Great Signs! The one for Michigan Ave. is perfect (sadly of course). Wish more officers would write in, I would like to know where they are all assigned to duty because it seems we citizens/taxpayers are to fend for ourselves a great deal of the time! If you are all in Englewood trying to make sure they don't kill each other, could you just put up some "walls" and make sure they don't leave that area and come to other parts to do their crimes. I love the police, we just need about 5000 more for me to love.

For let's say, 2 hours a day? THAT's 1200 hours of manpower per day. THAT'S HUGE.
What duties and responsibilities did these people have before where they can now take (at a minimum) 2 hours away from those jobs everyday?
What jobs and/or other duties get slacked on, if these people need to be at every street corner? Did they do anything before this?
Either this is a BIG pile of BS or the city is WAY OVERSTAFFED with people who never did much before this.
Either way, this is just another scam solution to what should be solved in a whole different way.
AND IT's NOT ABOUT GUN CONTROL, it's about crime and punishment. Do a crime in Chicago and do the time. Where is the State's attorney's office? Press charges instead of just watching out for your politically-connected Chinamen.

And where are the extra police to ensure that these so- called "safe passages" are really safe? While the citizens in 016 are being shot at, most of the coppers from the NW side are on the south and west sides of town, where they are not only unneeded, but unwelcome. What a fucking clown. Rahm's black eyes looked even darker the usual on the news last night. Guess his comptroller going to jail, reports he knew about this guy months ago, and 2 shootings ( that made the news anyway) in his safe passage zones has got him a little stressed.....
Totally off topic but wanted to let SCC and other CPD folks to know one of retired Sgts is bringing his trailer with a mural to the Fallen Officers Memorial on Thursday. We had two officers killed this year and it has been good to see the brotherhood helping out on his trip. He has been posting pics as he goes on facebook. If you get a chance come out and see him he is a really great guy.

Completely agree. Pulling workers off the job they were hired to do, taking time to transport them to and from their real job should take three to five hours of their workday.
And when is their REAL job supposed to get done? Oh, yes, of course; it will get done on OVERTIME.
