Once a Thief
- Smooth-talking felon John Thomas once said the thing he loved about Chicago was, it was “the most forgiving” place for a convicted crook.
He’d better hope so.
The 51-year-old real estate developer — who got a second chance at life and dodged a prison term by wearing a wire against disgraced political fundraiser Tony Rezko as well as former Ald. Ike Carothers — has been up to his old tricks, federal prosecutors say.
And his list of connections is impressive:
- Thomas’s landlord Raghu Nayak — the convicted healthcare fraudster and political fundraiser who allegedly offered former Gov. Rod Blagojevich a $1.5 million bribe to appoint Jesse Jackson Jr. to the Senate — allegedly got $8,250 in rent he was owed, disguised as payment for “plumbing work” at the marina that he never did.
And Regina Evans — the former Country Club Hills Police Chief, convicted of state grant fraud and linked to several other scams — and her husband both got jobs at the marina, sources say.
Yeah, that guy, still out and still scamming. How does the old saying go - "You can't cheat an honest man"? He must not have run into many of those around here because he's had no trouble talking his way into one thing or another for over a decade.

Hey, there is money to be made for a smart and connected man/women. Besides everyone is doing it, including the government.
Literally, all the usual suspects. Only here could this happen. What a joke.
OT: Hahahahaha!

OT: my Mother owns a thrift store in 025. Last few nights, a burglar has made his own shopping hours. Three nights in a row. On the fourth night (reminds me of a song), he was caught. Good job everyone on 1st watch in 025. You made me very proud and thank you for keeping an eye on my mom.
Only cure for this Mutt is a slug in the noggin and a trip to the nearest landfill.
All these people know each other, and are compiled in the great Rolodex Of Evil.
Hear the little cards flip as it endlessly turns.
Heh...
And the feebs took down the Blago phone taps early because "Himself" was snagged on an intercept doing some questionable senate seat bullshittin', shit talkin' and slack jackin' eh?
Shits & Grins... Pull that one's finger and step on the other one's toe... How bout a little itching powder in your drawers, salt in the sugar bowl and Alum in the salt shaker?
 "Games people play-yayy!"
All fun and games until somebody gets slapped in the eye... It's the law abiding middle class, tax paying peon sporting one hell of a shiner because the names Nayak and Rezko are continually associated with "Himself" and our federal investigative agencies and the media continue to play dumb about these binding ties.
In the meantime?
No fucking stone unturned in matters pertaining to The Police...
"Well, you guys have positions of authority and the public has every right to know what you're saying/thinking/doing... Maybe if you took down that nasty, racist blog, people might support you guys. We're appalled that you public servants think and talk that way..."
The Patrolman is a second class citizen in the city whose streets have tasted the blood sacrifice of those who wear the blue suit of clothes with a star pinned to them.
More musings from a big, strong, old, dumb, brutal, racist, conservative, (ugh!) "angry because it isn't 1960 anymore" Chicago Copper...
"The Police are the problem in Chicago.
Once we solve THEM, everything else
will fall in place..."
Regina at a marina? Anyone count the boats?
I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding. Knowing the Evans duo, you just know everything is on the up & up.
The other day Canine units were at Lane Tech High School. Possible training, or doing a drug sniff of the hall lockers?
Regina Evans : when she gets out of federal prison maybe she can run for the cook county board !!
I heard that Evan's friend and convicted felon LT Earl Davis was to be named the Commodore due to his vast experience commanding the CPD marine unit.
It's the Chicago way. Take a look at what changes are being made over at the union hall currently and you'll find the same exact thing.
It took four nights in a row of burglaries to catch a burglar??? Wtf?
Best part is the douche bag ex-mayor comes out talking shit when he was part of the whole mess at da marina
If the government stuck to its basic functions -- police, fire, schools fixing roads -- there would be no crimes like this.
The problem is when the stupid taxpayers allow government to become a "developer." Then it becomes a money grab for the dirtbags.
Fuck that FAT ASS FOOL John Thomas.
Proof the Feds are corrupt came when they stopped the Blago wiretap early cover for criminal actions of other higher ups. Corruption from top to bottom in America, a sick, demented Country now. Our Forefathers who fought abd died for this Nation would be uttwrly ashamed of those who caused its demise, and those cowards who just stood there and let it happen.
Corrupt guys like Thomas are always slithering around city hall and beyond. The Feds can always make a deal when they need some heads to look good. Corruption is a 24/7 event in this city and always will be.
