Messy Weekend Underway
Friday night into Saturday just about matched the same time period of last weeks mayhem:
- Five people were killed and 18 others have been wounded by gunfire since late morning Friday, including a teen accidentally shot dead in Bridgeport, two men injured at a union hall on the Far South Side, and two people shot on the Stevenson Expressway.
Bridgeport? That was the negligent discharge.
Far South.... Hegewisch? Two got shot in Hegewisch?
And the Stevenson again? Leo, what the hell?

Crime wave? It sounds more like a small war. The only bright spot it that the thugs are canceling each other out.

Negligent discharge? The other "kid" was charged with first degree murder. And let's not forget the rap sheet on the victim. Just because he's a minor doesn't mean some people don't know what he was about. Not too long ago the police officers in this city were told that there would be zero tolerance.....on them. At the same time they embraced the criminals and made some of them minor celebrities with their attention. What did they think was going to happen?
We cannot stop the bad guys and take their guns away anymore. Consequently they are now "strapped" as they wander bout the city looking for victims. You want to know why there are all these expressway shootings? That's why. Now when the see some bangers, they have a gun to open up on him and an easy get away.
They aren't afraid of the police anymore and they should be. So how are you going to fix it Mr & Mrs taxpayer? Start by voting out this party that has crippled this city and state.

A neighbor said someone tried shooting the kid's father near 32nd/Morgan the day before but missed. Hardly any media coverage of it.

Why do so many yutes these days have early arthritis of the hands?
So what's with the "bullet-riddled car," etc., this AM on Pulaski between Belmont and Milwaukee? Initial reports early AM, street was reported blocked off in the traffic updates for hours, now nothing. This was different from the crazy man in the white Jaguar at Belmont/Kedzie.

I hope you guys are being safe out there. To the extent that you're protecting the law-abiding from the criminal scum, thank you. To the extent that you're propping up the criminal scum by preventing them from stooping to their social mean and killing themselves and their sub-society off, take a break. Some things just need to play themselves out, and as we've heard quite convincingly, this sub-society doesn't want the help of the police. They want to prove single-handedly that they are capable of mayhem and destruction, and completely powerless to do anything to stop it. I for one am standing by and enjoying that show. Nothing like watching a group that combines incompetence, violence, and indignance, set loose to do their best. It's like watching the building of a society, in reverse. Let them build.
