Happy Easter. Wife put some eggs with coins in the front yard of our far NW side home this morning. 30 minutes later when the kids woke up the eggs were all gone. Either the easter bunny changed his mind or someone stole my kids' happiness. It was like 7am and my dogs bark at everything. Except this.

"A Cook County Sheriff's Office correctional officer and his wife, a Chicago police officer, were found shot to death inside a Garfield Ridge home early Sunday morning, officials said.
"According to Cara Smith, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Javier Acevedo and his wife Veronica were found dead inside their home in the 5300 block of South Austin Avenue on the Southwest Side.
"The circumstances surrounding their death was not known.
"The two had been found shot about 5 a.m. in the 5300 block of South Austin Avenue on the Southwest Side, officials said. The home was surrounded by police about 8:30 a.m. this morning.
"Smith said that Javier Acevedo was a 25-year veteran and worked at the county jail.
"Police are conducting a homicide investigation. The Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs had no other information.
"No other information was available."

Time for the kids to learn the facts of life about the big city. Teach them the democrats did it in the name of Easter Egg equality. This is a metaphor for the rest of life. If someone sees what they have and they want it they will just take it. Have the kids set a trap next Easter and when they see some democrats stealing the Easter Eggs, heave rocks at the bastards.

CRIME IS DOWN -- 4 children shot Sunday night in violent Chicago weekend

Four children were shot Sunday night...three were listed in serious-to-critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
"The weekend toll for [idiotic] violence in the city includes at least 9 people dead and at least 30 wounded since Friday night.
"The four children, who range in age from 11 to 15, were shot by someone in a car shortly after 7:30 p.m. on the 6600 block of South Michigan Avenue, police said.
"They had recently left a family Easter barbecue to play basketball near a school, said Ernest Porter, an uncle of two of the victims.
"Moments before the shooting, someone asked the group whether they belonged to a particular gang, according to both Porter and police. The group said they were not, and someone opened fire nonetheless..."
