It seems 35th st. is sending Roussell a message that many in his age group dread: retire or get shuffled about. Just like the old cmdr of 009, I'm sure headquarters has his attention now.

Roussell is one of the last true leaders left in this pathetic, politically fattened department. It's a shame the ivory tower types fear him instead of embrace him and learn from his experience.
He knows the difference between being a boss (in rank only) and being a leader (by example, understanding, integrity and ability). That's what's killing our department-merit hacks! Incapable drones being promoted well beyond their means and thinking they're the answer to all that plagues the dept.
They're more dangerous because they believe their own bullshit and padded resumes. They walk around like peacocks and think that patrol or anyone of lesser rank is beneath them. They don't know what it means to truly lead.
Roussell gets it and that's what makes him a target of the inferior 'bosses' jealously. It's a shame but that's what downtown wants and damn it, they always get what they want...no matter the cost.
Jim Rousell was the best boss I ever worked for. He was fair and never played favorites.

The way the last Exempt process was supposed to work was that all seven chiefs had to approve of your advancement before you moved to being interviewed by McCarthy. So either we have seven hypocrites or the process was circumvented. Or both, Yeah Terry your legit.

Jarmusz was demoted from Commander back to Captain. Roussell is a lateral..His rank remains Commander. His position is Executive Officer for the Deputy Chief.
Now if he gets dumped , he''ll be an XO with commanders pay
what a system , less work , same pay so politically connected can get that big gold braid pension

Moving a Commander who was loved,respected and a leader makes no sense. The 024th District was a better place because of his Common Sense,Kind and Competant Management Style and his Real World Experience. He will be missed. Bosses are a Dime a Dozen,LEADERS aren't.
Terry Williams is a good guy. The 3rd watch in 008 liked him so much because he would give time off to as many P.O.'s as possible, not like the present commander Mc Goofy. Sure he's heavy but McNumbnuts "hates" clout, at least that's what he told a room full of sergeants at headquarters recently. He's just a Tiny Dancer's puppet anyway so what he "hates" doesn't matter. The bullshit never stops.

Jim Rousell has to retire next year, he will be 63, he is a good guy, I came up thru the department with him, He would have been the boss of a big spot, but fell in line with Weiss, and disrespected Georgas, and as amilitary man, he should have known better, but he still will retire with a commanders pension !!! For a minute there, I thought you were talking about the recently retired captain. 017 seems much happier now.
T-dub was a prince when he was in 008 because he had just got dumped from TRU as a commander to a watch commander in a shitty district. He was pissed off and became an anarchist of sorts against the department. Gave time off left and right because he did not care what people or the department thought, he was throwing a temper tantrum. Now that he is back in charge as a commander he will revert back to his old selfish me first ways. Good luck 024 you will need it.

I am all for this. It is about time commanders were assigned without regard to race. A good leader can lead no matter what their race is. I have no problem with a black commanding 016 and I have no problem with a white commanding 007. this is step forward past the racial politics of this city.
