Damn Those Police!

  • The Chicago Police Accountability Task Force held the first of a series of forums to hear from the community Tuesday night. The group was formed in response to public outcries on the deadly police shooting of Laquan McDonald.

Frustrated residents offered dozens of suggestions, including: track and punish officers accused of wrongdoing, fire cops who lie, and diversify the department.
Notice the phrasing - "track and punish officers accused of wrongdoing." Not actually officers found guilty of wrong doing, just those accused. It's as if no one there has ever heard of the Constitution, Due Process, Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, etc etc. This must be why they so often make dope dealers, murderers and assorted felons their heroes.

Firing liars is a good idea, but proving the lie is the issue. Just because "he said, she said" is in conflict, doesn't always mean a lie took place. Interpretation is a big deal, and how one party interprets the actions, words, facts doesn't mean they are wrong in their interpretation.

Diversity is a noble goal, but at what cost? Lowering the standards across the board? Overlooking some unsavory backgrounds? Dumbing down tests? Promoting the criminally incompetent? The Chicago Police Department already does that and more.
  • The room was half empty, but Chicago's new police accountability task force got an earful Tuesday night. Many pointed directly to the video of police officer Jason Van Dyke shooting Laquan McDonald 16 times.

"If Jason Van Dyke went to jail that would scare some of these policeman from just gunning our innocent grandkids down," another attendee said.
Um, that's why there's a trial dumbass. And again, "innocent" while under the influence of illegal narcotics, armed with a knife, committing numerous instances of property damage - your "hero" doesn't just have a dirty halo there Brainiac.
  • "At the heart of this is racism and racist officers and their behavior," attendee Pamela Hurt said.
Prove it. Seriously, prove it. You make this tired old accusation, but there isn't a shred of anything to support it. Are there individual racists here and there? Sure, and in your community, too. But a blanket accusation like that needs to be rebutted and proof needs to be presented, immediately, so as to nip it and end it right now.
  • A former Chicago police officer told the task force race matters, saying: "What you need is people who look like you to work in your community,"
You know what? We're going ask Dean Angelo and the FOP to support this proposal wholeheartedly. We hear it constantly from the community, from the "revrunds," from so-called "former cops." You know what? It's time to embrace this proposal fully and unconditionally. Black cops for black communities, white for white, brown for brown. At the very least, the pale sections of town will get something closer to the number of cops they're paying for. At best, you'll expose these morons who keep saying it for the ridiculous dumbass racists that they actually are.

I am amazed how all these loyal Democrat voters want to turn back the clock to the not-so-good old days of Separate But Equal?
Do they really want the segregated 1940's and 1950's back?

The African Studies Professors and students want their own colleges, their own dorms, their own neighborhoods and black run businesses. May as well given them their own police, laws and courts too. Only if they take their own prisons! That would at least cut down on the prison violence.

US Democrat Senator, and Grand Kleagle of the KKK Robert Byrd, and Bull Connor, loyal DNC Committeeman are probably laughing in hell.

AND the comment, "People need to see people who are the same policing them." Sounds a bit racist to me??!?!?

So I guess if I drive through Chicago and a non-white officer tells me to stop, I can just keep going because "He don't look like me."

-WHITE POLICE = RACIST
-WE NEED TO REPLACE WHITE POLICE OFFICERS
-WHITE PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE THEY ARE RACIST BECAUSE IT IS IN THEIR SUBCONSCIOUS THOUGHTS.

The only systemic racism is that being perpetrated against Caucasians. Caucasians will be negatively affected by the openly racist comments by those Democrat, Liberal, Progressive loons in power.

Ok, I heard it on the radio this morning and wondered why it took so long for the stupid to chime in? The news reader was reporting that maybe Laurie Lightfoot could be considered as the new Superintendent. Sneed according to the reader writes that contrary to popular opinion, the Superintendent does not necessarily need to have police experience. I guess supidity knows no boundaries in Chicago. This is exactly the kind of decision making that ended badly in Detroit. Hire people for positions in which they have no experience and expect a successful outcome. But then look at the house where Sneed works. She is living proof that that a) you need not be a journalist in order to have a newspaper column and b) in the case of the Sun Times, you need not have ownership that knows anything about running a newspaper. Hey Sneed, how is that business model working for the Sun Times?

This is just part of 'social engineering' . The aclu and b.l.m. are a hidden political agenda. The boiled down reason why parts of the black community is in shambles ,is from social engineering . In the 1960's this manipulation created the welfare state. The government will control the raising of your child. The government will house, feed and generally care for the child. What was the desired result ? A population of non thinking zombies that will always keep politicians employed.. The social engineers now need police officers to lay down and stay out of the way of the self important attorneys, and future self serving politicians.
It's an easy task to vilify the most visible aspect of American society. Our proper response should and always be , you get the police department you want.
Whatever we have been doing in recent times is clearly working. The aclu is releasing statements claiming not to be responsible for the rise in violence. Let the aclu ,blm, reporters and the boy loving priest patrol the street. Clearly, they have the answers. If they love their community so much, then put the cameras down and go talk to their neighbors on the street corners. If you want the police out of your neighbors lives , then go be your
brothers keeper.

Yes, I hear the tired old phrase that the department needs more officers of color so they can relate to the community and solve the crime issue. How did that work for Baltimore, Atlanta, St. Louis, Detroit, Washington DC and closer to town, Harvey, East Chicago Heights, Robbins, Gary ? In my mind this is a good goal, but a constants refrain of this is racist in itself. I saw the photo of the retired black police officers calling for change and I recall working with some of them. Some were great, some were average and some were dogs. The same percentage that any white group accounts for. I worked for black commanders and found some very good but some were out and out racists and a few were corrupt. These town hall meetings that are being held with people given an open mike to blast the police and say unsubstantiated things need to go both ways. Let the cops take the mike and make accusations about the public and how it is working in some of these neighborhoods. Now that would be interesting. Lets go both ways.

I think it is racist that a black neighborhood like Englewood, which covers an approximately 22-block by 20-block area, has at least 20 two-man cars working there every afternoon, yet a white neighborhood like Garfield Ridge has only one two-man car covering the same geographic area. Often people in the white neighborhood won't call the police because the police won't respond for hours.

Isn't it against federal law to have practices that discriminate based on race? All those black people in Englewood are being stopped in far greater numbers than in their white counterpart neighborhood. Take half of those officers in Englewood and put them in Garfield Ridge. The positive result will be less black people being stopped and arrested. They will have less contact with the police. And there will probably be just as many street stops on the white people to even out the numbers.

Start putting the same amount of officers in white neighborhoods as they do in black neighborhoods. That is the only way to be fair. That's what everyone wants, right?

Right??

The statement of let's have the officers who look like the community police it is a racist comment. Why doesn't anyone bring that up as they report this stuff. They preach diversity and respecting everyone, but they don't want another race in their community. That is the reason why the city is so segregated. Every community wants to keep its identity and the residents do not want others who don't look like them moving in. Just look at Logan Square and Pilsen, the people who lived there do not want the yuppies moving in

I take offense in being called a racist. My parents never raised me that way. Thank God for the ACLU and their recommendations!! No more questionable stops. white Van Dyke shoots/kills a black offender with a knife and is being crucified

black officer shoots/kills unarmed black passenger after terminated car pursuit
black officer shoots/kills unarmed black person at red line station
black officer shoots/kills unarmed motorist after car pursuit

white Van Dyke is awaiting murder trial and was given 1.5 million dollar bond

not lambasting the black officers or their circumstances but I will point out this, none of them were charged with murder or given a large bond, there are two sets of standards here

we want black officers in our community! so you want segregation?

sixty years ago "separate but equal" was questioned and eventually found unconstitutional

it was really separate but unequal, and I believe that those who fought it truly fought it because that wanted integration and equality

now I suspect that they want separate but equal, or separate and more

I have arrested people for killing other black people, I arrested those for sexually assaulting black people, I arrested those for robbing black people, I arrested those for burglarizing black people's property, I have chased people down dark alleys, gang ways, through yards and through abandoned houses and apartment buildings. I can confidently say 99% of those I arrested for these crimes were other black people committing these atrocities towards their own people/community. I will be more then happy to police MY OWN community and finally get a break after 12 years. I have never been the subject of more racism then when I started working in a black community nor have I ever seen a race of people who were more racist toward white's, asians, hispanics and middle easterner's then the black community that I work in. To the unpublished "brainiac"

Listen here dumbass - the list of offenses being committed was to point out how inane and insane it is for the "community" to be holding up this criminal as some sort of "hero" because he managed to meet his end at the hands of the police.

In no way, shape, or form did we equate property damage with Deadly Force, but even your dumbassery knew that, correct? It was just a convenient hook to hang your hat on in an effort to demonstrate how stupid you actually are. Well done.

(1) Holding a knife and (2)refusing to drop the knife is a clear-cut Deadly Force situation in every Department we know of...what happens after that is based solely on the actions of the person with the knife.

So crawl back into your hole lib-tard. Build your straw man somewhere else and make your "equivalent" arguments to other morons down at the student union.

He did stop him as he had a duty to, and prevented further mayhem and potentially lethal attacks by the deranged armed offender. Dummycrats, liberals and ghetto residents will be in shock and awe at the verdict.

If you truly believe that Van Dyke is going to walk away out of a courtroom like Servin did, you're an idiot. Van Dyke will never convince any judge or jury (although he will never request a jury trial) that his life was threatened. Anyone thinking otherwise has their head up their ass.

Well, the next step should be that all of the tax money paid by whites only go to white communities and all of the tax money raised in the black community should only go to their communities : schools, infrastructure, police etc. Now wouldn't that be interesting?

2/03/2016 06:10:00 AM

Since the day McCarthy was fired, many of us have commented that Lori Lightfoot could be named the next superintendent. What took Sneed so long to catch on? Doesn't it seem that Rahm has been grooming Lori for this position for quite some time now? He appointed her head of the police board many months ago. This gives her some insight into how the board and disciplinary action works. He named her head of the task force to find a superintendent. This gives her the opportunity to attend community meetings and gain some insight into what the people want and feel about police, as well as communicate with other law enforcement persons and get their input on what they think cpd needs. Add this to Lori's background of being the head of OPS, working in the mayor's office at city hall, being a US attorney working with federal and local law enforcement and prosecuting criminal cases, and defending a white cop pro bono against a false accusation and winning the case. All of this experience put into a little black female lesbian with a brain and calm demeanor = Rahm's vision of the best candidate for superintendent who could possibly save his ass from all the public hatred.

How about forming a Chicago Family & Criminal Accountability Task Force to put the onus on the folks causing the all the trouble the police have to respond to.
The common street thug is NEVER accountable for their crimes. Never.
Revolving courtroom doors and absolutely no punishment.
If the Chicago Police Accountability Task Force wants to recommend anything to the OB-DOJ, first have them grow a set and then blame the community for bringing out the worst in every person they come in contact with.
Hey CPATF, treat the disease and not the symptom.
Blaming the police for the placebo pill that didn't cure the cancer doesn't make things right.
Now your mayor is thinking of appointing a civilian Superintendent and that is total quackery.
That's what's wrong with the Department, is the pathetic politically appointed management no matter who or where they come from.
It's really US against THEM.

But great read SCC

The four officers cornered Meyers in what amounted to a game of kill or be killed. In this instance, 32 police bullets tore through Meyers - ending a wasted life.
This was the first time, but not the last time Detective Walsh has been involved in a shooting incident. He is not afraid of the inherent danger of working a crime ridden district where Walsh and fellow members of the Violent Crimes unit investigated 210 homicides last year. "I prefer to work in places like that. I like the action," he said.

Detective Walsh, a Northwest Sider who graduated from Lane Tech High School, has received four Department Commendations, a Life Saving Award, and a Department Commendation from the Minneapolis, Minnesota P.D., since coming on the job June 16, 1986. He added another trophy to his growing list of honors recently, by being named the Emerald Society Police Officer of the Year for 1997 for his part in hunting down Archie Meyers.

Walsh, a member of the Emerald Society of Illinois for the past 10 years, comes from one of the most famous police families in the city. His dad, John J. Walsh commanded the 13th District for 13 years and was a Deputy Chief at Area 6 before retiring in 1992 after logging 36 years on the job. His wife Kathleen is raising four children while presently on leave from the Chicago Police Department's 24th District. Denis' brother Michael is a sergeant in Eleven. His father-in-law Russell Weingart is assigned to the 20th District.

That's quite a police legacy for one family, but Denis says that the inspiration to become a law enforcement officer was his own. "Dad did not adamantly encourage it, but when you come from this kind of background it makes sense," he said.

His goals in life are simple, but one frequently voiced by thousands of Chicago Police officers who have worked the streets for 10 or more years. "Getting my police pension and putting my kids through college - that's all that I really hope to accomplish from all this."
Denis Walsh is way too humble when he talks about himself. But he has achieved far more than what he is willing to give himself credit for, and will likely continue to do so if his career up to this point is any indication.

To "yours truly, SA"

We're assuming you aren't a cop. We don't have to admit anything, and if you read through all of our writings, you'll see we venture ZERO opinion on certain aspects of this case. We point out the attempts to deny Due Process, the Rights of the Accused trampled in the name political expediency, the rush to judgement by everyone under the sun, but we aren't required to admit anything.

The process has to work and it has to work fully for all involved parties. We'll condemn when there's something to condemn, but as of this moment, we don't know anything about what's coming up at a trial...and neither do you. But we will bet you a toothpick, here and now, that the primary charge in this case never sticks.

So we'll be deleting your comment for the inflammatory language contained within, but we do so only after having explained what is and isn't going on here in order to expand your viewpoint.

This garbage is nothing new. Back in the mid 80s Commander George Samms wanted the same thing for 003 District. He made no attempt to hide the fact that he wanted all Officers in 003 to be black. As a result most of the veteran white Officers transferred out if they could. The only white Officers that were left (maybe 10 to 15% of the Officers assigned there) were rookies sent there out of the academy and those that didn't have enough time to bid out. The district remained a shit hole and still is today and from what I remember the black Officers were much more brutal to blacks thugs than any of the white Officers working there. Stay safe Officers no matter what race you are.

While there is a strong valid argument that Van Dyke was legally justified in what he did and you believe that there will be hellstorm when he is acquitted.

I wish I could believe that will happen.

The public will agitate for a jury trial. Jury selection will be an ordeal. And the jury outcome will depend on the racial makeup of the jury.

All-white jury:he walks. City burns
All black jury: he goes to jail for ever. White people P&M but nothing else
Mixed jury: mistrial after mistrial after mistrial
Bench trial: No judge is going to take the hellstorm for acquitting him. He wouldn't live a week after that.

Rahm is hoping to be gone when the trial starts.

The real failing in this is the media's terrible coverage of the incident. All they say is "16 shots" and " the reports don't match the video". Which Carol Marin admits she hasn't fully read and has no intention of doing so.

Never went on an Ivory Tower run without stopping on the way to get a box of donuts to bring up the my zone dispatchers. Maybe it was you who were on the receiving end. Those donuts were worth their weight in gold. Ah, memories.

According to the law, Van Dyke was justified in the use of lethal force to stop a deranged armed offender.

================================

Uh, he doesn't have to have his life in danger to make it a justified shoot. A berserk nut case running around with a knife and doing irrational things with it actually puts other citizens life in possible danger. Maybe not at that instant but one minute later it could have been Joe Blow who had that knife pressed against his throat. You are obviously not the police.

They call the police so much bc get this, this is what an 0115th Dist citizen said" bc to them you represent the parental responsibility they disnt have, because in the end your talking to them and not hitting them or abandoning them, and because you solve what ever problem they called you for because they didn't have responsible adults in their lives that can solve the problems for them, wether you want to believe it or not, you are as close as they'll ever get to having a functional family (not verbatim)....WOW

Going after coppers and throwing them under the bus is all a distraction away from billion dollar corporations laundering money and committing fraud and not seeing a day in jail because of politics. Look back and Google some high profile agency's and there investors and connect the dots and their money trails and one can only wonder why and how aren't these People not in prison, it's a bigger Web then what we think and the sun times put it best police are political pawns...

Commander Evan's rank and race didn't do him much good, did it?

They don't see race, they just see Poleece. Can't do shit with the poleece around.

What planet are you living on pal? If Glenn Evans was white all hell would have broken loose. If Glen Evans was white then after being acquitted he would be charged with the catch all federal charge of civil rights violation. He got a pass from the black community because he was black. Yes, they do see race. All the time and every single time.

the states attorneys does see race. They prosecuted at least four black cops in the last few years all of whom beat the case.
If you didnt go to GE's trial, you need to grab a transcript and read it.
Highlights
States attorney made the gangbanger change his testimony
states attorney was called out by a cop accused them of falsifying his official report'
states attorney allowed so called victim, and three ipra personnel to lie and falsify reports and perjure themselves, and took no action
Lead states attorney Freeman lied and falsified reports and is still working as an ASA
victim lied, admitted suing GE for 5 million ( number sounds familiar?).
GE or other officers never identified by so called victim
dna evidence experts were destroyed in court
most of the legit citizens in the places he worked loved him, the shitheads not so much.
It would be interesting to see if they send this case to the feds, I know if GE goes down, the states attorney, IPRA and the complainant will and should take the hit as well.

Retired two years ago after 31 years on the job. FINALLY got promoted to detective in my 18th year (and that was only because the damn list was up for almost 7 years) and finished out my career with 13 years as a homicide detective. In all the years on the job I can only recall ONE crime where a white person was the offender and a black person was the victim, and it was just a stupid drunken bar fight. I investigated hundreds of black on black murders and I cannot remember one iota of outrage over any of them, so in the spirit of entrepreneurship I am starting my own clothing line, starting with baseball hats and T-shirts with the slogan: Black Lives Matter, But Only When They're Killed By Police Officers.
I'm thinking $24.99 for the hats and $29.99 for the T-Shirts. What do you think? Is the price too high or too low?
