Quinn Finally Concedes
- Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn conceded Wednesday afternoon to Republican challenger Bruce Rauner, a day after the most expensive and bitter contest for chief executive in Illinois history.
"It's clear that we do not have enough votes to win the election," Quinn said.
The governor pledged to work with Rauner on a transition and said he would spend his remaining two months in office pushing to raise the minimum wage, which he made a central theme of his campaign.
Quinn won only a single county in all of Illinois - Cook. Rauner managed to peel off the other three or four and leave Quinn over 100,000 votes down.
The Quinn-bots and Madigan-hoes have been burning up the comment sections in force. Rauner hasn't even proposed, introduced and sponsored a single piece of legislation, yet he's the anti-Christ in a state of anti-Christs who have been slowly destroying the entire system over the past 20 years. Give it a rest - the election is over. Let's see if there's an actual stumble before throwing the whole thing away.
And remember, Madigan and Cullerton have veto-proof majorities in the House and Senate. There's still plenty of blame headed their way for stuff that gets to Rauner's desk.

We should hold him up to his words and make him see through to this special deal he has for first responders. Hopefully it is to at least fund our pension or offer something better.

The order of business should be:
CUT TAXES (high-tax states drive out businesses and therefore, eliminate jobs. You eliminate jobs, you eliminate the tax base - THAT PAYS YOUR SALARY - AND BENEFITS. Wake up - money doesn't grow on trees - especially in Illinois)
CUT WELFARE (Too many people feeding off the public teat. Cut out every illegal Bastard on ANY entitlement program. Also check for scammers who have more than one LINK card or other entitlement ID)
CUT ALL THE PENSION SCAMS (Got two pensions? Pick one. No more double-dipping. No more "Stacking on the salary" on the last couple of years to jack up the pension benefits - the Commie teachers are notorious in this area)
CUT WASTE AND SLACKERS - Do your job and get paid. Slack off and get fired. Simple.
All the cry baby whiners can go find a real job in the private sector and find out what a "great deal" they had working for the government.
Work for someone who has to make a damn profit and has real competition. You'll see a LOT DIFFERENT leadership style.
CUT OUT PHONY LEADERSHIP IN GOVERNMENT - half the supervisors are there for patronage - not for leading people. They couldn't lead a one-car funeral in Chinatown.
Cut out the "merit" hacks and give people real leaders. See how fast morale changes and people who want to work again. Instill a passion for the job and a sense-of-urgency and you'll get back the CPD that it should be.
I saw a passenger van in the hood, with a sign on the side that said, "Souls to the Polls." It was driving seniors to the voting polls. Most of the passengers looked like they were one banana peel away from the grave they were so old. I guessed the Machine was raiding the nursing homes for voters. I wish I got a picture but we were in a backlog and I had three jobs to go to.

Makes sense. They did the same thing in Detroit and made the police and fire pensions different. Only thing those pensions lost was the COLA.but kept all the other benefits. Not so with other Detroit city pensions.
Let us not forget that the last time around, Quinn ran on a platform of no new taxes. After winning by a .3% margin, Quinn then put thru the largest tax increase in Illinois history....within 60 days of his being re-elected.
Quinn set a new world speed record for the fastest break of a campaign promise.
I never forgot that, and I think a lot of other people didn't either.

I would like to see a reporter standing outside any southside polling place asking voters specifics on why they are voting for any democratic candidate. Now that would be fun watching on late night TV.

Bill Daley has been named to Rauner's transition team along with former Gov. Edgar. Finally we now see why Bill Daley suddenly pulled out of the governor's primary in the spring. Rauner was the guy. Rauner got Rahm to talk to Richy Daley who got the word to brother Bill and Bill, ever the loyal soldier, got the word and dutifully dropped out. Look for the Daley family to profit handsomely under RINO Governor Rauner.

Reminds me of back in the day when we manned the polls all day. I had a nursing home to watch. People in their beds being rolled in to vote.

The Illinois Income tax was not a new tax, it was an old tax that came about when Richard Ogilvie was governor. Republican. He got booted out the following election also. Then governor after governor never eliminated that tax, they just enjoyed spending the proceeds.
