Run Away!

People are still running away from Illinois as fast as their cars can take them:
  • The U.S. Census Bureau report released Dec. 22 is compelling evidence that Illinois needs pro-growth, pro-jobs reforms. The report shows that Illinois recorded its first six-digit loss of residents to other states, with Illinois losing 105,000 more people to other states than it gained from July 2014 to July 2015.

The “border war” losses were so bad that Illinois’ total population shrank by 22,000 people on the year, the worst ever. Similar to last year’s 2013-2014 data, Illinois is the only state in the region to have a shrinking population.
One resident every five minutes. A resident, most likely a tax paying resident with a decent education and more than a few prospects, choosing to exercise those prospects elsewhere. An unsustainable model if ever we saw one. Great job Illinois voters!

Good, take away some of Illinois electoral college votes and give them to one of the growing red states.

I would tend to blame the loss of population on climate change and a worsening of northern Illinois' climate. Frigid winters.

Only productive citizens can pick up and move out and start somewhere fresh, not some parasite who lives off of welfare who has never left their area code. Tradesmen , business people, truck drivers and any professional with at least a 4 year degree should move out of Illinois because the only ones who will be standing when this place falls apart are the welfare parasites and the mega rich, neither of which have to work for the remainder of their lives.

PLUS, wife's cousin and his family going down to another part of Florida.

The gp of R&D has been out of work for the past week and a half.
All her days off have been accounted for on the A&A's has her having worked all of them.
The kids don't go back to school until Jan 4th.

Hey, maybe the new interim Superintendent might want to step up and handle this gp.
No one at IAD seems to care that this theft is going on.

In less than a year, I will retire from the Chiraq PD. My wife and I are out of here. Illinois is the worst state in the nation for out-migration and fiscal responsibility. The charts on the link provided by SCC are interesting.

There are seven states with no state income tax. In alphabetical order, they are Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. In addition, New Hampshire and Tennessee only tax interest and dividends.

Effective next week on New Year's Day, Shitcago, Crook County, Ill-Annoy will have the highest sales tax in the nation at 10.25%.

Why doesn't the FOP do an exhaustive study of the above factors as well as sales taxes, property taxes, etc. in the other 49 states so in retirement, we can choose where to jump rapidly from this financially doomed state? I would also prefer to live in a "red" state. I can't stand these damn liberal, Democratic politicians and their parasitic constituents. They are destroying our once great nation.

Based on the average non-Democratic vote in the last two presidential elections, the following "red" states are listed in order by the percentage (in parentheses) of their respective electorates that did NOT vote for the current president: Utah (70.4), Wyoming (69.8), Oklahoma (66.2), Idaho (65.6), Arkansas (62.1), Alabama (61.5), West Virginia (60.9), Alaska (60.7), Kentucky (60.5), Nebraska (60.2), Kansas (60.2), Louisiana (59.7), Tennessee (59.5), North Dakota (58.3), South Dakota (57.7), Texas (57.5), Mississippi (56.6), Montana (55.5), South Carolina (55.5), Arizona (55.1), Georgia (53.8), Missouri (53.2), Indiana (53.1) and North Carolina (51.0).

Let's call a spade a spade. If you have any options, you will leave. The fact that you are held hostage here as city employees is the only reason most don't live over the border in Indiana or Wisconsin, or at least in a suburb of Chiraq. Anyone who stays here and has an option to leave is a complete degenerate. Choosing to stay in a city, county and state known for the highest taxes resulting from the highest and most despicable levels of corruption is a sign of pure stupidity. Staying and continuing to vote for the democrat shits that caused it means you are a criminal moron yourself, or so utterly stupid that you deserve what you get for staying.

They're not really leaving, they all left the wife's wedding dress in a storeroom in the basement, that way, when the current altitude challenged midget leaves office, they can return to claim the crumbs left over. I'm surprised that minijag and the fifty thieves haven't claimed that everyone that pays taxes can't leave and has to continue to render tributes because of a forced lifetime residency rule.

No one ever asked the voters if we wanted to make this City a sanctuary. The politicians took it on themselves to decree so.

Can't blame them. In a few more years I'll be relocating to another state where they actually have fiscal responsibility. Until people start voting for financially conservative reforms here, it will continue to get worse. Bottom line, we cannot afford to subsidize every aspect of people's daily life. The number of productive workers in this country is dropping while the non-working, government dependent scammers continue to increase.

There's one other thing that this Mass Exodus from *The Peoples Republic of Madiganistan* effects besides the Tax Base that everyone pretty much overlooks: Electoral College Votes.

A state gets One Electoral College Vote per 565,166 people (there's a couple exceptions). And thanks to folks fleeing Madiganistan, this Population Exodus means we've went from a high of 29 EC Votes in 1930, to 20 EC Votes for the upcoming 2016 election.

And though most us know, but many don't thanks to rotten schools & teachers, Population also determines how many seats a state gets in the U.S. House of Representatives -- the drop in one is a drop in another. The result is that not only is IL less important in presidential elections (it's why nobody breaks our door down campaigning here) but also less important in Congress and the Federal Government in general.

So you really have to hand it to DemonRATS, they've hit the Trifecta.
--- 1) We're less important in elections.
--- 2) We're Less important in Congress & government
and last but not least.....
--- 3) We're going broke in the goddamn process!!

They couldn't have done 'better' if they'd planned this. Then again, knowing demonRATS, maybe they did.

I am long time resident of Wyoming, parts of my family have been here since the 1870's. To those of you looking for a place to retire, Wyoming would be a great place to do so. We have a low cost of living, right now gasoline is $1.79 cents a gallon. I have been everywhere in the State when I was a member of the 67th Army Band a Wyoming ARNG unit. My favorite area is around Torrington which is North West of Cheyenne. Compared to Chicago this part of Wyoming has a tropical climate.

Back In the day, we tracked a couple of goofs who enjoyed preying on welfare queens for the usual bennies, sex and money. The ladies got smart, and left for Wisconsin, with better welfare payments. Our POlice impersonator stats fell way down. Then the ladies moved to Minnesota, same reason. So did the dime store badge brigade. But one of the ladies returned, maybe to pick up a check she overlooked, and stopped by to complain about the dim & Dum following their trail.

So, we spoke to the gents, just for culture, to see what the latest migratory trend were. It was simple, "you follow the money."

Ever so happy to be retired, out of state.

Things are cheaper here and one is not frowned upon here for carrying or wanting to carry a gun for self-defense. I'm not retired by the way. Quality of life. We moved to Wi from a lower tax state, but north eastern wisconsin. Our property taxes are high, but we bought a nice house dirt cheap, food is dirt cheap, great hunting, fishing, etc.
We spend a little more in taxes, but get an astronomically greater amount back in quality of life. And money wise, lower cost of living makes it all a wash financially.
Do your research when it comes time and consider all that you value.

It's a Catch 22. We dislike the state and the city, yet when we and others leave the state, who will be left to pay our pensions after we retire?

If everyone could agree on one week, or even one day, when no one signed up for VRI, the taxpayers and politicians would see what would happen to the city without police presence. The city needs to hire more police officers, and by working so much VRI, we are ensuring that the future will hold fewer officers paying into the pension fund.

Lived in Chicago my whole life. Grew up in 60'-70's. There was NEVER this much traffic congestion back then, when we had over three million people living in the city. I can hardly navigate around my neighborhood anymore, it is packed with people that don't speak English as a first language. There is well over three million in the city, the politicians just don't want to wake up Americans by telling them the actual numbers because it would be torches and pitchforks time. Bike lanes restrict traffic flow, cameras restrict traffic flow, planters restrict traffic flow, stop signs in the middle of every block's crosswalks restrict traffic flow, outdoor cafes in PARKING SPACES restrict traffic flow, unpainted, poorly marked streets restrict traffic flow, unrepaired potholes restrict traffic flow, speed bumps on every side street restrict traffic flow...
Can't understand what your issue with traffic could be. ;-)

Yes, the quality of those leaving matters more than the quantity. Whole swaths of this city don't pay a dime of freight. Best wishes to all, this is tearing lots of good families apart, but the trajectory has turned decidedly negative. Who knows where the tipping is? Just don't find youself owning a useless box of air in this city once that point has been passed. Bigger changes ahead - at least in the 60s & 70s there was still some productive businesses around - now it's all diploma mills, emergency rooms, and holding cells.

They all said they love it here and would never leave Chicago. All they care about is making money and partying on weekends. All their out of state friends are also coming here. Just sayin.
