- Police on Friday evening raided a Bridgeport towing operation that was featured in a CBS 2 report this week about one motorist’s claims the firm illegally towed her car from a public street.
Chicago police were serving a search warrant at Rendered Services Inc., 3611 S. Iron St., and collecting records and tow trucks for the cameras and data they may have inside.

Rendered Towing Service is among the worst for illegally towing cars. My wife had her car towed and it was 100% legally parked. Made a complaint with Secretary of State Police and they did absolutely nothing despite facts after facts provided. This company should be shut down, and the SOS police are only good for busting kids with underage IDs. They shouldn't pretend they actually enforce tow truck violations.
Rendered towing has been illegally towing cars for years. The people working the yard claim they are only documenting what the drivers tell them and refuse to take any responsibility for the drivers.
The drivers work on commission and can make over 100k a year. With no oversight what do you think they are going to do?
No way a company can have this many complaints for that long without being clouted up!

They towed me from 35th Street a few years ago and scratched my BRAND FUCKING NEW vehicle (less than a week old).
I immediately complained. They called the driver inside and pointed it out to him. He said the scratch was there before he towed it. They refused to even document it on their paperwork.

Magically Rendered services used to drive through the gas pumps with their freshly snatched cars. When asked if there should be signs posted so they take the long road to the yard, Alderman Balcer office didn't bother at all with that one.

Love John Coleman, when i started taking an in interest in the news, Channel 7 with Joel Daly, Fahey Flyyn and John Coleman was what i watched. Those were the days, good journalism good reporting, bow ties. Unfortunately, John Coleman's degree is in journalism not science. He has been criticized because his views are editorial in nature and not based in fact. Hi is not a climate scientist or a scientist of any kind and no one knows of any original research or a thorough review of the research he has done. He sites other journalists or researchers who agree with his views and does not study at opposing views or research.
They used to have a retired auto dick turn lawyer as their attorney. Don't forget that a pump jockey at iron works for them during the daytime.
fact;; after Quinn won his first Governors race, Render Services received a state contract for towing vehicles order by Illinois State Police. The contract came through with in two days after the election. This was documented on the 6pm news when it was awarded.
About fifteen years ago they towed a vehicle and the owner was present, a clear violation of the Ordinance. The owner jumped on the vehicle as it was being towed and was severely injured because the tow truck driver refused to stop. It ended up being a lawsuit but the company was not shut down and the driver was not criminally prosecuted. Don't kid yourself, they are "connected", you just don't apply for a license to tow cars in Chicago. And because they are Connected they get away with the stunts that were documented by the T.V., but that is only the tip of the ice berg.

All I know is that every time I drive by this tow company in my police cruiser on the way to the gas pumps that there is a disturbance in front of the locked gated fence. That's my blinders time!
Every time you see a rendered tow truck with a car in tow, stop them for not having their tow truck plate on the car being towed as well as brake lights on the towed car. Ticket them and send their ass to court.
I would stop them all the time until I got bumped up the food chain. I was a consistent pain in their ass.
The case came up and the investigator remembered that day their car was towed and the tow driver told them i don,t care if you are a cop screw you!
I hope they impound the tow truck too! and put a hold on it for investigation.

One time a RS driver had a gangbangers car on the hook in the Leclaire courts - I responded to a disturbance and the RS asshole gave me a hard time. So I advised him that I was leaving and that he could take it up with the large group that was forming. The asshole suddenly became a gentleman and unhooked the car. He was not carrying his gun that day.
Stop the trucks when they have a car in tow and hammer the shit our of rendered services.

I used to work in 009 and they towed my car once up north. Fucked up my car too. So now I hammer them every chance I get. I have written about 6 drivers tickets and have written parkers to about 4 trucks too. I don't give a flying fuck who these assholes know or to whom they make donations to who owns their company. I have almost 20 years on with $$$ in the bank and successful biz. I could care less if they know Obama. I even tagged the brother of a once Sgt from 009 who is now a LT. I give two fucks who they know. And now I work in another district (which I won't say or I will give away who I am for sure) but they are close by and I plan to hammer them some more until I retire. Again, I give two fucks if they know the Mayor, Burke or any other dirtbag politician. What are they gonna do to me when I am on the beat car? You know what? Not a fucking thing. What's up Billy!!!!

They hooked a car illegally years ago when I worked 1st watch in 009. Our 930 told them to release the vehicle and they refused, talking to him through the squawk box and refusing to open the gate. He called for a wagon, hooked a chain to the gate pulled it down. Then arrested the attendant for PSMV. Charged as a felony too. Pretty funny night. 930 now a commander up north.

Rendered Services might be bad and probably deserves all of the activity the posters above have mentioned, but nobody is worse than those thugs over at Lincoln Towing here in 20. Those crooks have a guy who acts like he owns the businesses that backup to the el tracks NW of the venue, who leads people away from the city's pay lot when it is full, and instructs people to park behind said businesses, and takes a $20 off of the poor suburbanites. Just as soon as they walk away to see the show the guy rings his buddies at Lincoln and they tow them off one by one in a row. I witnessed the line of four of them going back and forth to their yard for hours last night. Those clowns make $100+ per tow, and brag about taking home $2k/week. Those of you working here in 20 need to spend your free time earning karma points by nailing these weasels.
We had a towing place in our district for a while. They were a pain in the ass but when you went there for a disturbance they actually gave the people who's cars were towed a form to fill out to make a complaint with the Illinois Commerce commission for damages to their vehicles. I don't know if it went anywhere but they did move. They hired "gypsy" tow drivers who would take cars and place them on different streets so they could bring them in at a later time. Those were real asshole auto thieves.
tow co. had contract with jewel at 47/Ashland. spotter took up residence at drovers bank. operator snatched car from rear but front wheels cocked. driver takes out half dozen parked cars on snow covered McDowell with owner in hot pursuit on foot.
melee broke out with tow drivers and security protecting classic cars staged in lot for TV series 'crime story'.

Years ago some towing outfit snatched a two door Ford unmarked while the coppers were serving a search warrant.
The coppers chased that asshole all the way to the lot and he radioed ahead so as soon as the rear bumper of the car cleared, they closed the gate.
Same thing... A wagon and some chains to pull the gate down and they shot the dogs in the yard and locked up everybody inside.
Don't ever remember that shit-show having a final resolution either... A lot of bullshit in Chicago just "goes away" because fuckers are hooked up or mobbed up.
Years ago, 3 or 4 cars responded to a b/a at a liquor store at @ 0300hr... No biggie, just a code.
Heard the most awful racket getting closer and saw a home made, circa late 1950's "tow truck" (badly/drunkenly welded Diamond plate and 4" tube) hauling ass with a car on two chains with the front wheels bouncing off the pavement and a dude behind the wheel hollerin' his head off and slamming on the brakes...
