No Street Vans, But This?
- Authorities were investigating after a dog was left in a Chicago Animal Care and Control vehicle for "several days" following an adoption event, a source told NBC Chicago.
"Missy" reportedly was with several other dogs at a Chicago Wolves hockey game but was "having problems" and had to be removed, the source said.
While the other dogs were adopted, Missy apparently was never removed from the van. When a volunteer found her Thursday night in a van parked in a city lot about a mile away from the CACC building, on the 2700 block of Western Avenue, she was "barely alive," the source said.
Most days, hell, most nights (and almost all weekends) there's one single van up and available for dozens of calls about strays, bites or deceased animals and no one at all for search warrants.

How do you not hear a dog in the back of the van on the drive back? That worker, who parked the van initially, should be locked in the van for several days without food, water and heat.

Gee maybe somebody should investigate and find out who left this poor creature in the van for several days. We know that won't happen because the morons clout would not be happy. Any one who abuses an animal should not have a job caring for them.
The people that did this should be locked in the same van for a day.

I think ABC-7 spent 5-7 minutes on animal stories tonight. The van and a guy killed while walking dog, dog injured from shooting. Yep nothing else going on in Mayberry.
Why would you want to issue a late night warrant for a dog?
Animal Care and Control is the Dearh Camp of the animal world. Why hasn't this service been privatized!

Hell, twenty years ago it was "there's one bite truck for the entire city, and they won't come out unless someone gets chewed up really bad...maybe."
Shouldn't this be the county's problem? Just like the removal of dead bodies?
Animal Control could have 50 vans and 4 shifts (same for Human Services) and still incapable of assisting. The ACC got $8mil for a rehab and another Rahm hack appointed Director.
Enough said.

Privatize all you want, and fees and taxes keep increasing and the number of employees now working for NGOs, private-firms-with-a-phone-call-for-a-no-bidder, "community groups," "activists," revs, etc. just triples, quadruples, over what you had before, with even less service rendered at vastly greater expense.

Why does the city have to do the county's job? Animal control should be done by the county. Along with DOA removal. Perhaps use all the Cook County forest preserve police as dog catchers?
The dog is alive and OK from what I heard, and was hungry and thirsty. I hope she gets adopted.
City plumbers handle
1. All the police stations,
2. All the fire stations, and
3. All the libraries.
Guess how many plumbers handle them all?
THREE. One North, and who knows where the rest get stuck? They have stacks of work orders they can't get to because they're fighting the emergency calls, just like the little Dutch kid with a finger in the dike!
So if your toilet has a slow leak you might as well resign yourself to waiting, because, just like with our squad cars, preventive maintenance is apparently a money-waster in Chi-town!

I made sgt and had to give up the parking blitzing on Wabash onoo1. I am a boss and my uncle Tom got me the head boss for watching the conract cards being submitted are all done correctly.
Please-Please people get those cards in and try to do at least ten a day. I seen out great 1st. deputy wants more of them. They are such a great tool in getting the bad eople who commit crimes off the street. I got a dept commandation from Mr. McCarthy for all I do in getting those cards look so good for the hole department to see.
I bet you are think this., Ues your old parking guru still has the uRge to write a parker. Our little secret, I still do write one a weEk and have a bOok in my purse just in case I get that urge to write one for those BaD people who park without the Nickel in the mEter. Every dollar in fines helps our mayor. I Miss MR dALey our great mayor so the money in fines xould make all the flowers grow all over the city for US. We all miss him, no ?

Fuk hugh....you heartless bastard. You must be the jag who left this dog behind, either that or another brain dead sob.
I hope Missy is OK. What a terrible ordeal for this pooch.
I hope the POS that left her in the van gets fired. If not, Karma will catch up with him very soon.
