Another homicide in 007 tonight. 69th and damen, gsw to the chest. Hi
Redeye homicide tracker puts us at 497 as of a few hours ago. That's missing the one via Agg Batt with speaker from a couple weeks ago in 015, so by my count, we're at 498 if they're not missing any others.
They've been telling us at roll calls in 10 not to write parkers on the boulevards where they recently added those bike lanes. Apparently they messed up the markings and now they have to be redone. How much time and money is being spent on this nonsense? Who the fuck wants to ride a bike on Independence Boulevard anyway???

Wrong again. "Executive Officer" is strictly a job title. If someone is a captain and is an XO, he / she is making captain's pay. If they are a commander, they make commander's pay. Exempts don't get overtime or other benefit pay; captains do. Yeah, it's still a lot of money but compared to the corporate world, it's nothing. That's why it's called "public service."

I really believe they do it on purpose to steal more $$. They did when Daley was around.
Where I live there's a park across the street. A perfectly good 4ft high fence was was put up around it; right after completion it was torn down and another put up 1.5 ft high.
Then after that, it was totally landscaped with bushes and stuff and a week later all of that was ripped out and it was re-landscaped.
The street corners were re-done perfectly good, with ramp access and then re-done a second time with crappy high maintance plastic squares an in some cases jackhammered a third time.
This city is still in need of a forensic audit.

Amazing the abject failure by the CPD Einstein Bosses in reducing the violence in Chickilgo. All the meetings, all the brain-Farts, all the plans, all failures. Some parents went to great lengths to keep up the spy on the kids mission of the Elf. They would move and repose it every day, leave it food, even pose if on the toilet crapping Hersey's Kisses.
Some kids were creeped out by having this spy in their room and ask mom or dad take it away. They didn't want a spy in their bedroom or anywhere else in the house reporting to Santa Clause.
If this isn't the real start of a George Orwell/Rahm Emanuel 1984 World of cameras everywhere watching our every move and judging every thought what the hell is? Spyware can be used in our PCs and cellphones to keep track of our movements record everything if someone wants to make the investment.

Anyone know how many CFD ambulance calls are made in the city . I t seems like I see 4-5 everyday as I'm on the street in the northside of the city.If I'm seeing that many just by myself I'm guessing theres way more then anyone would imagine.
ps - I will note that I myself have never ridden in a CFD ambulance and none of my friends or coworkers either.
496 is the cpd official number. That includes the speaker murder and the most recent homicide at 69th and damen. Even if we hit 500 its still not as bad as three years earlier when we were at 518 homicides. four years ago we were at 509. last year we had a HUGE decrease in the numbers.. now they are jumping up to prior year levels. I know everyone on this site likes to think the city is in "chaos" but its actually the norm. If you want chaos, go back to the late 80s and mid 90s when the jets were rolling. the average homicide numbers were 800-1000. this 500 stuff is nothin
how about......letting everyone and anyone do whatever they want, i.e., carry a gun (most thugs do anyway), smoke marijuana (legalize!), gay marriage (why not?), speed over the limits (hey, why waste time getting somewhere?).....it's the liberal way!

And I will make OT every time I have to swipe past my end of tour. In fact, I and others on the watch have talked about generating activity near the end of the tour so we have to stay past the end of the watch. A slip to the DSS will accompany the swipe out. I'll make copies of the slips and of the activity/event number that along with any paper to document it. If I don't get paid for the OT I'll file a grievance. Mo money mo money!!!
The city and tiny dancer can't dock you for swiping out and leaving early and not pay you OT when you are there past your tour. They can and will try, but they will lose that battle. Can't wait to see the look on the ballerina when the OT starts rolling in.

I purchased mine from DS Arms (Barrington Area). Will sell directly to Police with a permit to purchase. Contact Academy M4 instructors for info.

They're sold out throughout the state. I own 2 but was looking for a new one last week. Went into gat guns and picked up an AK instead. Decent price for the gun,ammos little pricey for the 7.62 but .223 will be that much very soon. Plus many places to buy ammo online. Make sure you get the Russian variant that takes all standard banana mags

A better question is, who would answer their phone - when it displays a work number - while on furlough?
If you or a family member, etc has a home, rental property or business in Clearing, now is the time to sell. Or else the city will fuck you too.

What if someone is shot in early December and lingers on life support until March? Or someone is shot in April 2012 and expires in December 2012? Or shootees from previous years that die in 2012?

Get the AK, more reliable gun and bigger round. ARs are overrated. The AK is designed to take abuse while the AR has to be caressed.

You can call "BS" on anything you like! The P.O's are from south side Dists. I'm not going to post the exact Dist because someone will post the name & the officer will get slammed by the Lt. & XO. If you need names that bad ask around, damn pretend your a officer!
Info for retired POs. I'm sure many of us retirees paid FOP dues for 2013 via either mail or credit cards directly to the FOP and later received a letter from FOP asking us if we would like the pension board to deduct the dues every year instead of paying FOP directly every year. Make sure both the FOP and the Pension Board didn't both took the money for 2013. I notified FOP what happened and they stated they would send me my overpayment dues money back to me.

Yes. $100 for using ER as a doctor's office unless you're admitted to the hospital through the ER. That's the same as usual. Wellness is still $0. Copay instead of having to meet your deductible and then pay the in-group rate. Visits to specialists are now $35 instead of having to meet your deductible and then pay the in-group rate. Diagnostic tests have undergone change, too...make sure you read your insurance packet because there's a lot to keep track of. All thanks to Obamacare.

Get used to it.We are of no use to anyone OTJ anymore.Yeah, we may still have a connect, or a "guy", but we are no longer the active Police.I've had it happen to me.
If this helps, there is/was a radio shop on 87th just west of the tracks at around Rockwell(?). They might be able to set you or CE up.Also,Radio Shack sells a book with frequencies to program into a scanner if you have one, although a scanner won't be much help if shit goes down. I hope that you at least have a CE radio to call into.

Had a funny experience -- CE truck in alley in Berwyn, quiet area, F/1 gal with inexpensive digital camera taking shots of bad pole insulators or something.
Said hi, how's it going. Absolutely bug-eyed TERRIFIED of me, older white guy, like we fit in the Iphone grabbers she undoubtedly lives around in the Blast Zone.
I think this comes under "dysfunctional" and/or "maladaptive."
