Rumor Central

Rumor has it that the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Chicago suffered a burglary to her home yesterday.  Can anyone confirm?

That would be kind of poetic in nature - the head bean-counter providing Rahm with the reasoning to gut the department ends up a victim of the dwindling numbers that cannot hold the street any more.

I'm certainly not advocating for crime, but as a citizen this gives me the warm feeling that the politicians are liable to fall prey to their own failed policies. A real "home based" lesson on the law of unintended consequences. Perhaps the people should form a posse, who amongst other things, head up a burglary ring only targeting elected officials. God bless all you first responders, please stay safe and thank you for all you do.

CFO; Hey somebody broke into my home and stole all my stuff.

McGoofy; We'll get right on it.

Rahmmie; No we wont. It never happened.

McGoofy; Yeah it never happened.

CFO; Well what the hell happened to all my stuff?

Rahmmie; Your wealth has been redistributed to the poor unwashed masses.

McGoofy; Yeah the masses.

Rahmmie; Now shut up and be glad you've got a job.

McGoofy; Yeah a job.

I bet she gets a car assigned to sit on her house for a couple of weeks. Besides organized burglary rings are usually difficult to stop. Maybe if we had more detectives?

Yeah - she gets a car, but any average citizen would get nothing.

Anyone who moves into Chicago at this point is nuts - unless, of course, they are connected to the clout. Then, they are guaranteed a much higher level of city services.

He told them no more detective work,no more following burglary suspects no more tracking property at pawn shops no more trackers on offenders vehicles, no more leads-on line. Just go out and write an anov for the junk truck in the alley and write the pisser and drinker in the alley that will stop burglaries. Lois Scott is her name, and yes, she has done much of the hatchet work on cutting. Especially police. Until now.

She now has an officer stationed on her block. Isn't that nice? Any news medial out there, call 014 and ask why Lois Scott has her own personal police officer just because her house was burglarized. I don't get that. Next she will get a driver and car, ala Ed Burke. Ed might even know of a judge who will sign such an order.

Maybe he can do a foot patrol in their house himself and by himself since we do not got the enough numbers to man all the beats and god forbid some get sick then we all gotta over stretch to keep shop running.

It is not entirely the tact Lt's fault. Most tact officers these days whine and cry about doing "detective" work. Something about D2 pay or along those lines. Also, there is this thing called the Supreme Court (you may have heard about it in your illustrious police career) that said you need a search warrant for a tracker now. Most guys haven't a clue on how to get a search warrant for that. (and there are fewer experienced officers that can teach them)

The real reason the 019 burglary team got gutted was primarily due to the fact that their former sergeant, a great and really competent guy was shipped out with some other sergeants when the districts combined. No leadership left there.
