301

  • If you ignored the winter overnight parking restrictions on some Chicago streets last night, you may be one of the 301 owners whose vehicles were towed for violating the ban.

At least 301 vehicles were towed on the first night of the parking restrictions. The ban hours, from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., started early today and were enforced along 107 miles of the major streets.

Last year, 188 vehicles were towed on the first day of the ban, officials said.
Just based on the 50% increase in cars hooked, we're going to go out on a limb and say that the City isn't short tow truck operators.

Rahm has until December 31 to lease Midway airport

Here's where the money is supposed to go:
Public Act 094-0750
Section 20. Use of lease proceeds by lessor.
(a) With respect to any leased facility property used for
airport purposes, at least 90% of the net proceeds of the lease
shall be expended or obligated by the lessor municipality for:
(i) the construction and maintenance of infrastructure
within the municipality;
(ii) contributions to pension funds created for
municipal employees; or
(iii) any combination of (i) or (ii).
(b) The amount of net proceeds expended or obligated for
item (ii) in subsection (a) may not exceed the amount of net
proceeds expended or obligated for item (i) in subsection (a).
As used in this Section, "net proceeds" means the gross
proceeds less any debt service payments on, and payments to
retire, debt that is specifically associated with the leased
facility property or otherwise required to be paid out of lease
proceeds.

rahmbo probably creamed in his pants when he heard about this--- plenty of money to put in his little honey pot--- anyone noticing the speed limit signs going up by select schools with the camera attached, looks like the speed cameras are coming soon--- swiping to begin in january or february for the cpd--- equipment and supply is distributing plastic buckets and boxes of kleenex to all units so when the crying starts none of the police stations get flooded---- everyone now has to work 9 hours, you will swipe id and hand scan in and out every tour of duty....

What a bunch of BS. Every year there is a big deal made about DEC 1 tows, then when it really snows nobody gets towed. I drove Ashland from the Ike to 4000 N for 25 years and the snow covered cars were lined up next to the curb untouched. Don't get me started on the stupid flower boxs in the middle of the street either.

Can you imagine what great shape we would be in if the city, county, state and US governments were forensically audited for waste, abuse, corruption and fraud ? That would be too easy though. Midway money will never be seen for pensions.

Did you know that the retirees are not represented by the FOP? Not per contract at any rate. Only active are covered by the contract and two groups of retirees, 55 and out and 60 and over. Retirees are represented by the pension board. FOP keeps retirees informed and does certain things but it is a courtesy.

55 and out and 60 and out are covered by contract with free health insurance till Medicare eligible. It is in the contract. Others are not.

Those who retired before 60 or the 55 and out thing or at age 50 to 54 are on their own. They are covered by Korshak.

The FOP is not paying for lawyers to handle the retirees health care under Korshak. That is being handled by Clinton Krislov of Krislov Law. He gets paid when they win . They do class action work and the potential payout for them can be substantial. They took on the retirees case on spec, for free, their pay is if/when they win and they won under Korshak. Now on to the next round.

Rahm gave away the NATO!

If u noticed he gave a school in Munoz's ward(yep his daddy is a federal felon) cash.

Rahm will hand the cash to Alderman who don't agree with him on issues as subtle bribes.

Currently they're six Alderman who are hassling the mayor they will all be bought out!

or it could have been used to by squad cars or books for kids to read in the closed library's

04:30 Who pays them if they win? I'm a retiree and I never hired them so why would I have to pay them. I think you have no idea of what you are talking about
I know no retirees received a bill after the last agreement in 2003 that lasted 10 years

better yet , that money could hasve been used to fix , service and or update the crappy equipment that just gathers dust in the squad cars (pdt), but if you listened closely that 1 million dollars will give ( minimum wage) job opportunities to at least 1000 kids. Geez, 1000 kids? from 1 million dollars? I'm no math whiz but if you have 1 million dollars and all you're hiring is 1000 at minimum wage...... where does the rest of the money go, or better yet in whose pocket?

HEY RAHM ,, ITS ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN?????????????? YA RIGHT!!!

12/02/2012 12:14:00 AM
noooo, there's probably demands in the works to rid of duty availability from our contract and uniform allowance. remember rhambo wants concessions and we're on the table now.. mark my words we're going to lose alot in this new contract whenever they get around to it and don't look for an arbitrator to favor us in any way, we had already lost the 1st arbitration when the city forcasted an emergency a year ahead of time for nato by not allowing us furlough bids back during the 5b period, and dont forget the last ( now expired contract) arbitrator ruled in favor for the city when the contract was extended to 5 years instead of keeping it at 4 !! we should seriously consider ridding ourselves of the fop and going with Teamsters or PBA

Retiree health care issue is being handled by a firm that deals in consumer protection and class actions. Check out their website. www.krislovlaw.com. lets hope that the retired workers of the city of Chicago are not buried by the current mayor when the health care agreement expires in June 2013.
