Shocked? Why Are You Shocked?

- The man and woman in their tennis gear had just arrived at the North Side lakefront park Saturday night when they saw a young man being chased.
One of the men following him had a gun in his hand and fired two shots. Another pulled a gun from the front of his waistband and fired once.
“It was the first time I’ve seen gunfire within 10 feet of me,” said the woman, who along with her companion asked not to be identified.
The shooting wounded a 19-year-old man; he got himself to Weiss Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
A trail of blood droplets 80 feet long remained on the sidewalk in the 3600 block of North Recreation Drive, next to the running trail and tennis courts.
“I was shocked that it happened here,” said the man. “I’ve never known this place to have any type of gun violence.”

Even places traditionally thought of as "safe" are seeing more than their share of burglaries, robberies and the perforated body showing up. Rahm has stripped police from the "quiet" parts of town for five years now.
Of any emotion you might experience at this turn of events, "shocked" ought to be pretty near the bottom of the list.

Fast track the recruits? What are you smoking? Recruits are now leaving the academy after 27 weeks! It was 24 weeks but the hours were changed and now they had to add 3 weeks. Even after 27 weeks classes are cut from the schedule. They are used for details on the weekend but fast track is not possible with the current administration.
WTF?! Only if you're tuned into NPR for all your news and views could you possibly be shocked by such an event in the Chicagoland area, circa 2016.
And if you do break down, get your CCW permit and buy a gun - snowflake - be sure to train, train, train.

As short as we are the academy should be open 24/7 pumping out recruits, the city wants 200 for a class in July so far they have only approved 96 out of the 250 personnel has investigated and cleared the blood is on rahms hands!
