Fudging Numbers Sort Of
- Two people were killed — including a 15-year-old boy — and at least ten others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night, police said.
The most recent fatal shooting happened Saturday evening in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
Typical fall weekend we suppose. But no mention of this:
- Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in the city's River North neighborhood, officials said.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, was found around 2:20 a.m. Sunday on a sidewalk in the 800-block of North Orleans, police said.
And if that big fire up north turns out to have been an arson, there's another one that won't make the books.

Do not forget the 3 year old that was murderd by his father in Rogers Park (24). Most disturbing child abuse imaginable. Another scum bag that was released from prison too soon.
I also saw in one of the online papers that a 61yr old that got shot in August died. Chalkie has been working quite super stealthy this year.
That 800 block of N Orleans had a murder back in August. Wonderful block, that is.
The hegewish murder from last month. Guy chopped up in a garbage can wont hit the books either. I hear they made it a 2013 murder
And when the Ferguson Grand Jury doesn't indict, what fun you will have!
It's all a matter of perception.
I'm really glad it didn't happen near my pretty loft.
Or does it?
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
I remember when the Sun Times still allowed comments after stories online repeatedly stating that the CPD crime stats weren't worth the paper they were printed on.
Good times.....
Hey SCC - Barring any late expirations from those unfortunate souls who've found themselves on life support, the weekend ended with 6 homicides (4 shot, 1 stabbed, 1 child abuse) and another 14 shot and wounded.
The same weekend last year tallied 0 killed and 11 wounded.
We're still awaiting word on the possible arson fatality - make that 4 possible arson fatalities resulting in 5 dead. The other three involved those two woman found in Austin last month and those two women found in burning cars in August.

Off Topic but more tax dollars spent on BS.
Today I was sitting in my living room and observed an enterprise rental can pull up in front of my house, a m/2 and m/1 get out and put a garbage bag over my garbage can and empty the contents and then place the bag into their van. So I go out there and ask them what they are doing? Of course their is a streets and
san suv behind them and some f/1 gets out and hands me a letter that the city is doing research on what we put into our black garbage cans. HHHMMM. So what company is this doing this research? VANECKO Trash Analysis group?
Interesting that the city has money to do trash research but has no money to put towards their pension obligations..
More money down the drain for a well connected company.
The libs only count gun deaths. All those other people don't count to the Mayor.
🔥 the fire up in 017 that killed a 10 year old boy was an arson.
From the FBI NIBRS manual, for Crime reporting which we still use the summary reporting system but nonetheless:
A LEA (Law Enforcement Agency)
should report only fires determined through investigation to have been unlawfully and intentionally set.
Though the agency should include attempts to burn, it should not include fires of suspicious or unknown origin.
I am just saying...Mmmkay!

Ummmmmm....You may want to consult an attorney. Sounds like you stumbled on an evidence gathering mission.

I really hope you cleaned up all the dog poop in your yard and had it in that garbage.
Add to this the pizza delivery driver, who did not have an IR#, who lays brain dead at Lutheran General after being shot in the head during an attempted robbery.
Researching your garbage? Tell them to go F -off next time. Probably looking to steal your identity. I know garbage cans and curtilage rulings and all of that court BS. I want my garbage going in the back of that big truck. Not in another garbage bag.
