Again With the Prison Mel?
- Former U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds stood in front of the cameras three years ago with signs that read “redemption.”
“It’s what you do after the mistakes,” Reynolds said in 2012 while announcing a run for a congressional vacancy left by U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.
But redemption appears to be elusive for Reynolds.
Some 20 years after his first criminal conviction, Reynolds was just named in a federal indictment alleging he failed to file federal tax returns for four consecutive years, the U.S. Attorney’s office said.
Not just, "I forgot one year." No, Mel has failed to file for four years. That doesn't qualify as an accident. And remember, this guy was a Rhodes Scholar, which means he's supposed to be intelligent...or connected.

And they keep letting him out to play and prey on innocence!
For a Rhodes Scholar....this just is just plain DUMB!!!
How do you spell connected??
A bit O.T. but related to prison...I saw the movie "The Five Seven" a story about corruption in the NYPD in the 80's on ONDEMAND after reading reviews of it on THEE RANT. A different era and hopefully gone.
Rules and Taxes are for the little people.
He got away with tax evasion for four years. Is that because he was snitching for the feds like Al Sharpton?
Can someone answer the important question?
Who can Mel snitch on? Or who has he snitched on?
Because he probably doesn't want to go back to prison.
Maybe Rev. Al Sharpton can take Mell under his skinny wing and teach him the finer points of avoiding the IRS. Al owes something like $ 6 million to the gubnet and has no intentions of paying. He strolls in and out of the White House every week. Just a lucky guy I guess.
Harold did the same thing. He got thirty days in County.
Ha. Remember the sainted Harold Washington?
Convicted of tax evasion stated he "forgot to file".
His birthday was April 15.....

Correction it should be the Seven Five for the 75th precinct in NYC.
Did you ever notice that he always has that "just got caught jerking off" look on his face?
At least Mel has not lost his good looks. 🍉🍆♠️

The movie about NYPD corruption is entitled "The Seven Five", This Brooklyn precinct is known as East New York, arguably the bloodiest precinct in NYC. There is no 57th Pct. in the NYPD

What about Al Sharpton?
Bill Clinton was also a Rhodes Scholar . . . because no one else from Arkansas applied that year.
Junior high level reading comprehension and math skills are necessary to complete a Form 1040. This fact may explain why so many politicians fail to file.
Maybe Mel and former alderman Medrano can share the same cell and the feds can put a brass plaque for them as frequent flyers ?
