Crime is Down!

Pay no attention to these weekend headlines:
And that's just part of Friday evening into Saturday afternoon. There's still all of Sunday to go, but a rough count is eight wounded by gunfire, two dead by gunfire, four stabbed - two of which died, and a strangulation - 5 dead, 10 wounded? In under 36 hours? Yeah, McCarthy has a handle on everything.

Do the bloggers at HeyJackass.com have a March 2014 v 2013 comparison up?

And as a side note - 22 days, and not a single legal gun owner has had to answer questions in a criminal investigation, nor shot down innocent passersby, nor committed any overt act that might be considered questionable.

The FOP run off is a choice of the lesser of two evils. Dougherty has not given me him a single reason to vote for him. No matter how he spins it he bears some responsibility for us losing the retro and a years pay raise. His experience and the contract still be negotiated doesnt cut it. Angelo will continue with the contract and we are only getting what the sgts and Lts got anyway. Angelo for all his faults cant be worse. Bill has told to many lies. I voted Angelo.

Rahm tells her that he will find money for her after he solves the pension issue. Nice, no money for my pension and to make the payment that is the LAW, but you will find money for the children.

Last month's spin was that crime was down for 6 straight quarters even though March hadn't started yet to count it as part of the quarter.

This last week's spin was that gang shootings are down significantly from the past 2 years.

He had to do it knowing that the homicide count went up in February compared to last year and that March count was ahead of last year's pace with 10 days to go.

Can't wait for next month's spin. LOL.

Bring back the death penalty here

My district commander is contributing to crime reduction! He came to roll call on Saturday. He thanked us for all of our fine work. Then he told us we are not doing enough. We need more ANOVs, contact cards, blah, blah, blah. His hands shook as he told us that "they" are demanding this at headquarters. We are too cynical-we can't be that way anymore. We should all be happy; after all none of us has a three year old child with cancer, so our lives are good. His door is open but don't use it; talk to your supervisor. He doesn't trust anyone who works at his child's high priced private school. Yeah....I went out and produced all kinds of activity after suffering through that cuckoo "pep talk".

McCarthy should, but doesn't, realize his strategies are just that- strategies. Criminals don't fear the police and can be in more places than the police can. After all, why should they feel incarceration when the governor and Madigan want to release thousands of career criminals because of budget woes. His strategies are just to appease the public and the black Aldermen to keep his spot.

P.S. I hope he gets his Bronx ass kicked by one of Chicago's Bravest.
