Ambush Threats

  • In a Nov. 24 email sent just hours before the city made public the video of a white police officer shooting and killing the black 17-year-old, an FBI agent said that a confidential informant — who had provided reliable information in the past — reported plans to ambush officers in retaliation for the teen's death.

"Violent rhetoric is high," the FBI wrote. "Due to the recent media spotlight on officer-involved deaths of minorities, there is a lot of anger in the neighborhood served by the Chicago Police Department."
The locations being targeted - 014 and Homan Square. Both locations that had nothing to do with the McDonald shooting. Makes perfect sense.

We don't recall any special attentions or Admin Fax messages or heads-up at roll calls. Must have gotten lost in all the "You were the bestest supernintendo ever!" and "Love Barb" e-mails that flooded GMac's inbox.

Shouldn't this intell have reached us at least by the CPD assigned to the Joint Terrorist Task Force? After what happened yesterday in France, we need to keep our residence&family secure. And media publishing OIS residences, such as Ferguson Officer Wilson and CPD Off. Van Dyke only serve to make them a greater target. And for the hair gels who love to post their activities on Facebook, shouldn't you reevaluate your cyber image?
Speaking of image, anyone notice how Ch. 5 had the "headline crawler" on the am news describing the officers kick to Shaquille's head a stomping? NBC 5 - Nothing But Crap!

Why would the FBI go out of there way to inform CPD about threats? They have truly revealed themselves to be the agency who has no integrity, politically motivated and unwilling to pursue justice, especially regarding HILLARY CLINTON and her abuse of power with classified emails. Emails with top secret information which are against the law to have on a private server. Obama and Hillary and the head of the fbi COMEY- appointed by Obama are the usual suspects. If your a politician, you can get away with breaking the law according to the fbi, they have investigated for months and still have nothing to show. If it was a lowly policeman, I'm sure they would have run over themselves to get there 5 minutes of fame to get some charges brought up. Do not look up to these agents, they are not looking for justice, but merely headlines and taking orders form the polititions in power.

Police are just expendable pawns in their political games. They do not care about your life, family, future, or safety. You are to be used and disregarded. If you are giving this department anything more than what your job description is, you are a fucking moron.

Another thought. Why are police addresses and names public record? We are not elected by the public. There is no reason for non appointed police personnel information to be public. All police should be required to wear and have is a badge with a number on it. Police officers names, areas of work, addresses, pay, ETC. should not be public record. Again, we are not elected officials or appointees. Manpower, budget, salary information (not individual), And the like should all be public record.

Rahm and the exempts intentional decision
not to give a fuck about Police Officer safety

That's why we heard nary a peep about this
down here in the bloody shit-mud at ground

Had any Police Officer or family member/
loved one/spouse come to harm, Rahm
and the exempts would have played it
to their advantage...

Just flat out despicable, hateful and shameful...

And here it is, everyone thinks rank & file
Policemen are the problem in Chicago in
spite of ample evidence to the contrary.

Rahm is irked that although he is stated
to have said he has no personal use for
Policemen other than as a trapping of
Office, Policemen refuse to submit to
him, pledge fealty and kiss his wizened,
rapidly gyrating, tutu-clad, shitty
little enraged sissy-weasel ass...

>Stabbing a table yelling, "Dead! Dead!
Dead!" while everyone in attendance
feigns amusement and pretends to
laugh at "Rahm being Rahm again."<

"Grrrrr!

I'm fucking sick of the lax of security at our stations. Our district has an open policy parking lot whereby offender's vehicles are being stolen(GOA) after impoundment due to no security measures. Officers are readily seen coming to/from their personal cars along with their license plates. Civilians just park their cars next to the officer's cars and damage them on the way out. On numerous occasions, officers vehicles have been keyed, tires flattened and stuff stolen from them. Management tries to down a car as lot security but it's on a man power needed basis. When the fuck is this department going to wake up and protect it's officers and install some better security measures like the suburbs do. With all the police anti-rhetoric, lawsuits and vigilantes someone is going to die or get hurt. Wake the fuck up and install counter measures!

We are under siege by the media, the Asa's office and most disturbing our own command staff. The offender who was on parole when he illegally resisted a lawful arrest and while resisting this lawful arrest turned into an assailant by biting and choking a police officer was released without charges today by our own department and the Asa's office. The Asa's office sited an ongoing Ipra investigation which is nonsensical. Our own department had the opportunity to override the Asa's decision and chose not to. Our union has been silent. We need to band together and unify. Respond only to your jobs. Do not take the risk of putting yourself in a position to use lawful force against any criminal and then be thrown under the bus by this regime. Demand a no confidence vote in your Supt. Who chose to visit the offender rather than the injured officers.

Anyone else seen this:

http://www.illinoiscourts.gov/Opinions/AppellateCourt/2016/1stDistrict/1150545.pdf

"At its core, the petitioner and the dissent view the Chicago police board as a sort of
bureaucratic rubber-stamp with no capacity to increase (though they concede it may decrease)
the police superintendent’s disciplinary recommendations. This essentially treats the police board
as a procedural extension of the superintendent’s authority. To the contrary, the Illinois and
Chicago Municipal Codes, which created the police board, put an end to dealing with police
misconduct as solely an internal police function. The municipal codes along with the police
board’s rules of procedure place final decision-making power on matters of discharge, removal,
and suspension exceeding 30 days in the control of the police board as an autonomous, impartial
public body. Any other interpretation circumvents the legislative purposes for the police board
and renders the police board’s function symbolic instead of substantive. "

I remember Sgt. George Pappagianis telling me years ago about the time he discovered he was being followed home. He turned into a dead end alley that he knew about, bailed out of his car and hid in a gangway. Sure enough here came the bad guys. He jumped out and got the drop on them with Zeus. Or was it Ares? Or maybe Apollo? I forget but it doesn't really matter which gun he used. They had guns and admitted they were following him and were going to hurt him. Keep your head on a swivel and be aware of who is behind you or watching you.

Another great article here from Heather Mac Donald:
Opinion Commentary

How Chicago’s Streets Became the Wild West
The Ferguson effect, failed city leadership and an ill-advised deal with the ACLU have made the city ever more dangerous.

By Heather Mac Donald
Updated June 16, 2016 9:26 a.m. ET
433 COMMENTS
Someone was shot in Chicago every 150 minutes during the first five months of 2016. Someone was murdered every 14 hours, and the city saw nearly 1,400 nonfatal shootings and 240 fatalities from gunfire. Over Memorial Day weekend, 69 people were shot, nearly one an hour, topping the previous year’s tally of 53 shootings. The violence is spilling from the Chicago’s gang-infested South and West Sides into the business district downtown. Lake Shore Drive has seen drive-by shootings and robberies.

The growing mayhem is the result of Chicago police officers’ withdrawing from proactive enforcement, making the city a dramatic example of what I have called the Ferguson effect. Since the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., in August 2014, the conceit that American policing is lethally racist has dominated media and political discourse, from the White House on down. Cops in minority neighborhoods in Chicago and other cities have responded by backing away from pedestrian stops and public-order policing; criminals are flourishing in the vacuum.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel warned in October 2015 that officers were going “fetal” as the violence grew. But 2016 produced an even sharper reduction in proactive enforcement. Failures in city leadership after a horrific police shooting, coupled with an ill-considered pact between the American Civil Liberties Union and the police department, are driving that reduction. Residents of Chicago’s high-crime areas are paying the price.

6/15/2016 09:21:00 PM

A lot of departments accept pension transfers and will credit you for time served (which has a whole new meaning these days) with your current department. If you can't transfer the money, they let you buy into their pension plan, depending on your prior total years of service.
You have to shop around, but I'd say it's worth it to do the homework and save your sanity.
