How Many Shootings?

  • Chicago has hit the somber milestone even sooner than the violent year of 2012, when the city saw 500 homicides for the first time since 2008.  Shootings that year were up 11 percent. The city reached the 1,000 mark on June 9 in 2012. In 2013 it was on June 26 and last year it was on June 15.

This year, Chicago passed the mark sometime late Thursday into early Friday morning, according to data collected and analyzed by the Chicago Tribune.

Through Monday morning, about 1,050 people had been shot in the city since the year began, according to the Tribune's data. Through June 8 last year there were 924 people shot. In 2013 the number was 820 through June 8, and in 2012 it was 981.
Thank goodness they changed the uniform order!

1,000?

Chicago is exceeding all expectations!

And with blacks as 3/4 of those shot, that's 750 lives that matter with a hole in them.

How does Garry still have a job? Obviously the strategies he has developed and implemented are failures. Chicago has more people shot this year then New York and Los Angeles combined. Think about that for a minute. Then think about how Garry is the highest paid city employee. Makes more then Rahm!

McCarthy was a one song band and that song never cracked the top on hundred. So which Emmanuel choice was worse, McCarthy or Brizzard?

I am betting Emmanuel wishes he'd let McCarthy go a few years ago and paid his contract out instead of Brizzard's.

As a civilian, I wonder how many of the shitheads with prior felonies to get caught with guns only receive a slap on the wrist. Fucking liberals need to go.

Liberals say poverty and guns are reason for the violence and shootings.

Ok, so why isn't poor hillbilly West Virginia shooting each other at the rates like Chicago???

Can some liberal please answer this for me ??

Over here in wonderful Gary Indiana sheriff is blaming neighborhood code enforcement for rising crime rates!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/post-tribune/news/ct-ptb-gary-homicide-program-st-0606-20150605-story.html

No more police needed just more code enforcement to stop crime! Maybe he should cover up tattoos and change hats yep that will work! As SCC says "silliness and sarcasm!"

Gary was bad from the star, ruined New York and New Jersey before coming here. My theory is they want all the gangbangers to shoot each other, it's cheaper than incarceration.

All this is going to change since the new order is out on uniforms and appearance... The criminals will cease activity due to the crown cap deterring it! lol. What a joke our job has become.

Time for the Rev to hit the street and stop the carnage. If as they say black lives matter then they should pursue the offenders with the same vigor they go after law enforcement. That is if they really care or are they just against law enforcement.

The brass doesn't care about the homicides or violence they care about contact cards only. As crime is up so are contact cards. We lead the country in contact cards that's what matters. Keep up the good work..

Who cares, let the savages wipe each out. Less assholes on welfare. Welfare costs us trillions each year but our pensions are the problem. Fuck it, give them more guns and keep letting them out of jail. They are committing genocide but instead choose to blame the police for everything, while all the white liberal sheep eat up their agenda based lies. This country is lost. Stock up on ammo folks because when the police stop caring the savages will be at your door.

Here's a thought:
Treat these shootings as urban terrorist matters. Is it any different than ISIS shooting up the street. The results are the same. Federal urban terrorist law + Chicago shootings + federal prosecution under an urban terrorist statute together with a terrorist level (life sentence or death) sentence = a better result than what we are now getting under existing laws and prosecutions.

Wake up prosecutors. The police make the arrests. Where it goes after that is driven by weak laws and inconsistent prosecutorial discretion. The breakdown is after CPD involvement. Anyone listening? Bueller? Bueller?
