Last Chance for Bears

Still a chance they might back into a playoff spot, and thereby gain the chance to fail on national television.

Latest odds have Bears by 3. If they manage to eke out a win against Detroit, then they have to hope the Packers don't play all their second stringers against the Vikings.

The Pack also needs a win. Pack wins and they get the #2 seed and a first-round bye.

The Vikes are going to be a real handful. The are playing solid. Ponder is decent and Adrian Petersen is phenominal. They are playing for a playoff spot at home against their biggest division rival. If the Pack loses they play the Vikes next weekend in Lambeau.

And the Bears make the playoffs if the Pack wins.

So lets hear all you Bear fans out there with a hearty yell:

GO PACK GO!!!!!

Packers should play their 1st string. A win gets them a first round bye.

Listening to sports talk radio today and I heard that playoff teams are thinking that the Bears might be the scary team in the playoffs this year... If the Bears get in, they will play either Seattle or SF, both of whom they played and lost to this season. They'll be better prepared for both a second time around and at that point will be trying for a winning streak of 3 in a row. This is the time of the year that other teams DO NOT want to see a team like the Bears start to gel and gain momentum.

I don't necessarily subscribe to this line of thought, but I find it interesting nonetheless.

I guess a true fan should be hoping for a win and a run in the playoffs, but I just don't see them getting past the first round here.

So now I wonder if the true Bears fan shouldn't be cheering instead for a loss today that would put them a couple of slots lower in the 2013 draft order. Sometimes that can make a BIG difference in who you're able to build your team around for the future.

The Lions suck just enough that the Bears should beat them.

Bears fans think that the rivalry with the Packers is a really big deal, but truth be told, Packers fans have developed a big dislike for the Vikings and feel THAT rivalry has become bigger than the Bears. This began developing after Brett Favre signed with Minnesota.

The Packers also can earn a first round bye with a win, so they DO have incentive here.

The Vikings could become a quality team down the road, but I don't see them beating the Pack today.

Bears will make the playoffs but will lose in Seattle next week in the 1st round of the playoffs.

I see Seattle vs. the NE Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Does anyone think the Bears have a realistic shot at the Super Bowl this year?

Enough said.

The Lions will put the final nail in the Bears coffin for this season. But don't get down....At least Chicago is #1 in Murders this year. Something to brag about I guess.

Why this annual obsession for an enduring mediocrity to stagger into the playoffs, only to be bitch-slapped into oblivion by a real team?

Nothing will ever change until Lovie is gone and the McCaskeys stop acting like the Wirtz's of old.
That said, LET'S GO LIONS!!!!! LET'S GO VIKINGS!!!!!

LETS GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!

The Bears are like the Cubs, play only good enough to fill the seats. Lovie sucks as a coach but the Bears won't fire him because they don't want to pay him off for any remaining contract. The Bears are a family business for the McCaskey clan and any extra expenses come out of their collective pockets.

I quit the Bears when the McCrappys threatened to move to Gary, Indiana and never looked back. Go Pack!

Certainly.

They just will have to go to a reputable ticket broker and lay their money down for a pair or two.

This also should get rid of Lovie, if they get in he will stay for another year. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH

I don't buy that either. This is the time of the season where the talent level shines thru.

But the 49'ers are banged up, too. A WR is down and out. If the Bears can bottle up the run and keep their QB in the pocket, who knows?

Unlikely, but remotely possible.

Hopefully this will be the long overdue nail in the coffin for the Lovie Smith era.
I must say though this team needs much more than just a new head coach.
