- From sending SWAT teams into exam centers to arresting rule-breakers, China's public security authorities have been cracking down hard on college entrance examination cheaters
Students caught cheating risk going to prison for as long as seven years, the official Xinhua news agency said.
This week's university entrance exam, whose origins date back to imperial China, determines which university students will attend and what major they're able to select — and as a result, much of their future.
Oh wait - this is the commies in Beijing and not the Inspector General coming down on the IAD LIEutenant Test cheating scandal. Who would have thought that Red China could run a test more legit that the Chicago Police Department? It's a good thing Chicago is so progressive in their examination processes:

City plans to promote sergeants who passed NYPD exam marred by cheating

Cheaters can prosper in the NYPD.
The city intends to promote sergeants who passed the 2015 lieutenants’ exam by early June — though the test’s results have been marred by evidence of widespread cheating, the NYPD announced Thursday.
Lawrence Byrne, the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner for Legal Matters, told reporters that the inquiry into cheating on the 2015 test had expanded to include the captains’ exam administered in 2013.
The department — already reeling from a joint Internal Affairs and FBI corruption probe — had turned over the cheating inquiry to the city’s Department of Investigation.

Of the over 2,400 sergeants who took the exam, 6.8% passed the initial exam and 48% passed the makeup — administered two months later.
The 33 to 40 sergeants selected for promotion passed either exam, Byrne said.
He said the NYPD was screening sergeants who passed the makeup exam individually.
Byrne said “several” cops who passed the makeup exam were being held back from their expected promotion.
“We had some concerns initially around the makeup exam and concerns related to the validity of the reasons given for taking the makeup exam, and the paperwork submitted to support that,” Byrne said.
The announcement comes roughly a month after nine sergeants who took the exam sued the city in Manhattan Federal Court, alleging the test was unfair.
They pointed to evidence of cheating on a message board for NYPD test-takers, Rising Star, in which cops discussed individual questions on the lieutenants’ exam prior to the makeup test being administered.
One person even posted an answer key. The Daily News also uncovered evidence of similar cheating on the 2011 lieutenants’ exam.
The suit prompted Commissioner Bill Bratton to freeze promotions to lieutenant as the NYPD's Internal Affairs investigated the scandal.
Randolph McLaughlin, the attorney for the nine sergeants who took the exam, filed papers asking Judge Paul Engelmayer to prevent the NYPD from proceeding with the promotions until a hearing can be held on the alleged cheating.
“We want a mini-trial to expose the cheating that went on and to expose how incompetent (the Department of Citywide Administrative Services) was in the administration of this exam,” McLaughlin said.

W. and his former secretary Y.B. That box of rocks, is an embarrassment. I know for a fact they communicated daily about that exam and he escorted her to a private area DURING the test. Who do I contact about what I have proof of?
There's a better chance of winning the lottery while being stuck by lightning than these mutts seeing any repercussions from the exam scam.

No kidding. In 1967 my dad was working event when an alderman overheard him and his partner discussing an upcoming sergeants exam. The alderman offered my dad a promotion to sergeant for $500. He told the alderman to GFY. He died at the rank of patrolman and was proud of it.

Why would IAD need to get involved in the selection process for tact teams ? It should just be the decision of the commander, tact lieutnant and tact Sergeant.
A better idea for promotions is to promote the way the military and big business promote. No tests. Your direct supervisor puts you in for promotion and the command staff decides. Simple ! Let's stop all the charades with the test. Nobody gets promoted from simply the test. You have merit and you have special study group merit.

Chicago police promotes crooked thieves to run their police department. Both are stealing and defrauding taxpayers. But if it flies at city hall why shouldn't it fly at the CPD.
