This third or fourth weekend in a row of 30+ dead and wounded and summer is still two weeks away.
With the daily shootings, every week has a body count exceeding 50 or 60 people.
Chicago is still averaging over a homicide per day.
This is acceptable to Rahm.

Rahm has planed for such a body count. It is cheaper than hiring more cops.

OT: It was nice to see a few mounted officers and the mobile response van outside the Ronald McDonald House today. The kids and families loved it and the officers were super cool.

Overall, crime is down. There is a percentage decrease in the increase. According to Supt. McCarthy.

* You get to run wild all day and night, yelling and peeing and breaking bottles, and drive around shooting people and throwing chunks of concrete through house windows, smashing sleeping babies' heads
* When some lead comes back your way, there will be a great funeral, with custom-airbrushed RIP T-shirts, a "repast," and then a "procession" in which everyone can drive crazy and blast obscene, threatening music, slugging Hennessey and passing blunts and shooting AK-47s to "show respect."
* Then some "pastor" will give you MORE new T-shirts and ball caps and stuff, and you can march in the "anti-violence rally" and yell some more.
* If the police do anything, you get to smash and burn and throw things and grab more s__t -- then you put on your "Black Lives Matter" or "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt and hit the street again.
Death is a way of life. Death, and T-shirts.
Seriously when is this goof McCarthy going to be gone. He has done nothing to have a positive impact on crime or issues within the department.
Chicago has become the laughing stock throughout the country with other police departments. It's actually embarrassing at this point. Garry is in way over his head. He would be a good chief of police in a small suburb in upstate New York. Not a major city such as Chicago. Remember, just because he was a high ranking New York police official, doesn't make him competent. He was over promoted in New York because of his clout. Sound familiar? Do you think Barb West can run the New York Police Department?
The unwanted herd is culling itself. Let's hope it continues.
Just FYI, this was actually a "good weekend" as compared to last year. Because only 5 were killed we just went down to a single difference himicides total(percentage) as compared to last year. Start of the week we had 19 percent more himicides compared to last year... This morning now we are down to only being up 8 percent

The short answer to your question is no...
The "responsibility" is not ours to accept.
We as individuals and a group, do not have the
granted authority to hire and deploy.
Our responsibility begins and ends (in this current
anti-Police climate) with responding to calls for service,
taking victim statements, generating a report if the
victim desires one and on those rare occasions, taking
offenders into custody ONLY on a signed complaint by
said victim(s).
For all others?
It's all about calling CFD for a wash-down of the blood, shit,
brains, offal and other gore blasted all over the pavement
and overseeing the body-snatchers doing their thing...
Lather.
Rinse.
Repeat.
On to the next one...

Nope. One-man units can't do that. Undermanned districts can't do that. Overworked, exhausted officers can't do that. Officers locked down on fixed posts for entire tours can't do that.
1:53am....McCarthy is blamed you goof, because he is the head of this department and thus all strategies (which have failed miserably) come from him (And the Mayors office.) If we were given the proper equipment, and had people making decisions that werent balless and allowed us to be "The police" again then maybe crime wouldnt b so outa control!

The majority of officers are assigned to a fixed area "box" and cannot leave to make arrests. McCarthy priority is to prevent crime and does not like arrests. So, how is that the fault of street officers? Bring back the task force to make serious arrests.
There is a war on police now so don't do any work for a few weeks and let's see how the people of the city of Chicago like that
Instead of thinking up more new uniform changes to show how wonderfully smart and educated you are, why not let the police be the police?
The problem isn't whether or not it's acceptable to Rahm... the problem is that it's acceptable to the "community".
Have special employment in every district Friday 1800 - 0400 and Saturday 1900 - 0500 , Sunday 1500 a- 0100
Assign 5 two man units to each district and crime will go down .
If only there would be away for thugs to not commit homicides or shootings. We all know gang bangers don't like tattoos and baseball hats. I bet if police officers had to cover their tattoos and not wear baseball hats crime would surely drop. I bet a Chicago casino on it. Look Troll, McCarthy was brought in by Rahm as a HATCHETMAN.
His only real function is to cut the costs of the most expensive function of city government and the employees and the citizens be damned.
There isn't the police officers on the street to stop the violence anymore. Those who are there have been stripped of any incentive to risk injury or their future for a justice system that is stacked against them. Rahm doesn't care. The taxpayers are getting used to never seeing the police in their neighborhoods. If there is a crime a call to 9-1-1 gets switched to 3-1-1 and their crime gets downgraded without the expense of police ever showing up.
But Rahm's political contributors are making good or their investments.
