Yup, the stats in the chi show that the arrest and conviction rate for shootings in in the 20% range... Nice guys. The conviction rate for asshole drug deal is higher than that... What's the deal?

A tragedy, yes, but you left out the rest of the story:
Grieving Elf-Momma has retained the law firm of Low & Lower. Through her attorney, Jon Even Lower II, she announced she will be seeking $7,000,000 ($1M for every shot) in damages from – get this – Santa, insisting that blaming kids for this shooting is just part of the cover-up by Santa (aka Kringle). Before retaining his own lawyer, Santa denied any conspiracy and said he became a target of the suit only after Elf-Momma was told by her lawyers that he had “the deep pockets.”
Many kids were interviewed, but no one would identify the shooter. Some wore red and green “Don’t Snitch” shirts and taunted police by yelling “get the f*** back North you Kris Kringle-looking m*therf****,” and “only ho, ho, ho ‘round here is yo momma.”
Father Elph blamed the NRA, the toy gun lobby and bigotries of the American Santa-class for the shooting. A chant of “Elf lives matter!” was taken up by his backers and he finished by announcing a protest at noon.

And Elf on Shelf was just turning his life around.
Ok anyone who can design "The Mourner on the Corner Doll" will make a fortune.
Lawyers will get involved and collect 40% of the action, then blame police.

This elf is not representative of the statistics.

Big Mama said "My elf was just a baby! He was turning his life around!" Mama also stated that Elf Jr. took a candy cane to the stomach two years ago during a gang fight to protect his cousin.

I have suggested to a few of the pastors of Black parishes that I have know that they replace the over-commercialized image of Santa Claus with a Black, gift bearing image of one of the three Wise Men. As a kid in the early '50s the first concept of black people I had was that one of the three Magi was Black.
