Retired Sgt Dies After Home Invasion

  • A retired Chicago police sergeant who was shot in the neck during a home invasion robbery earlier this month has died, his wife said Monday.

“He was a wonderful father and husband,” said Mary Ann Brown of her husband, Elmer Brown. He was 73. Mr. Brown — a policeman for 38 years who was legally blind and suffered from diabetes — died early Monday at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Mary Ann Brown said.

“He was completely out of it,” Brown said. “He was heavily sedated because of where his wounds were.” Holding back tears, Mary Ann Brown said her husband had been unable to communicate in any way since the attack, which occurred March 10 about 11:45 p.m. at the couple’s home on 115th Street, fewer than five blocks from the Indiana state line.

Two men with hooded sweatshirts drawn tight around their faces burst inside the couple’s home, and one of the men shot Elmer Brown in the neck after the two inquired about a safe in the home. After 10 minutes of the men ransacking the home, they ran out the house, seemingly empty-handed, she said.

No one was in custody Monday.
A God-awful shame that a retiree can't even be safe in his own home after almost 4 decades of serving the city. RIP Sergeant.

Bet your last dollar on it...

The system is the problem, not the police. Just gives credence to having your gun under your pillow when you live in this CRIME IS DOWN paradise in the Midwest..

This IS heart-breaking...

Please... If you know of any retired officers in your distict/area of assignment, just do a roll-by a couple/few times a tour.

Young Buck thinks NOTHING of hurting seniors.

This hits home because our few remaining elder Subject Matter Experts Emerti are in their 70's and 80's...

Remember... Nobody at City Hall or HQ gives a fuck about us but US!

The media doesn't give a fuck.
Nor do the sign wavers, bullhorn yellers or poverty pimpers.

Heh... The weak-minded public has been turned against us by the politicians and the media.

The Policeman is by himself just because he has worn/is wearing the Blue Suit with the star on his chest.

God Rest the good sergeant.
God Bless his wife and family.

May the dogs who did this never know peace, safety or comfort.

You have to leave Chicago and tell nobody you were the police in your new environs.

They new he was a disabled, retired copper and wanted the guns.

And no, selling the guns isn't the answer. They'll still think you have some. This place is a den of thieves. You need to leave.

The line from Apocalypse Now delivered to Capt. Willard Martin Sheen) from Gen. Corman (G.D. Spradlin) was actually "terminate with extreme prejudice." But, exterminate seems more fitting for the vermin that have infested this city.

Too often I feel our retired brothers are dismissed by those on the job. These men fought the fight before most of us knew it was even going on. Next time an old-timer stops to help out, don't tell him he's not needed, THANK HIM for his years of service. You never know when the time will come that you WILL need an extra pair of trained hands--old or not.

"Young Buck thinks NOTHING of hurting seniors."

The "social contract" was cancelled a long time ago.

"The Good Book says the evil will flee even when no one is in pursuit..."

I believe Shakespeare said "To the [criminal], every bush is an officer."

Even if a person has no conscience, you'd at least expect common-sense fear. These running free-range today have neither. Jail is pretty much the same as any other place to them.

You don't "deter" cockroaches. You -- uh, well, you have to...

Sssssst. Sssssst.

Sounds to me like the savages knew that the safe was there. Wouldn't it follow that the maggots were from that neighborhood and personally knew Sergeant Brown? It wouldn't be the first time that 'friends' or 'nice folks from the neighborhood', turned on a person they knew, and it won't be the last.

It happened to my mom when her apartment In Chi (and where I was born and raised) was burglarized, luckily while she was at work, and by one of her new 'friendly neighbors'. That's a God-damned given, the way they busted the back door lock would have made so much noise it would have woke the fucking dead!

But that's he problem with a lot of 'old people'. They feel safe where they've lived for 40-50 years no matter how it's changed, along with the new type of people around them, and then they start to talk about the nice shit they have. Then pretty soon the word spreads.

Hell, who didn't know some 'rich old lady' (or old man/couple) on the block growing up in Chi? There was always one or two. But we weren't fucking savage beasts waiting to pounce on the weak!!

So when these two are caught, and they will be, I hope they're put down like the rabid animals they are.

Sgt. Brown served his city and his fellow citizens for almost 40 years. Then retirement comes and he spends his time enjoying his life, reaping the small benefits of his labor and caring for his ailing wife, all the while fighting illnesses of his own. The doorbell rings and death comes in the form of two subhumans who want to take what the good man has earned. If the police do not catch them they will spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders. Every time they see a police officer, they will be struck with the fear of "is this where I pay"? And pay they will.

They will be caught, if not in this life then the next. One way or another they will answer for their crime.

Thank you for your service Sgt. Brown and Rest in Peace.

There WAS a time when certain things were uhhhmm, "understood" and went without saying...

Heh... You "too old, too mean, too angry, too hateful, too brutal, heavy fisted, culturally insensitive, anti-social, unfriendly, wild-assed, uncontrollable, blue collar conservative, pissed because it isn't 1960 anymore" Patrolmen know/remember EXACTLY what these "understood" things are.

These "smarter than everybody else" people like Rahm and McCarthy can't wrap their heads around the customs, conventions and dearly held cherished traditions of The Patrolman.

>Irritating like a m/fer noise of "procedural justice" being rubbed against deliberate constraining of The Police and granting of impunity to the criminal element under the guise of somehow "making up" for Police "misdeeds" of the past<

There was a time when motherfuckers KNEW they were good as DEAD if and when they did foul shit like this...

Even the papers ran banners like:
"SURRENDER OR DIE!"

Now that we have a cabal of wet-eyed punks running this department, city and nation.

The Patrolman is the one who is considered "funny in the head" for clinging to his obsolete notions and targeted for destruction by these smarter than everybody else smooth shaven, exquisitely groomed, narrow-shouldered, slippery talking, shitassed manlings who don't have the faintest idea of what real service and sacrifice are.

You can clearly see that they want to flee screaming in terror from real service and sacrifice (and the people who embody the same) whenever they're in the same room with them...

Yeah... Society desperately needs to go back to the old slow roll and nod of "understanding."

Oh wait... "If we support you guys, you'll be as out of control as the criminals!"

Nevermind... Society has openly declared who they're willing to make peace with and whom they're joyously making war against...

It's ok Patrolmen... It's just a pity that these people don't know any better. They'll come looking for us one day only to come to the realization that they made us go away.

For our Brothers taken away from us...

>Present... ARMS!<

GOD Bless "The Patrolman" because he is all alone in this God-Forsaken town where the dreams and aspirations of many a good men has died with them and only the hellish and wicked are allowed to thrive.

>Order... ARMS!<

Just... Heartbreaking.
