hell did that happen? Do they take attendance?

Your are SO frigging naive ...
" BRING OUT YOUR DEAD! BRING OUT YOU DEAD!"--From "Monty Python and The Holy Grail"
WestSide says--
"There was no sleeping in the South Shore neighborhood this morning, as sirens woke up residents."

Remember when old Fire Comm. Quinn hit the air raid sirens for the baseball win and the city thought it was going to die?
...and you have to hand it to him, he came off the engine. I was reading last night about the most dangerous pompier-ladder rescue eight stories up, as a firefighter he helped get four guys off a roof in the middle of a huge fire at the Stockyards -- the whole South Side almost went up.
As someone here just said, today you have "managers," not leaders.
Just thinking...
The once proud Chicago Police Department has turned into a keystone cop carnival. What a shame. Glad I am gone.
Just for the record...85th and Exchange is in the South Chicago neighborhood, not South Shore.
The guy was wearing some kind of custom official-looking windbreaker -- and under it a black NYPD turtleneck, except with

ALD...another loser democrat?
Just practicing for election day, "BRING OUT YOUR DEAD VOTERS, BRING OUT YOUR DEAD VOTERS"!!!
We are not alarm clocks. We are just siren ringers. There is a big difference!
"...bring out your dead..."
I'm not dead yet!
THUNK! Now you are!
Classic.
I sooooooo tired!
In my ward, Alderman Tunney has one of those turtlenecks.
However, his doesn't say ALD. It says BFA.
I wonder what it stands for?
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
Inappropriate is a weak word for this. This has nasty police state overtones. Ugly. Really ugly.
I'm waiting for an over-creative lawyer to find a way to sue over this.
Here's a bit of police ancient history.
Have you ever heard the term, "knocking up" or "knocked up"? Not the ghetto term.
In the days before alarm clocks, the original London Constables of Sir Robert 'Bobby' (hence their nickname "Bobby") Peel made a few extra farthings by knocking on peoples doors to wake them up for work. The term is still used to check to see if someone got up on time.
