Politics Wins Out
- A federal jury quickly ruled Thursday against eight white or Hispanic Chicago police officers who contended they were victims of racial discrimination after being transferred off Mayor Rahm Emanuel's elite security detail.
The jury deliberated only about 30 minutes before deciding not to award the group any damages after the officers sued for millions in back pay and lost wages.
The decision came Thursday evening after four days of testimony.
"Elite" security detail? The only thing elite about it is the paycheck. And when the next guy or gal takes over, the current crop will be back writing crash reports or typing up search warrants or looking for that elusive I.S.R.

The ass you kiss on the way up is the same asshole that shits on you on the way down.
Should just enjoy it while it lasts because nothing is forever.
For once a jury gets it right and justice is done.
Not politics winning out but common sense. Good for the jury.
A half hour?!? Haha that's embarrassing. They have to go over instructions and tally a vote which takes about 20 min. No questions and no discussion. Back to the beat car fools.
I knew this was going to be the outcome.
HEY, wake up Prima Donnas - it's a Cloutocracy!
You lost your clout. You revert back to crap.
The mayors detail has always been filled with political people. Friends of friends. They were taken care of very well and had a long run. There were guys that had most of there years on the job on that detail. Taking close to the cleaners, picking up food and cutting grass in Michigan.
Now move along.
Their only sin was not being black so they were told by the detail commander. The same commander known to play pick up basketball with the friends of the future ex husband of the broad in charge of IPRA or he would have been fired! fired! immediately!
Ha ha ha.... Now S.T.F.U and get that rd# for a type B crash. Enough with the crying about how you were discriminated because of color. 016 dist Officer you know who you are. You're not fooling anyone. You dumbass lololol.
They sure did/do think they're special.
LOL
I am sorry but fuck all those pussies who got dumped. I first off would not want the detail with the mayor, they were ass sucking pansies who catered to the asshole who is killing our pension, and would fire you in a minute. Then when they get dumped they think they are someone special and file a lawsuit? I am glad they lost. Your clout only took you so far, now get back to a beat car you pussies and work a 8 hour day in the ghetto and see what life is really like, most of you punks sold out so you can get a higher pay rate and now you took it up the ass dry.
So who is going to order the transcripts and post them to SCRIBD?
I know FOP that would upset the Mayor and the media does not like to dabble in the merit cesspool for fear of being cut out of the loop.
Elite Security Force? I hear that they have pillow fights to determine who gets to hold the umbrella.
Did these guys know that's how it goes, also when your clout dies, YOU'RE OUT. Maybe they thought it was all on the square, Yeah right !!! only for them
Hey Piggot, go write a parker and get over it. Daddy's clout is gone.
I'm retired and glad that the verdict went the way it did.
I had a "spot" for five years. Without going into details, I impressed a D.C. who later went on to a much bigger and better position in the department. We had formed a friendship and for years he asked if he could do anything for me. The answer was always no.
But, after years of being in one of the worst districts, if not the worst, I realized the carnage was getting to me and I was becoming my own worst enemy. Disregard for bosses and citizens alike.
I went to him and told him I needed a break. Did he have a spot? He did and I got it. Was that clout? Yes and no. I did my job well, it was recognized, and was later rewarded. But it was not preordained by family lineage through the department or politics.
Well, that spot got eliminated and I was sent back to a district for my final years.
No, I was not happy with that turn of events. Was I grateful for the respite from the streets, YES!
Did I cry like a fucking baby? NO!
Who said life was fair?
Glad those crybabies got slapped down.
Rant out.
"Elite Force"? If any of you on that detail are reading this understand once you walk away from us serfs, after talking like an elite asshole, we are laughing at you calling you a ...well..."silly asshole". The entire roll call is laughing like a Monty Python skit.
We know how the job works.
Trooper D. In 016 can continue to berate citizens for minor traffic offenses instead of stopping a gang banger. Oh and he can do it at D1 pay. Lol.
hopefully the 016th district crybaby can get some closure now, we don't want to hear about it anymore - from the range to the mayor's detail to 016- wow!!!!
what a terrible and rough career you had!!!
Now those "elite" will see what irs like to get a red light camera ticket-and have to pay it like all the non-elite!
Did these officers actually think they had a chance to win. They serve (or not serve) at the pleasure of the mayor. Case closed.

Live by the sword, die by the sword...
People got "dumped" so these guys could get the spots when they went to the detail. Sorry, crybabies. Time to go back to your units
Champagne problems...
I'll never understand how this lawsuit ever even got traction.
When Washington was elected he had his own security detail.
When Shortshanks got elected then Harold's people were shown the door and Shanks brought in his political hacks, er I mean security detail.
When Rahm got elected he does the same thing but now suddenly these crybaby's feel it's not right.
Here's a poignant question for these crybaby's. When they got "dumped" how many of them wound up in a district on a beat car?
I'm quite sure the answer is ZERO.
That would be beneath this snobs.
A dumb-ass lawsuit, as SCC previously pointed out...You're clouted, your in. You lose your clout, you're out.
End of story. Enjoy the wave while your clout enables you to do so, because it all can change in an instant...or in
this case, an election.
