Scarlet Letter Proposal

Can't see anyone ever agreeing to this:
  • Heres the new rumbling at the last board meeting downtown. Apparently the reverends, attorneys, guetto public were complaining of the 3% List, aka the list of 600 plus Officers that were made public with the excessive complaints. Well, one reverend stated how some of the public cant afford the newspaper or a TV but have a civil right to be "aware" of who these problem officers are. Well...this is where it gets good. Apparently the City doesn't have anything else to worry about (homicides, shootings, police morale, pension) they now after to "Scarlett Letter" these 3% of officers by identifying them to the public!!! What sad is not one boss opposed in fact some were adding suggestions........Black name plate with officers last name/district in white lettering, a band attatched to your name plate......these were some of the suggestions. FOP has all ready been notified.

This is a travesty and I hope FOP fights this. I will tell you one thing.....you put these 3% in one unit and let them saturate these problem areas......there wouldn't be a problem anymore.
Maybe we could have the same thing for aldercreatures and connected contractors.

Or "merit" promotees.

When the city(movers and shakers) finally gets the department it so dearly demanded of its officers, the city will have gone to hell in a hand basket. The result will be the city(movers and shakers) crying the police aren't doing enough to stop crime. But because no will want to work, for fear of getting beefs for either doing work or as payback by the POS.

We are our own worst enemies. When are we going to learn not to put our necks out for the riff raff in the city. This is what you get for being a hard working PO. Lets combine with all the large municipal police in the state to stop the type of actions, the FOP is worthless. One union for all law enforcement in the state. Strength in numbers and in votes. When are going to learn?

I would be ok with this scarlet lettering of alderassholes, but if we are going real old school, can we tar and feather them, that would be awesome too.

"you put these 3% in one unit and let them saturate problem areas......there wouldn't be a problem anymore." You got it twisted. This isn't 1963. People aren't going to stand around and take an ass whipping. You people really believe that two guys can really control six "hey squad we got six on the wall". They allow you to control them. These guys have been to gladiator schools, and aren't afraid to go back. The average cop hasn't had a fight in his adult life.

The Union's monthly Board meeting is this Tuesday, Aug 5th, at 10am. I hope enough members show up to make sure this topic is addressed. Next, the lawyers will be seeking info on more recent time periods.

How about if someone is a gang banger, can we tattoo that on their forehead. Or if they have been arrested more then a dozen times in their life can we tattoo a big X on their forehead. I guarantee you that a majority of assholes that were endorsing this half ass idea would be inked. Let the public know who the dregs of society are by tattooing them, I don't see the problem in doing that.

I'll bite, citizen. First off, it's not an ass 'whipping,' as those are illegal. Secondly. It's brains v brawn unfortunately, and although I personally am becoming senile I can still talk someone into doing whatever I ask. If you are a cop I don't wanna work with you. And thirdly, not sure where you work but every cop has been in a fight at some point. Some worse than others.

Addendum: they aren't gladiators. There sure is something primitive about them though... Can't put my finger on what that would be...

Wrong *Rev'run*, the 'public' does NOT have a 'civil right' to be aware of anything in regards to what's in Personnel Files of police officers. 'Problem' ones or not. That it was released to the public was a GIFT!

--- Or Rev, do you think that 'The Public' has a "Civil Right" to know what's in YOUR church's books, or YOUR background. No!, I thought not. Or Rev, how about our "Civil Rights" to know all about all the criminals in Chicago? Whose the Felons, Murderers, Gang Bangers etc, etc, etc that may be living next door. Maybe they should be 'Marked' so we know who they are just by looking at them. No, for sure you don't like that, right, Rev!! ---

******
This is the kind of BULLSHIT that happens when you live a lifetime of everything under the Sun being GIVEN to you for fucking free. Pretty soon you think every goddamn whim you have is a Civil fucking Right and if folks don't immediately bend over for your nonsensical *demand*, give in to your fucking idiocy, you're being discriminated against. Thanks you fucktard Liberal assholes!

These people have a lot of chutzpah.
They want the names police officers who
did their jobs, but not to the
satisfaction of the "I ain't tellin'
the police nothing, I didn't see
nothing" bystanders, yet they want
the police to respond when the shoe
is on their foot and they are being
robbed, mugged, or burglared or some
other crimes. Expect delays, long
delays. Call your religious leader, maybe he or she will show-up and confront the perpetrator for you.

This is probably from the same boss who was pissed we failed his dolly secretary at the range. She showed up with inch long nails and hit 15/30 The boss wanted to know who are we to decide that 21/30 was minimum passing. He further went on to state why isn't it 50%? He also said 1 out of 2 isn't bad. Just baffles the mind.

Here is an easy solution to not having the ability through media to get the information on the officers. Break into your neighbor's house and steal his TV.

Many if not most of the officers (some, now sergeants) on that list never abused a thug or beat the shit out of him. Many worked plain clothes tactical teams, and when you do that, you get CR numbers in retaliation, just for arresting them. The disposition of the CRs says it all. Most complaints were total B.S.

In Cuba they tattooed their criminals IR numbers on the inside of their lips, and code dots on the webs of theirs hands.

We could inplant electronic chips into them like dogs.
