FBI Toots Own Horn
- U.S. authorities foiled attacks planned around the Fourth of July, arresting more than 10 people in the month before the holiday who were inspired by Islamic State online recruitment, FBI Director James Comey said on Thursday.
"I do believe our work disrupted efforts to kill people likely in connection with July 4th," Comey told reporters at the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He did not detail the number of plots uncovered or their targets.
Separately, a national security source said multiple overseas plots by Islamic State sympathizers had also been halted in recent days.
Well gee, thanks guys. Now how about some of your accountants come over to Chicago and start running through Rahm's and Richie's books and see where the massive theft of taxpayer dollars occurred.

The FBI couldn't catch a couch in a living room.
Making up bullshit to justify their existence and make us all feel safe. I don't buy it for a minute.
Kudos to the FBI they are doing the work that other LE agencies and state/local departments are incapable. Thanks to the FBI's efforts Americans remain safe.
Taking down the Confederate flag around the nation was no doubt a big help to the FBI, in their war against terrorism.
Maybe the FBI is getting more serious. They ignored the Russian FSB and the Saudi's warnings when they both tried to tell them about the Tsarnevs.
How many of the "dangerous terrorists" were actually mentally incompetent loud-mouthed teens that never did anything until an FBI informant egged them on? One story I saw said the FBI informant had to give the jihadi wannabe the money to buy a gun and ammo to plan his attack.
Why don't the fbi do something worthwhile like look at daleys bullshit along with all of the aldercreatures they might really find a way to cover the cities shortcomings.
They saved us but they can't say who was arrested and where the attacks were supposedly gonna happen.
I appreciate the boys at the FBI halting those damn terrorists. I myself, stopped around ten murders last week. Of course, I don't go about telling people. I was raised to be a bit more humble.

They did a great job under Holder/Mueller, identifying and arresting all the terrorists who attacked Benghazi, arresting the IRS for denying rights to organizations, arresting Holder when caught lying to congress, solving soccer fraud in Switzerland, Clinton speaking fees while Sec. of State. I hope they solve the crime of underinflated footballs in the NFL. As the country sinks.
I also singlehandedly stopped millions of terrorist attacks this past Fourth of July weekend and I don't have any proof or arrests to show for it either.
Kinda like a fire department saying "Look how many houses didn't burn down because of us." Feds have always been stooges and always will be.

Hey, I'm a reasonable guy. if they did a good job and headed off some bad s__t, well, props to them. Could be BS -- but it IS true that we didn't have any mass atrocities in the US over the holiday, with all those attractive "soft target" crowds -- just the usual mindless street violence despite massive CPD O/T here.
That said -- I, too, look at 'em sideways.
..and, yes, let's scoop our "white collar" criminopolitical class; the whole Combine, in which, as the old saying goes, "One lawyer with a pen can steal more than a hundred men with guns." Maybe "One good accountant with a pen can jail many more lawyers and speculators and manipulators than a hundred men with guns," too. Let's give 'er a try, huh?
