Wrong Fifth Floor

  • When the federal watchdogs landed in town to start sniffing around police headquarters, it signaled to many that they’ve got their investigative noses pointed in the wrong direction — upwind from the traditional source of the department's strongest stench: City Hall, that is.

Now, don’t take that as the opinion of a cynical reporter.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, after all, is the guy who reminded everyone exactly how entrenched his administration — and the City Hall operation of every mayor for more than 40 years, for that matter — is in the day-to-day operation of the Police Department that the feds are investigating.
The Department has been a political football for years, only breaking from the mayor's orbit for a short stretch back when the old mayor Daley appointed O.W. Wilson, and "appointment" that was engineered by....old man Daley and brilliantly told in Mike Royko's novel "BOSS." Since then, the Department has been drawn steadily back into complete mayoral control.

Don't believe us? Remember what happened when J-Fled though he could not answer the phone when Shortshanks called? The mayor helpfully appointed J-Fled's Chief of Staff whose sole function was to answer the phone and tell J-Fled, "The mayor is one line 2 and wants to talk to you." There were no more missed communications after that little tiff.

It's would be nice the the FOP picked up the ball here and started pointing out who really runs the Department, where all the big decisions are made and where all the appointments are coming from. But given the connections that run from LaSalle Street to 35th street to Washington Blvd, that might be too much to hope for.

Who can forget Rahm looking like he shit himself
when he said the Feds were coming after initially
saying they weren't?

Rahm is afraid HE will become the investigation...

Well... His stealing over $1 Billion from CPD since 2011/
running the department on the cheap is at an end.

The Feds WILL make him spend money on training at least.

No you don't have to ask your bedfellow Rahm if it'd be ok to do that.

We all know Dean is a one term president. If for no other reason, then for not getting in front of the Van Dyke matter. Not getting reelected doesn't phase Dean however, because his city colleges job is lined up and a position is going to be created just for him.

That would be great if they started at the most blatantly obvious place, Lasalle street, but let's not forget who's telling the justice department what and how to do, the guy on Pennsylvania Ave, it's all smoke and mirrors. And since Rahm and Obama are like one, don't expect anyone to get run over, except CPD. So rally behind these protestors, at least they got it right about the corruption here and we're able to oust one crony, and pushing for more, something we could never do.

Did anyone hear about the gun threat at Lake View High School and the poor way it was handled by their principal and his staff?

Lake View's principal said the threat was unfounded, yet, he increased security for Friday. Parents were extremely upset by the late robocall notification from the principal and they were pulling their kids out in droves on Friday.

Here's the DNA Info Chicago article along with a letter the principal sent home to families:

Feds will bring down ballerina dancer , he alone orchestrated the pay off to keep media from investigating the knife wielding criminal .
If that video was out , Jesus "Chuy" Garcia would be Mayor now . Mayor Garcia would have ordered a forensic audit of city hall and the entire machine would be indicted . Feds should start with the money trail , what lawyers represent the thugs that receive millions of dollars of tax payer money from ALLEGED Police misconduct . Why would a city pay out one cent to a thug that police were forced to use reasonable force against yo make an arrest or deadly force to protect himself or others . Follow the money .

Nope. Remember we're the problem.... Rahm said so when he was throwing us all under the bus.

Rahm Emanuel places blame on the Police.
He's exactly correct.
Looking over those previously posted links on Merit Promotions proves the claim.
On those lists are the Triple Merit Promotees that many are still sucking up to their fourth and fifth tiers.
Chances are if you took and passed a promotional exam, you're stuck in some nasty district on midnights.
This merit practice doesn't look like it will end anytime soon.

Totally agree, although I remember when Leroy thought he was in charge for a minute.
I forget what incident prompted the comment but he said to reporters that the police department was on 11th and State and city hall was downtown. Richie always one to blow a gasket at even a small (little man complex) slight went nuts. Many pols and citizens wanted to keep him Leroy on when he turned 63 or hire him back as a civilian but little silver spoon said you could not change the rules for one guy and kicked him to the curb. He then never allowed anyone but a complete hand puppet in that seat and allowed Daley crime family member Townsend to run the department from first chair until he was 67.

The feds won't change shit! The moronic voters will continue to put these crooks in office forever in Shitcago.

The rank and file would love to see a "one bite at the merit apple" rule. How about that Feds? It would help prevent the mess we have now. Maybe a recommendation at the end of you investigation. It's on us. No charge.

If the department and city is making people on disability return to duty that can sit answer phones ,etc then why don't they take dean Angelo off disability and only get one check instead of scamming the pension fund/ disability ! He appears capable ( not really) of running a union and collecting two checks . Then he's capable of returning to the CPD and get one check !

Word is certain supervisor in The Detective division worried that their personal phones are now being monitored. (not the crackberrys)

Seems these clouted call other phones on police incidents that are not on any City hall logs! (burner phones?)

The FEDS will likely match up the number then backtrack data to see what pops.

Just a few thought to ponder on federal review of C.P.D….

The federal government oversees the Social Security program. Under direct control of the federal government’s best and brightest, the system will soon be insolvent.

The federal government runs or ruins the postal system. Billions of dollars are spent each and every year to keep this government run entity afloat while companies such as U.P.S. and FedEx turn a profit and provide quarter dividends to shareholders consistently.

The federal government has been tasked to protect the borders and control immigration. An estimated 10+ millions violated national sovereignty , work jobs for employers who circumvent employment related taxes and the extensive related myriad of mandated regulatory paperwork, collect government run benefits and overwhelm then bankrupt the “free” healthcare systems. We are then told they live in the shadows only to be documented with generous government entitlements under the watchful eyes federal oversight and audits.

The federal government runs the work and student visa program. Nineteen hijackers on 9-11 overextended their visa system going undetected in our nation but the federal government wants to provide oversight and policy guidance to a big city police department. Remember their shortcomings led to a national disaster on a grand scale with the loss of over 3,000 lives via hijacked airliners. Airport security is under the watchful eyes of the federal government.

The federal government runs and subsidizes the annual deficits of Amtrak. The feds have a proven track record derailing and crashing their trains in a consistent manner. To their credit, the federal government effectively railroads the American public in so many ways.

The federal government balances the nation’s checkbook year after year to the tune of a 19 trillion dollar deficit. The nation’s children with inherit a credit card which is due and will lead to a national financial demise and lower standard of living for future generations.

The federal government oversees the alphabet federal law enforcement agencies which failed the American people with bureaucratic “snafus” leading to the Boston bombers, the San Bernardino refugee holiday party appreciation fireworks, workplace violence at Fort Hood, etc., but will soon dictate policy to the Chicago Police Department under threat of judicial orders, a hostile takeover and arrests for those violating a federal consent decree. Progressive policy which has its roots in academically manufactured social agendas of correctness will destroy a once orderly society and swing the pendulum in favor of aberrant criminal behaviors with the persecution of local law enforcement professionals. The only option left for an orderly society will be federally controlled policing.

One incident caught on tape and there is a “systemic” and “widespread” pattern of behavior and corruption. Never let a good crisis go to waste on a federal level. With all the good management and oversight of things that government does best including social security, Amtrak, balancing the budget, running federal law enforcement agencies which always seem not to connect the dots or outright drop the ball, managing immigration law, Visa enforcement, the postal system to name a few, who can cast doubt that the federal government knows best. I trust the American people to right the wrongs not some entrenched bureaucrats who couldn't run a lemonade stand. Now if they can just clean up the fifth floor at 121 N. LaSalle not 35th & Michigan. Better yet, let the feds get all their houses in order before they start with ours!

I said it a while ago and I will say it again; I worked the cameras for a few years and 1 of 2 things are screaming out at me, because they WILL NOT SHOW THE WHOLE VIDEO. 1., Van Dyke DID overact and is guilty as hell, OR (the stance I believe in), goof got up AFTER the first two shots WITH THE KNIFE OR ANOTHER ONE and came after the officer. I can only reinterate the "21 foot rule" of edged weapons AND the fact that goof was all PCP'ed up. God forbid either scenario is shown to all the "concerned brothers and sisters of the struggle" because either way, Chiraq will be Ferguson/Baltimore 2.0.

JVD is a victim of Rahm Emanuel running CPD
on the cheap ("putting efficiencies in place") so
he can siphon monies that USED to go for TRAINING!

Use of Force.
Shoot/Don't Shoot - Target Discrimination.
Scenarios/Role Playing.

We remember in years past, having to fire some nearly
1K rounds a year getting whistled in for training on
company time.

Hopefully the Feds don't believe a fucking word Rahm
or his minions have to say in this regard.

Stick it in Rahm's ear and make him restore the money
for the training we used to get.

You are incorrect . The 63 and out is actually a safety bill that was signed every 5 years. Depending on what city hall wanted they would let it lapse and sign it when it served their purpose.
