Again with the Drinking

  • An off-duty Chicago Police officer has been charged with DUI after a woman was struck by his vehicle and critically injured on the Northwest Side, according to Police News Affairs.

Police say the 21-year-old woman was waiting to cross the street in the 7500 block of West Belmont when she was struck by a vehicle driven by the off-duty officer around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. She was taken in critical condition to Loyola Medical Center.
Hopefully, she recovers. Stop driving drunk. You will face the full weight of the law because you are the police. You will spend untold tens-of-thousands in legal fees. You will serve time in prison if someone dies - the last few are serving at least 10 years. You will be fired if you are not clouted up the ass. End of lecture.

Even off duty, your still a cop. Your not answering radio calls or technically on the clock but if you fuck up in any way, it will make news because your a cop. And these days they're gonna make an example of you. Your gambling with your life and future. The department already gets embarrassed enough from the top so no need to add to that too. Know your limits

Listen well what SCC stated !!! You will also lose your health , both phyical and mental after an incident of DUI and hitting someone. You might as well live in the forests of the land. No clout will save your ass. Seen many a copper lose it all and some ate their gun. Walk home, cab it, or sleep in a gangway. Getting in your car after stopping will be the end of the line guys.
If you got the curse, get help from EAP ! Do it for all of us that survived getting a hit for DUI. Ols days are gone, you will go to jail.
Bless all you good men and women of the CPD. You will make it to the end for the retirement if you listen to good advise.

Never tell anyone anymore that you're the police. Today it's better to just say you work for the city and leave it at that.

I tried to post about a retired PO (actually POS in this case) in the UBER thread and my posts wasn't OK'd by SCC. This POS, who thinks driving drunk is a perk and is known as the "Mayor of Clark St.", bounced off his bar stool from Sluggers and started putting his nose where it doesn't belong in the UBER accident with a squad on Friday night. Who is he? He's the same POS retiree who bounced two Lane Tech students off the sidewalk with his BMW one afternoon. Here's more on the 'Mayor', a degenerate gambler with his hand in the pockets of the trust fund kids running Sluggers these days:

Updated at 8:30 AM CDT on Thursday, Jan 6, 2011

Two Chicago high school students were injured Wednesday as they left school for lunch.

The 15- and 16-year-old girls were hit by a car after they left the Lane Tech campus and crossed the street at Addison and Western.

Witnesses say the car hit the girls, then crashed into Hero's sandwich shop. The building may have prevented the car from hitting more students walking to nearby restaurants for lunch.

One girl suffered a broken ankle and the other minor injuries. Both have been released from the hospital.

Police say the driver, 61-year-old George Corso, told them he blacked out just before the accident. Police cited him for negligent driving.

Corso was also treated and released from a nearby hospital.

When will people learn? Too many other options today so you don't have to drink and drive. If you know you're going to have drinks, take a cab or better yet, use uber, which is easier then calling a cab.

100% correct, SCC.

I've been around a long time and have seen this department's culture turned upside down. I can honestly say that the one good thing that has changed is the attitude towards drinking. You younger guys aren't up to your eyeballs in booze like most of us were. You are avoiding untold headaches at home and on the job by not drinking, or drinking minimally. Good job.

Please don't drink and drive. You have no idea what those left behind from a drunk driving accident with a death deal with and it doesn't go away. I have a bumper sticker on my car and it says, "Someone I loved was killed by a drunk driver." Don't drink and drive.

The hard heads among us don't want
to listen SCC.

We'll add:
Stay the fuck out of so called "Cop Bars"
and others such.

You know damn well every time the media truly
gets a hair across their collective ass, they run
an "Exclusive" or "Investigative Report" on how
they stake-out known cop spots to "show" the
public just what those wild-assed, out-of-control
cops are "getting away with."

The problem is lack of RETALIATION by The Police.

With Mutually Assured Destruction comes "Detente"
and an understanding that such TARGETED FUCKERY under the
guise of "the public has the right to know" (Conveniently timed
for Sweeps Week of course) will result in newsies and media types
having THEIR fuck-ups put out for public tantalization & titillation.

Funny...
Newsies get to hide behind expectation of privacy when the contents
of THEIR panty drawer are publicly laid-out sunny-side-up.

Notice how they whine when they're in a very public pinch and YES,
they DO cover up for each other up to and including criminal conduct.

Who can be assured of any damned thing when the so called
"Guardians of The Public Trust" are so hopelessly compromised
and corrupt themselves?

"Fair and Balanced" has been forcibly bent at the waist and
rump-jumped into oblivion in this town and newsies have their
pert little noses out of joint because you brutish, out-of-control,
heavy-fisted, gun-loving, some-kind-of-phobe Cops give them
the collective shit-eye.

But things ARE taking an amusing turn as Policemen are
very actively reducing their "foot print" in response to the
politically motivated media war against The Police.

"No fair! You guys can't get away with protecting yourselves
against US! You're public servants fer chrissake!"

Make yourselves hard and difficult to hit targets, Officers.

What's wrong with that picture? Short suspension.

He'll probably get 30 days. That's the standard for DUIs.
The problem is I think its an automatic 12 month drivers license suspension which means he'll have to exhaust his time due and other days he might have but then he goes on no pay status until his license is reinstated. If its a judge who doesn't like cops(we all know most of them don't) then he/she won't let the guy get a work/school driving restriction. Its a big shit sandwich and he'll be taking a bite but hopefully he learns the lesson. Hope the girl gets better. This is no time to fuck up if you're a cop.

Neighborhood boundaries have NOTHING to do with Police District boundaries.
