Survey Says.....
Eddie invited everyone to take a survey. It's seem to be a completely unsecured survey, so when we say "everyone," we mean pretty much "anyone."

This is a national survey run by some university types. It's supposed to be anonymous and the questions are quite amusing. Things like the support your command staff gives you, the training the department gives you, the current state of policing, etc., along with a giant section on how you get along with minority communities and pretty much a lot of loaded questions that will either demonstrate "Policing is fine!" or "Police are racist!"
When you get to the part about "promotional opportunities," be sure to keep in mind who gets the answers and how.

Another round of research conducted by fruity UIC liberal department of bs, same people that came to roll calls with the last survey, about two years ago. I think those sat in big boxes in the corner till got super dusty and somebody threw them out.
How can this survey even be considered? Anyone reading your site can access it and fill it in anyway they want.
That was a lengthy survey and you can infer the built-in bias on several of the questions. I'm sure it will result in the observation that white police officers feel blacks in this country have received enough benefits to make them equal, while blacks do not feel the same way. (Just from the phrasing of the question.) Far too many questions about gun control and the variations of it. The game's afoot, people.
Here's the comment I left at the end of the survey:
There is a media and propaganda war on against police officers, who have now become the scapegoat for all the ills of society. Parents no longer take responsibility for raising their children, or instilling the basic ideas of right and wrong, respect for (any) authority figures, self-respect or personal responsibility. It's a very difficult time to be a law enforcement officer and I'm glad my career is at an end.
Well it is a national survey and it was devised by deep thinkers of high intelligence at a university. It shows sensitivity towards worthy minorities. What more could you ask for?

Corp surveys nowadays work like this;
Take survey--What can dept do to improve etc etc. ---if employer doesn't like the answers they re-give the test saying the results from the first test were skewed and need to be redone.
Then they don't like the answers from these two surveys, they bring in a third survey. What can YOU do to improve the dept. (Turning everything around). And of course dismissing the first two tests completely, never to be mentioned again.
This is the same survey that's been on-going for a few years. They're legit, they posted their previous results on line.
Not a cop but taking the test was fun anyway. You guys are so screwed if this is used to make policy.
Like Cops instead of crime is the problem. Amazing.

I took the survey even though I've been retired for 7 years and from my home computer.
My answers will screw up his numbers.

Share the shit out of this. That idiot Dr. behind this survey should have her sheep skin converted to condoms as she has no way to exclude false respondents, other than people checking "civilian". If your department head is propagating this, without appreciating the inherent idiocy of it, well... I have nothing.
On the questions, their design is blatant and easily discernible, which removes any value to the overall study. Again Dr. Dumb should be stripped of her credentials....

I believe the survey is from Circle, not the U of C.
The word scientific is used in the survey referring to scientifically proven police procedures.
There is nothing scientific about anything to do with police work.
Police work is an art.

Any survey with self-selected participants is invalid on its face. It is worthless and totally unscientific. Any college freshman who has ever taken a 100 level statistics course knows this.

Dr. Dennis Rosenbaum tried this crap on my academy class, 10-2, and we were also told it was anonymous and feel free to really sound off. I chose not to participate, and was called down to the duty desk a few days later and was told they never received a survey from me. Hmmmm...

UIC students from the Criminology department were in the 012 district, 3rd watch roll call, handing out surveys. I have a feeling they will not appreciate our "cop humor" answers!

In Chicago you don't even have to feel like a woman to use the women's restroom.
All you have to do is SAY you feel like a woman and you are protected.
You have to click that you are a sworn officer to take the survey. If you click civilian it knocks you off.

I know yours is a rhetorical question but on a more serious note, don't the taxpaying citizens of this city wonder why there are never any meetings, free stuff, citizens imput meetings, etc etc in their neighborhoods.
Only in crap areas that no right minded person would travel to or thru.
