I got some advice for some of the officers in 025/3W who can't stand Sgt. SM micromanaging. I used to work with him. Just do what he wants. it isn't that easy. He is a perfectionist and one of his main sticking points is he wants all case reports to be perfect. Just think of him as the new Sherminator.

The Anti-Rahm vote of Cops, Fire Fighters and other City Employees was the margin which pushed the election into this runoff. If Chuy wants to win he will need us again and promise in no uncertain terms loud and clear to give us what Rahm wants to take away.
Gary has always been an embarrassment to the city and to the Department. He got and kept the job as long as he cut costs and fudged the numbers on crime stats.
If, elected the first thing Chuy should do is fire Gary ad his NYPD cronies. Then get street level reps from every district and promise to them that their pensions will be funded and that NO ONE will ever be Superintendent who was not a P.O. in this Department.
That will start undoing the damage. God help him if he were not to keep that promise.

Garcia is far from an ideal choice for mayor, but there is no way in hell I will vote for rahm, especially after this last contract. He could have issued retro pay despite the errors of the last president/board but did not. He could have hired more officers but did not. He could have made payments into the pension instead of wasting millions on the bike lane project, depaul stadium, and another park for the daleys, but did not. He could change his patronizing and condescending disposition, but refuses and furthermore embraces this aspect of himself because this is what he believes people respect. Voting him out would be the ultimate slap in the face for this vile creature, as he not only desires, but truly believes he deserves this position. As I said, Garcia is not my candidate of preference either, however, we need to rotate these elected officials if only for the sake of stopping the previous official's corruptive roots from growing deeper into the system. Send rahm and his ilk packing and tell him not to let the wedding dress hit his ass on the way out.

But we have no control over outside influences.
Many will say this comment was written by Garcia, but I just look at the truth. Hell we have has cops kids kill their parent, who was a cop. Do we blame the parent. The honest truth is that no one can do anything once a child goes down the wrong route. You raise your child as best as you can. But outside influences sometimes screw up all you did. This city is a shit hole. There is no place that negative influences aren't there. How many cops kids I arrested through my career. As a parent the police parent will try to do everything for their kid, even though we shouldn't. It's called being a parent. Everybody on this blog should realize that we only have so much control and at a certain point in time, our kid's make their own choice. Open your eyes and think of the many times we have caught cops kids doing something illegal. If we can't keep our kids from turning out right, why do we blame others for what path their children take. Place blame on a society that has negative influences anywhere you turn.
Maybe we need a Mayor that has seen firsthand that this city has negative influences everywhere we live.
I know Rahm doesn't care, maybe it is time for a mayor who realizes that cutting crime and being proactive are the only ways to turn this city around. Contact cards and ANOV's aren't working. I'll take my chances with Garcia. Compstat, Rahm and McCarthy are not the answers. So you try someone else in hopes they realize change is needed. Worse that can happen is Garcia does nothing to improve things. So in 4 years we vote him out. But remember Rahm and Rauner are working hand in hand. That is telling us it is not good for our pensions either.
Take a second to think of the reality of our situation. CPD has gone down the tubes with incompetent bosses. Do we need 4 more years of this department circling the drain and just more smoke and mirrors.

I am teaching my kids to be law abiding citizens and to respect the police, because I am the police.. I can only pray and hope during their process of maturing they don't make mistakes.. But if they do then it's on them , I should not be persecuted for actions that my kid(s) have done.. I know for a fact there are police officers kids that have done much worse , so I don't let the decision to vote for chuy be based on my judgment of his kid..I feel another 4 years of Rahm is not an option period..
To the best of my knowledge Chuy hasn't told CPD and CFD that they need to learn to bleed. I also don't think Chuy has said he's gonna stick it in the cops ear.

In N.Y., a perpetrator is caught selling “loosie” cigarettes in violation of a law which bureaucrats and politicians like you Chuy pass and then expect law enforcement officers to enforce. This wasn’t his first rodeo for this perpetrator racking up 20 or so arrests for similar violations of tobacco tax evasion and assorted regulatory laws. The police are to blame enforcing the statutes that politicians just like you write, introduce and pass into law.
And when there are riots by society’s bottom feeders, the police are at fault for not talking, then listening and ultimately trusting society’s wild animals. Mr. Chuy, the general public is fed up with these thugs and the real threat they pose on society’s good people. More importantly, people are sick and tired of feeding, housing and footing the bill for all this lawlessness and living each and everyday in a constant state of fear.

At least Garcia's son has the balls to put 'em up. It makes a difference if the kid is 17 or 37. If he still fights police at 37 there is no hope.
I worked with plenty of police who got in some fisticuffs with coppers when young and a punk. They were great cops after they got their ass kicked and grew up a little, went to Vietnam and came back alive. I grew up in Austin when it was white working class.
Some called their youthful education the University of Judge Saul Epton. Saul Epton was Judge of North Side Boys Court, 937 N Wood Sr, 2nd floor. I met the honorable judge on just one occasion. Changed my life.
