Guns Lowering Crime!
Not here of course - Chicago criminals are uniquely immune to cause-and-effect according to Rahm, Garry and other morons. But in Detroit, the reality is catching the attention of the Chief:
- [Detroit Police Chief James Craig] “Detroit has experienced 37 percent fewer robberies in 2014 than during the same period last year, 22 percent fewer break-ins of businesses and homes, and 30 percent fewer carjackings.
...Criminals are getting the message that good Detroiters are armed and will use that weapon. I don’t want to take away from the good work our investigators are doing, but I think part of the drop in crime, and robberies in particular, is because criminals are thinking twice that citizens could be armed.
I can’t say what specific percentage is caused by this, but there’s no question in my mind it has had an effect.”

Homicides are down because no one lives in Detroit.
Of course the Detroit Chief does not have the insight to cause and effect that Rahm and Garry do, so he is probably wrong. Guns are evil, and the bigger the gun the more evil it has in it.
Kudos to all involved in bring down crime!!
Detroit is on the up trend and Chicago is still on the down slop. Can Chicago's South and West Side say scorched earth.
Hmmmmm...looks like Chitroit should learn from its sista' city, Detroit.
If that trend keeps up, some of those vacant neighborhoods might actually get a few working people in them.
Amazing how that crazy concept can work, right Rham and Supt Dufus? Astonishing to think of giving the citizens the ability to protect themselves and their families from the predators.

This is something the Mayor of Chicago and the Superintendent know absolutely nothing about. Leadership and the truth are foreign concepts to them.
Detroit also has 30% fewer people living there then in 2013!
Crime is down in Detroit because there are no homes to break into, no businesses to rob and no people to do the breaking, robbing and shooting. Simple. Just like how our trend was in the right direction during 2000-2010.....cuz during that period over 200,000 got forced out of the city while the city closed all the high-rise ghettos and pushed them out to the suburbs.....
Rham won't let the media report on good citizens defending themselves, that would mean people wouldn't need the government, thus not voting for the corrupt politicians.

These people have no clue what it means to walk around amongst the ignorant armed bangers in the ghetto, but they're sure that THEY have the answer to reducing the violence. That makes about as much sense as a street cop suggesting ways to change the way research is done to cure cancer.
All of these anti-gunners should be dropped off on foot, unarmed, in the middle of Englewood, at midnight on a hot, steamy Saturday night so they can truly understand how silly their opinions really are.

I think the police chief saying this is one part of the equation. The other part is DA that won't prosecute self-defense cases unless it's not legit. You know that that could never happen here. CCSAO won't prosecute unless it's for political points (just wait for the first white ccw owner to shoot a black man in self-defense and see how fast they move.)

True, Detroit has lost a great number of her citizens, and, from a proportional standpoint, crime is probably down. However, what about from a per capita standpoint?
People who were once surrounded by neighbors, had an unspoken level of "security". But, once their neighbors left, those that stayed were easy targets. After all, who would hear the broken glass, kicked down door, gunshots and screams? It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Couple that with hardly any police force remaining, and, well, it's a sad state of affairs.
The only hope those that stayed have is the ability to equalize the situation with a firearm. Sounds to me like they're using it. Good for them. Let's hope they apply the mozambique drill.
All that without CompStat either.
Could have doubled those numbers with it !
